Hi

New to the current edition still reading the main book, have most of the supplements.  Finding the parts on hacking and such a bit of a slog.  Played all the other versions, but a long time ago.

My preferred character type would be an adept  with Bioware, maybe Shaman.  Street Samurai are not my thing but there is always room for new horizons so to speak.  I am wondering what are the best synergies for multi tasking.

Example
Does Hacking and Samurai mix well and if so where is the synergy and what is better to major in.

Thanks

Hacker + anything works well, because all a Hacker needs to work is a couple skills (Computer + Data Search + Hacking) and a lot of money. With a Hacker/Sammie or Hacker/Rigger cross, though, you'll have to pick which area you want to focus on first, as both sides of those particular coins are Nuyen intensive. Hacker/Adept though can be groovy, especially if you use AR hacking to make use of your IP Booster for hacking and Improved NonCombat Ability to boost your hacking skills to make up for the lack of Hotsim bonus.

Technomancer or Mage + Face works out great as well, provided you pick a Stream/Tradition that resists Fading/Drain using Charisma. Just build up your social skills and maybe splash a point of Bioware for Tailored Pheromones and a Platelet Factory and Bob's your uncle.

I'm sure there's more, but those are the big ones I'm familiar with.

Take a look at the first link in my sig for some examples of things that synergize well. Generally speaking:

Technomancers can do hacking and rigging, optionally face with a charisma stream.

Mages can do magic, optionally face with a charisma tradition.

Adepts do well as face/anything else because of how good Kinesics is, but they don't stretch further than that and you really, really want some ware.

Mundanes can cover any of street samurai, hacking, rigging, facing, and B&E; the more you stretch the less good you are at any one thing, but it is really important to be careful about getting the most efficient boosts rather than the least efficient ones.

Mind Over Matter mystic adepts are a kind of unique thing that can do B&E, combat, and some magic. Take a look at the Transhuman Mystic in my sig for an example.

I thought this is about the Adept power Multitasking  :-\

Hacking+Samurai=Combathacker. Very valid strategy.
Works with cyberware (best: Move-by-Wire), Link: http://forums.shadowrun4.com/index.php?topic=4495.0 look for Combathacker
works as an adept (AR-Hacking as mentioned): Link: http://forums.shadowrun4.com/index.php?topic=6769.0 look for <<Key>>
ultimatetively you want to be a technomancer with Mesh Reality. He can hack in VR while fight in physical for a combined total of 5 ini passes. But that's extremely karma intensive and a lot of extra rules for a beginner.
