>>>>>[Find the right person, best thing in the world.  And I don't just say that because I caught the wife in bed with another woman, was just about to freak out, then they both invited me in.  Well, what could I say to that?  It's also the hardest thing when that person is taken away from you.  Sometimes I feel like the hurt will never go away.

Oh, Madrecita, another crew caught one of those whatevers in a white gator trap, and after what I am told was an "Epic Battle", they got some pieces for you.  I took the opportunity to get a few and have them magically contained to stave off...  Fragged if I know, but I've worked with the magician before and trust him to do good work.  I currently have it on dry ice in a .50 Cal locked ammo box, packed around dry ice in a floor safe at a place that I have an, um, "arrangement" with.  If you don't want it, I know another crew of researchers that would be interested in it.]<<<<<

>>>>>[I knew a beautiful woman once. Well, I know a lot of beautiful women but this one was the closest I got to a relationship. We were a lot alike. It was wild. Both living a hundred miles per hour and for her it was pretty literal, damn good driver, we both knew what the other was doing for a living and I guess we were both screwed up persons. She was an addict, well she had been clean for a few months when we met but it wasn't easy, I didn't mind. And me well, I was being me. I guess screwed up people get closer from time to time. She even made me think about quitting that life. I was about to make the necessary preparations to retrieve an make my real identity live again when one day I got back to my condo and she was gone, along with all her things, no explanations. I knew from the beginning that some things are bound to be one way, that I was destined to live and die alone in a gutter somewhere but I guess I only realized it at this precise moment. Destiny has other plans for me, always had. So I resumed my both dangerous and hedonistic life and never looked back. No regrets so far. She is still in Seattle, I see her from time to time but we haven't spoke since. I see shame when she looks at me and she seems to avoid me like the plague. She's been in a relationship for a few months now. Looks serious enough. Good for her. I do wonder why she left, not that it really bothers me anymore.]<<<<<

>>>>>[Sorry Iceblade. I'd already gone hunting by the time you posted. Next time I need back-up, I'll hit you up.

Crazy, crazy drek! I've never seen the like. I caught up with a small one but ended up having to destroy it. It just kept coming and coming! This is not something I'd care to face alone again...

Money...yes please! Like I said...my own run turned up squat. I owe you one. If any of the crew needs medical attention...I'll cover it.

Mmm...love and The Shadows don't mix. In the end, the Shadows will always claim one or both of you. Unless you're lucky enough to make a good Shadow team. Which Sinead and I was...but the SHadows still won in the end.]<<<<<

>>>>>[Oh I don't know Madrecita, I do think it's possible. I know a few runners who are making it work. Bull, VU93's creator here has been married for years now. The Shadows claimed his daughter but it wasn't his fault or did she had anything to do with said Shadows (Not my intention to open old wounds Bull, just mentioning your married life). All I'm saying, and not to start a religious debate, but destiny/fate/whatever-suits-your-mind has plans for us. Some of us a bound to live alone and others aren't. In my case, I know for a fact that the Celestial Bureaucracy does have written plans for me and as I found out, the best way to piss those heavenly bureaucrats off is asking for your files with a big mustache and a fake warrant, hahaha!]<<<<<

>>>>>[I know a few ShadowCouples that went well.  I tried to retire after the wedding, moved out of the sprawl, up in the Northern UCAS, but neither of us could keep out of Biz.  Hell, the Citizens of one gated community forced us into it once because of Anniversary Presents, if you could believe it!  But we weren't fully in, just the peripheral stuff.  There were a few attempts by amateurs, typical drek.  You know, the stuff that'd happen just walking downtown Seattle.

What happened with her death, it wasn't Biz, it wasn't Shadows, it was policlub terrorism.  Stupid, pathetic, worthless drek.  Damned racism of all things.  Public personas, legal concealed firearms, the works.  Not that carrying heavy and illegal would have saved her, or me.  Or anyone else in the building.

No, I know families that have lived in the shadows.  Big Murphy is a third-generation Shadowrunner, and is training the fourth.  Hell, he's almost done, really.  Few other folks.  Some I'd consider safer than anyone outside of a Corp Enclave.  They know the scene, kids know how to protect themselves from the street monsters, the works.  Better than most kids on the street with no armoured clothing, no handguns or tasers, no idea who they have to be careful of.  No monsters that will come creeping out of the gutters if anything ever happens to them.

I should know.  I'm one of those monsters.]<<<<<

>>>>>[Biggest problem for me would be finding a woman that understands the difference between what I do to get the job done, and what I do in my personal life. Sometimes getting the pretty secretary on her back is an easier way to get through a door than sending your hacker through the IC and past the spiders to unlock it for you. Lots of women take offense to the idea of a guy sleeping around as part of his job, or to sell a cover story. Go figure.]<<<<<
