>>>>>[I am a street samurai. That means close combat, but it also means I've got solid skills with ranged weapons, as well. Mostly blades and automatics, but I can do a bit of anything except the real exotic stuff. My original ware was bleeding edge back in the day, but I've had most of it replaced over time. They don't tell you this, but if you're a main combatant, you want to replace your 'ware with moving parts every few years. Bone lacing and dermal plating are good pretty much forever, but no matter how well you do the maintenance, eventually that cyberarm is going to start breaking down, same as with your car that was brand new ten years ago, but now is getting harder and harder to keep running, as parts wear out and you have to go find new ones. Except you can manage without having a ride for a couple months while you track down a part that will fit. Having a piece of your body that doesn't work for a few months is going to hamper your survival chances, real fast.

As for where I learned my skills, I'd rather not discuss it. Already copped to it once on these boards, and I'll leave it at that. Let's just say I got caught in a bad situation, and got used to do some nasty drek. I keep the same color eyes and the brand out of penance, I guess? Anyways, it is to remind me of what I was, so I don't get back there. And for those that care, the new meds and therapy help a lot. I haven't had as many... episodes lately.]<<<<<

>>>>>[Hahaha! I like your style miss Vendetta!

As for me, well, I'm a wetwork artist! I'm trained in nearly every means to kill someone. From firearms to swords, explosives, poison mixing or even nanotech programming and disease weaponization... Not mentionning I ain't too bad at slinging fireballs either. My specialty is hand to hand martial arts skills and are well known by now but even if I can rip someone's throat out using only my thumb and my index, my real weapon of mass destruction is my amazing mind. I'm ridiculously good at analysing data and forment flawless, if not slightly crazy, plans that works without a hitch. I can predict or shape the outcome of any of my endeavors with amazing precision. Not too mention another small trick up my sleeve to stack the odds even more in my favor. Add my usual panache, style and now famous dark sens of humour and you've got one of the most feared assassins worldwide. I made the top 20 of both the FBI and Interpol watchlists more than once, and without getting a red notice! Hahaha! But these days, it's less and less wetwork and more micro managing!

And to borrow Miss Vendetta' style... I am the monster adults still fear they might find under their bed. The reaper knocking on your door with lucrative grim intent. The real villain no one write about in good ending stories. Your last confusion. And the punchline in a bad joke...]<<<<<

>>>>>[I'm an Adept myself, on the Athlete's Way I guess.

As for what that means, I'm a runner. Literal, one foot in front of the other very fast, running. Moving is what makes me move, I guess. My magic makes me wired fast and feather light, which is useful for the other sort of running. Things like staying quiet, or shooting straight. Dog's also taught me a few tricks too - I can track like a bloodhound, again being literal here. On a mundane level, I know my way around the Zone and I'm a decent medic, of the 'keep you from bleeding out whilst I get you to a real doc, even if the damn auto-doc is down and the only supplies I have are paperclips' sort.

Used to be a Bloodrunner for the Black Crescent, a medical courier, but that work is drying up. So I've moved into the shadows. It's not so bad. Learned most of what I know just growing up here in Chi-Town, then from courier work. Sort of signed on with a vet recently, Mr. Fletcher, who's showing me the ropes.

Work-wise, I prefer the jobs where either shooting isn't required, or that the things I'm killing are the sort nobody feels bad about. Mostly theft, data or physical, and critter-hunts. Work that's similar to what I used to do, except now when I'm taking a package from A to B it's not necessarily with the consent of the former owner. Doesn't pay as well as if I were more willing to get my hands dirty, but I make enough to eat. I'm not the sort who needs much more than that. Sleeping easy at night means more to me than how soft the mattress is, you scan?. And before any of you folks start lecturing; I prefer that sort of work. Doesn't mean I can't or won't shoot people in the face for money if I have to. Just being here now should tell you I'm willing to bludgeon folks to death with a rock over a mouldy crust. Again, literal. I just prefer not to, when that's an option on the table.]<<<<<

>>>>>[As an Awakened, how do you stand the astral in Chicago? The whole place gives me the creeps. At least in Lagos it is uniformly suffering and squalor related drek, but the astral in Chicago just rubs me the wrong way. One of the reasons I avoid that place unless the work is REAL good. Usually I subcontract if there's something I need in the sprawl.

Of course, the main reason I don't go there is that I dislike having to waste time cutting down beggars and trash that are trying to shank me for my shoes every twenty meters. It gets old fast.]<<<<<

We're sharing now, too?  Frag, what is this?  Sewing for Shadowrunners?  I kid, but really is a bit of a weird question. Ah what the drek, I guess I'll share.  For those that don't know or who have had their heads up their hoops the past 40 plus years, I'm like Wyrm...I solve problems in my own way.  However, unlike Wyrm, I'm more the type to pull wetwork, covert infiltration, and military engagements over hacking, magic, and basic shadowrun fair.  And yes, I'm also an independent merc that's listed with the Mercenary Guild and leads her own squad.

Speaking of Wyrm, you get that Desert Wars file I forwarded you a few days back?]<<<<

And I haven't shared, but I'm primarily a decker.   Okay, I'm 99.999% decker, with a small smattering of other crap that's enough to either a) get me to a place where I can hack, or b) get me out of the place where I just hacked and keep me alive.  I also plan runs for people - look up Dark Ring Designs - but understand that though I'll plan it, I won't execute any of it for you ... >>>>>[@Iceblade Like Kitten said, you get used to it. It was actually a bit of surprise how different it felt the first time I left Chicago.

That said, no one really gets used to the Zone. There's places with an... aspect, I think the term was, that you just don't want to get used to. Bugs and pollution mostly. There's also the places where the FAB did it's work where you just have to suck it up and deal. Working in the Zone is a matter of learning when to clamp down on your magic and just go without. I'm guessing that's probably easier for me than a mage.

It helps to know where those places are too. I actually make a little jing now and then playing guide for awakened folks who have business in the Zone.]<<<<<

>>>>>[I'll ante up on the detail sharing, profession wise.

If you didn't hear, I'm the fastest motorcycle courier in the Seattle Sprawl, and if you heard different, you heard wrong. I also can handle quiet entrance and exits, and my specialty in a fight is hand to hand with a focus for taser punches. I've found that putting someone down long enough for them to regret the hangover the next day is a better policy to keep corps off my rear end, but even a technical pacifist like me knows that sometimes, you gotta put them down permanent like or there will be worse trouble down the road. I just happen to follow a more 'I shall not strike the first blow, but I shall strike the last' mode of operation. I may take...some liberties with that meaning sometimes, but hey, a guard who walks out of an elevator with his AR ready to roar is already striking in my book.

I also double as a bouncer, a driver, I've started to teach some martial arts classes, and I may have some other connections you'd have to pay attention to catch on to, or ask someone else.

Feel free to ask other questions though! Coyotes are good at suggestions and wisdom...if you listen right.

Oh, and I'm thinking of starting a poker night. Anyone interested let me know.]<<<<<

>>>>>[Count me in on the poker night, Card.

Back in Seattle after a brief trip down south. A smuggler I know who runs a route through the Lacuna into Aztlan needed a bit of help 'discouraging' her competitors from trying to muscle in on her route. Did you know that having a spirit possess a submarine can make it really good at ramming other subs? Anyways, we left the three minisubs we found crippled and lying on the bottom, with toxic water leaking in. My guess is that any survivors aren't likely to try that route again.]<<<<<
