>>>>>[This is why I prefer dealing with runners who've 'fallen' from corporate or military lives, or those who are 'generational' runners. They tend to have better respect for the concept of everyone doing their job in the proper order, rather than just charging in like gangers or low-level mobsters do. There are certainly situations where adaptability and 'street smarts' are more important than planning and knowing how to navigate a corporate office without drawing attention to yourself, but gangers tend to be a bit too gung-ho until they've gotten some experience under their belt as actual runners. Some good talent does come from those pools, but it is like taking a gem from the earth. You got to cut and polish it before it can show its value. Military and corporate 'training' lead to other issues when entering the shadows, but the impulsiveness of gangers was long since cut away from them.]<<<<<

>>>>>[Having been a merc myself, I prefer ex-mercs for that.  They have at least part of the training that full military have (at a lower level for most, but still) and depending on where they have been, they also have the street smarts.  You don't survive Lagos if you don't have street smarts, take it from someone who's been there.  Again, a bit different, but it's a basis that you can build upon. ]<<<<<

>>>>>[Well, hell, I should check in here more often as I keep missing all the good stuff. I've been down in Texas visiting an old friend who now works with the Ghost Hawks. I knew I should of been a rigger instead of grunt when I signed up. The fly boys get all the cool stuff and all the girls... bastards. Got to meet some of the Angel Hawks while I was there. I've worked with PJs and their crews before but these guys kick it up just by one more notch and I fear for who ever is in their way when they hit the ground.

Oh and Nightmare I figured out where we met. It was in Berlin on the anarchist side of the wall... was my first time over in Europe without being on the UCAS's payroll.

Ah I see I haven't missed the good ol' colleagues talk. I prefer the ex-mil, merc, or corp runner more than the gangers. I don't object to working with them because some are pretty quick learners cause if they aren't they end up on a slab.]<<<<<

>>>>>[Only a talk Black Panther? If I was forced to hide in a bolt hole, for any amount of time, because of the stupidity of someone else, it's a bullet in the back of the head he would have gotten from me. Not a talk. If in the circles I run with have very little room for mistakes, there's absolutely none for stupidity.

I care little for the backgrounds of the people I recruit, either for a single job or permanent employment in our little network. Although I do end up hiring more people from intelligence or military communities, either private or governmental, I look for operatives with particular skills and talents that is needed and I hire no one who hasn't a solid reputation already. I must have a good eye because I've never had any problems with the competence or the level of intelligence of the people I worked with. Morality and the sudden growing of a conscience however. We had a few of those but well... That's a problem no one can really fix right? As for my own competence well... Wyrm has hired me more than once to do what I do best. And the guy hates my guts, and I mean really hates my guts. That should tell you what you need to know about my level of competence. Hahaha!

Hey! Since we're on the competence subject, it's not much of a leap to speak about specialty! What's yours chummers? What kind of runs suits you best? What makes you really tick in our own little corner of the rabbit hole we call the shadows? What's the ones you hate to do? I guess I could just go through the usual channels and know all about it for everyone in here but I rather read people boast or rant about their own careers! Hahaha!]<<<<<

>>>>>[Well, since it has been a while since we talked about this stuff, and we have some new faces in the crowd, I guess I'll lead off, then. I am a Combat Mage, pure and simple. Specialize in using spells and blades in combat. However, I've tried to make sure I am not wholly a 'magical street samurai', as one person called me. That one was very proud of her illusion spells, and didn't realize that just because I prefer straight up combat doesn't mean I'm incapable of other things. She is currently the property of a certain corporate executive in Chiba who has enjoys 'traditional' knot-work, and has a mage fetish.

Anyways, other than straight combat, I've also doubled as a Face from time to time. Part of it is the whole 'Tir noble' mystique. When I'm trying to get into places or talk to people during the legwork phase, and they hear that I was a nobleman who had to flee the country after taking revenge on the ones who killed my sister, it is a romantic image, to say the least. I don't do such things on the run itself, naturally, unless the run is some sort of seduction/blackmail thing. And I keep work and private separate. (Xerena says hi, by the way.) But this is all backed up by the fact that I stay calm, keep an eye on the exits, and have a plan to kill everyone in the room if need be. There is a famous quote by the old Chicago gangster Al Capone, “You can go a long way with a smile. You can go a lot farther with a smile and a gun.”

Which, I guess, leads into reprisals for what happens when things don't go as smoothly as I'd like. I think it is fair to say that the lucky ones wind up dead when I am crossed. I don't have the skill for inventive means of killing like Smiley and his apprentice. There is just pure violence, letting Shark free to do what he does best. Those who especially earn my ire are not so lucky. Some I arrange 'alternate employment' for, such as the mage I was talking about before. I've also given some over to the ghouls who keep watch on my safehouse in Redmond. But the most photogenic ones I turn into art. They are ice sculptures that used to be people, and while I may use this as a means of eliminating a target from time to time, I only keep a few as trophies. The rest are destroyed.]<<<<<

>>>>>[Baskerville,  send Ash your contact information,  I'm sitting in a hide right now someplace that isn't even close to Seattle waiting on a target. As for specialties and hates, well I'm an adept gunslinger so I tend to carry a fight more than anyone but our meat sheild, but I can do subtle and quiet as well. Azzies and bugs are what I'm best at with Shedim coming in a close second.  I don't like or dislike gangers in particular but there are two groups of them that seem to keep ending up on the wrong end of my gun so sometimes i find them a bit annoying. I'm getting to the point of not doing anymore bounty hunts for magical critters or ghouls though. Just ain't worth it.

On the otherhand Baskerville, I have a friend I would like for you to meet.  Ash has the pertinent information. ]<<<<<

>>>>>[Most would just call me a Weapon Specialist. I mostly work with medium to long range weaponry. I've been through all manner of sniper training and can serve as an independent sniper or a teams marksmen. Pretty much I serve as more of a scalpel then a hammer.

Part of my previous employment and my position meant I had to become a tracker and a outdoors men. I can track about almost anything though about almost any hell hole on this Earth. I also have some training in explosives but it doesn't go beyond grenades and C4. Anything more complicated or bigger your going to need to find another guy.

With what I listed above I mostly get sought out for wetwork or freelance merc work. Anything else that aren't those is because someone needed a gunmen for something. I, however, hate any espionage work since it's more about the social aspect of things and I suck at that. Most of my talking is done through a gun about 2 clicks away from where you're standing.]<<<<<

I sling power and make change for the Big Guy. Fight the big fights. Who's the Big Guy? More commonly he likes to be called Dragonslayer. He and I are the only reason I can think of to run the shadows still, could slide by null sweat on vox alone so it ain't the nuyen that fuels this Westwind. It's taking that job to smear drek in the face of that counselor that just demo'd a fraggin' LANDMARK. It's sticking it to that corp that literally OWNS people. >>>>>[Everyone is so dramatic. Just say what you do. I kill people. No surprise. Or incapacitate them if asked to. melee, CQC, fire support, sniping, AV assaults. I do it. I can catch land-based targets as well if they try to escape. On foot or via vehicle. And can survive on my own if needed for a stakeout. Sneak up and close to kill quietly or throw in grenades and empty a facility loud.

Best performance was on a heist. Blew up two Lone Star Patrol cars. Fired grenades under them when they drove towards. The third didn't stay to fight. Had to save our Troll. Went Berserk. Some Adept thing. Spent a minute beating an unconscious guard to a pulp. Cops called up a helicopter. Troll's fault we couldn't leave earlier. I Shot the heligunner and dropped the helicopter. Almost. It was smoking a lot. Turned to escape. Fun. Though team died because of what we stole. I've told this before.

I used to work alone. Or... Hard to explain. Under orders. Kill him, kill her. All the time. But nobody else on the field. Much simpler. But not fun.]<<<<<

As for the topic on hand... well, obviously, I breed barghests. I've got quite a pedigree going on! It was better in Quebec but I'm here now so I have to re-establish myself. Since that doesn't really pay the bills, however, I DO do other things. Occassionally I offer my place as a safehouse, being out of the way and crawling with Barghests, but more often I do security work. Either directly or by loaning my pups. It's how I met Orb! Got to hang around while she did her thing, just in case some people got past the dumb muscle. I guess I'm also good at negotiation but I don't practice that much outside of selling the puppies.]<<<<<

There's this psycho BITCH living off the docks near where the boyfriend works, vindictive as hell and doesn't seem to understand what "restraint" means. Then it's explosions everywhere.

As for what I do... well, hacker, nominally, although I don't do too much of that anymore as previously stated somewhere in the previous pages. Do most of work as a freelance spider. So... ah, I'll just get my "sorry"'s out of the way now. Sorry if I fry your brains, guys, nothing personal. I think I might enjoy spider work more than hacking. I've been getting paid more to do less work. ]<<<<<
