Melee PhysAd with a Weapon Focus, Assensing and a heavy-duty Commlink.

If you want an example, have a look at my Melee Adept here: http://forums.shadowrun4.com/index.php?topic=7738.0 just drop the vehicle and splurge on a tertiary hacking Commlink, Focus one of the weapons (Preferrably one of the Monofilament Swords) and grab the Assensing skill.

Pure adepts are only OK at killing spirits, in the sense that you can make one who is capable of winning fights where the spirit is willing to engage in honorable fisticuffs but you're kind of out of luck if it decides it would rather fly around and zap you from LOS.

Can you use Ways?

Can you use Martial Arts?

*eyebrow raise* It isn't like it'd be hard for him to look at your copy (as long as you have it on a portable device).

Way of the Adept is PDF only. The only way to have a hard copy would be to print it. You might wanna do that and give it a shot.

Do you have a specific metatype in mind or are you OK with going with whatever works?

I can see two viable ways for this to go. One of them is going to be being an troll and kicking spirits so hard they explode, the other is more metatype-flexible and involves dual-wielding melee weapons of some type and hitting things with them. The former will do more damage in general, the latter will be a bit better at the hacking and more good at defense. I can give you the rundown on either.

I like the latter one seems more long term
I done making things explode too lol
I am in to campaigns so both rundowns will be nice if you don't mind

The first one:

Be a troll (or better yet a Fomori). Get Adept (5), SURGE 3 (15), Martial Arts 3 (+3 Unarmed DV), Kick Attack manuever, and the SURGE qualities Bone Spikes (5), Satyr Legs (10), Celerity (5), and Elongated Limbs (10).

Make sure you have good Agility and Strength (for the hitting), and decent Body (for the not dying), and softcap Reaction, Intuition, and Magic. You don't particularly need any other stats and you'll probably have to go light on them due to needing more points for skills.

Lose 2 essence for 'ware; I recommend the Bioware Muscle Toner 2 (.4), Bone Density Augmentation 4 (1.2), PuSHeD (.1), and the cyberware Obvious Lower Arm (your offhand) (.45), which you load up with a Nanohive (and get NeoCortical Nanites), Armor 2 (upgraded to 3 as soon as possible), and you can put whatever in the extra space like a datajack or implanting your commlink or whatever. That's 1.7 bio and .45 cyber for 1.925 essence loss. You can upgrade the grades and fit in more stuff later (Encephalon, higher-grade Toner, Muscle Augmentation, Reflex Recorders) but it's all the core useful things.

That leaves you 3 PP. You really need 2 IP to be able to fight; that's 1.5 for Improved Reflexes I. You also need Killing Hands (.5) and you will need Astral Combat to see spirits on the astral (1). You would want Critical Strike but don't have the PP for it yet, however, you do plenty of damage (and Killing Hands lets you ignore ITNW).

Skills-wise, the skills you have to be good at are Unarmed Combat, Computer, and Hacking. You should be at least trained in Assensing, Electronic Warfare, Perception, and Data Search, and you may want to be better at them. You should also probably at least be trained in a ranged combat skill (probably Automatics or Heavy Weapons) for things that won't melee you.

You'll need a commlink and basic hacking programs. You don't need every program; I'll direct you to the Generalist archetype (first link in my sig) for a good basic commlink setup with the programs you have to have.

You will have room to grow (and are missing a few things that would be nice) but you should be able to fight very effectively (and you can also move crazy fast due to Satyr Legs + Celerity + Troll) and should be able to hack competently. Assuming a modest 7 base strength, kicks are for 4 (base) + 1 (Satyr Legs) + 3 (bone density augmentation) + 3 (martial arts) + 2 (bone spikes) for 13 DV with reach 3 (troll+elongated limbs+kick attack), which is plenty good and can easily increase (1 more magic for Critical Strike 4 costs 20 karma and will get you to 17 DV).

One note: on this character, I recommend not specializing any skills and buying them later with karma (you'll be stretched a little thin).

The second one:

Be an Ork. Adept, SURGE 3, but either Blades +2, or Clubs +1 and +1 Full Parry as your martial arts qualities, and Two-Weapon Style, Iaijutsu, and Off-Hand Training manuevers. If you are using Clubs, you want Vicious Blow too, if your GM will let it apply to electrical melee weapons.

SURGE: Elongated Limbs and Metagenic Enhancement: Agility.

You want softcapped Agility, decent Body, softcapped Reaction, Intuition, and Magic. You either want Strength (if you are using Blades) or you don't want any strength at all (if you are using Clubs). You don't really need any other stats.

Lose 1 essence for 'ware, Muscle Toner 2 (.4), PuSHeD (.1), Reflex Recorder (Blades or Clubs) (.1), and the arm as above (.45). You actually have a little leftover space but you will want Muscle Toner 4 so I recommend waiting to get more.

That leaves 4 PP. Improved Reflexes 1 and Astral Perception is 2.5. You really want Improved Ability (Blades or Clubs) for another 1 because of how TWS works (it gets added to offense once and defense twice). The last .5 should probably be Improved Ability on computer skills.

Commlink and programs as above.

Skills as above (but Blades or Clubs instead of Unarmed Combat obviously).

Weapons: If you are using Blades, get a Vibroblade Sword and 2 Ceramic Knives (you want a Vibroblade Sword in your mainhand if possible, you always want 2 weapons). Get Personalized Grip on everything. You may want more swords; Vibroblade Knife is a decent choice if you want a smaller concealable weapon that hits harder than the ceramic knives. A Monofilament Sword is not concealable and worse than a Vibroblade Sword, but it is R rather than F so you may want to own one. You can also put Bayonets on guns.

If you are using Clubs, you want the AZ-150 Stun Baton, and spare batteries/clubs. You probably also want a more innocuous weapon, which is easy because a lot of improvised weapons are perfectly good clubs and you can beat people to death with a potted plant or whatever; you may also want to have some frying pans. If your GM does not allow Vicious Blow on electrical weapons, you should also own some Sledgehammers (or Maces) for breaking drones/vehicles/etc.

You definitely want a Weapon Focus at some point. You may or may not want to start with one; you can only start with a fairly low-force one and you are better off long-term with a big one. You can either buy one now and deal, buy one now and replace it later, or not buy one until you save up for a good one. The main reason to have a low-force one is so you can bypass ITNW with it. You might also want to get a Weapon Focus of one type now, and get a bigger one later; for example, start with a Ceramic Knife Weapon Focus force 1, and later get a Vibroblade Sword Weapon Focus force 6.

Thank you very much for the two ideas
I will be using one of them for sure
May I also have permission to use Ghost from your signature?

I should revise my weapon advice slightly to mention the Victorinox SmartStaff. It's a sensible weapon choice for either Blades or Clubs, because it's very concealable (-1 concealability, which is quite good), a free action to unfold, and its unfolded form is as good as a mace or a monofilament sword. It has too much availability to get at chargen, but it's a quite sensible choice later. It can't do as much damage as a Vibroblade Sword and it can't get past MAD like a ceramic knife, but it beats Maces and Monofilament Sword handily, and it's R, not F. It's actually not a bad choice for a high-force weapon focus; if you're going to cough up the karma and nuyen for a force 6 weapon focus, it pays to have one that's concealable enough to take nearly anywhere.
