And Smiley...what is wrong with Powerline is that there's all those delicious bodies, and I can't have one of them. ]<<<<<

Hell, I wasn't even digging, really. I just bought a pretty girl a drink at a bar in LA, last time I passed through. We had the shadows in common, and one thing led to another. Swapped a couple war stories, with the names and dates politely excluded, of course.]<<<<<

Ooh honey...you and I are going to get along just fine. Handsome hunk of ork meat, eh?

Yes, of course I'm joking. I'm not a cradle snatcher after all. ]<<<<<

>>>>>[Oh, she just told me enough that I thought I'd do a bit of digging on my own. After she told me about the Vasquez job, I decided to download a soundtrack to go with my research. Not normally my style, but it fit the mood, and the lead singer has some real pipes on her. She just gave me the highlights, in return for some of my own stories. I didn't have tales of crashing through the jungles after blood mages to tell, of course, but there were a couple stories that held her interest. Buy me a drink sometime, and I might tell them to you, too. Unless Wyrm wants to prove how very, very old and knowledgeable he is and spill all my secrets for me, of course.]<<<<<

Mmm...Tir whiskey was it?

Oh, and I'm sure the wyrm isn't that impolite or insecure, to have to prove it all the time, high above the likes of us as he is.

Well..I should get ready. See you at 8, Ice.  ]<<<<<

And yes, a bottle of Tir whiskey will certainly get a few stories out of me. Not so many blood mages, but I can promise at least a couple tales of runs against the big A, including one where a Feathered Serpent decided I'd make a good snack.]<<<<<

>>>>>[If I'm not that important then why the posturing, Wyrm? You're the one who started all this, in some vain idea of putting me in my place. Didn't say word one against you before you started this drek up. But no, a Tir elf talks about his home, and you gotta get up in arms. So I'm calling you on your bulldrek. Either show what you've got, or don't. Or anyone here could buy me a few drinks, and I'd be glad to tell them most everything that you could have possibly found. Unlike some people, I don't have a 'deepest darkest'. I just have 'mildly inconvenient if this came out right now'. Unless you're going to stoop so low as to threaten my family? But no, I doubt you'd do that, being all high and mighty, while reflexively lashing out at anyone you perceive as having the same attitude? Spare me the drek, Wyrm.

All I've got is a few rebels who would like to see me dead, a couple corps who wouldn't mind if I died, but couldn't be bothered to take the time unless I moved WAY up their 'To Do' list, and possibly the next of kin of a Feathered Serpent (not a great) who may want to see me dead. Nothing more than what most people in this kind of network would have. Only thing I have that most of you don't is enough money in a retirement fund that I could leave this life tomorrow, and spend the next fifty years or so in luxury, while going back to one of my old jobs.

So really, Wyrm, unless you're going to track down all the women I've slept with and give them my current address, there isn't much you can do that would be more than a mild annoyance. And even that would only be a major annoyance, because orgies wear you out too much to get any work done, and they get so testy as their waiting for their turn.]<<<<<

>>>>>[ Posturing?  I 'started all this' with a comment about how you, Tarlan, and other elves with too much Tolkein and brainwashing have made Tir Tairngire out to be something it isn't -- mana in the soil and water, indeed.  I commented on the political and social realities of Tir Tairngire from its very inception, that made me and several others leave and that eventually caused a popular revolution that overthrew the old order.
Left out?  Sour grapes?  Posturing?  Rakhi, what I know about your homeland -- Schwartzkopf says you were born in the Salish-Sidhe, by the way, three years before Tir Tairngire -- and about the people who brought it about (which unfortunately includes myself) would fill special editions of all the world's screamsheets.
You, you're just a cup of salt added to the ocean, worth the six seconds it takes to send an agent to delve into files habitually collected over decades of 'running.  It isn't posturing; it's habitual CYA, because you're in the shadows and, frankly, can't be trusted because the people who used to give you marching orders are still on the loose. ]<<<<<

>>>>>[Last I heard, Surehand was one of the people on scene when the Watergate Rift closed. Along with Ehran the Scribe, Hestaby, Ghostwalker, and others.

Yes, yes, you have a bunch of drek on my homeland. Yes, I was born shortly before Surehand's proclamation made official what had already been established in secret, under the nose of the STC. I believe having been born and raised in that area, I can claim it as my homeland, thank you very much.

Yes, I'm in the shadows. Yes, I did something else before I got here. Yes, I wouldn't be here if some uppity peasants didn't like the cards they'd been dealt. Except for those few people born into the shadows, most everyone here did something else before they began running. Whoop-de-fragging-do. Its more or less the basic runner backstory, except all the players are more photogenic. You're not going to say never trust any runner who came out of one of the big 10, because the people who used to pull their strings are still around, are you? No, you just got a chip on your shoulder about the Tir.]<<<<<

>>>>>[I figure the easiest way for me to say hi is to do exactly that: Hello!

You'll have to excuse me if this makes me look stupidly new, because in the scheme of things, I am. Or, at least I'm new to doing things other then running from Point A to Point B for the Triad, and random other paying customers. I hang in the Seattle Sprawl, a good click north of the City Center. I'm finally starting to try and branch into other parts of the shadows, so I figured I'd stop by, try finding advice and contacts, try to learn something new. From what I hear, that's the best way to stay alive. Any other info on me, you'll have to ask for, pay for, or dig up yourself.

I'll not jump in on the current....conversation between Iceblade and The Wyrm, so I'll sit in a corner and be quiet like a good neophyte until I can find something constructive to say.]<<<<<
