I'll go with my cyber-armed Mage since the group seems to be lacking a magician. Will post the character tonight.

Mahuta and Turgan are both Ork who share the Underground.

Turgan is HB's first contact in the city, but their first contact actually dates back to a protection job he did as a freelance between assignments while in the UCAS. Turgan had contacts within HB's mercenary group who let it known that if people were interested in getting some extra cred, he'd have a small job for them. It was indeed a small job, protecting a smuggler during a tense meeting with buyers that had lately shown they might be more interested in the goods than in paying for them, and showing up with extra muscle seemed a good idea. HB earned his stripes in Turgan's eyes when he disarmed two of the hired thugs even as they were still drawing weapons, and promptly tossed the buyer into his fellow mercenaries' hands to discourage any further "funny business". Not a shot was fired, and the buyer was suddenly a lot more cooperative.

When HB finally thought about leaving to settle elsewhere without the hassle of being part of an Ares-sponsored mercs, he dug up Turgan's number and arranged for a way in the Seattle, again tagging along a smuggler. Once in the city, Turgan put HB in touch with Mahuta, a gang leader "offering" shelter for "fellow orks down on their luck".

Mahuta turned out to be little more than a thug with a brain, running protection rackets in his part of the Underground. Still, the first time they tried to impress HB, it turned out he impressed him. Having had little info from Turgan, they expected another poor immigrant slot hoping for a better life in the Emerald City, so they sent an unproven ork from their gang to rough him up. HB was nice enough to only break his arm and send him back with a note saying he didn't need movers to get his stuff into his new home. Somehow, Mahuta found it hilarious (more than the poor guy who'd pulled a knife on HB anyway) and met him in person. Mahuta had enough brains, contacts and resources to be helpful though, dealing with illegal immigrants all the time, and he "generously" offered HB to lend him the contacts and resources he need to settle in, mostly in acquiring a SIN and some licenses for the more obvious stuff he carried. Of course, the gang leader sent him the bill, and now not only does he collect HB's rent, he also collects the interests on the 10.000 HB owes him.

After selling most of the stuff he would likely no longer need through Turgan, HB agreed to do some jobs, either for the fixer or the gang leader really, so long as it pays his rent and lets him eat, and maybe buy that new VR game coming up.

Charlotte Evans is a woman he met during one of his early jobs, she was trying to dig up dirt on a target he was chasing down and he chose to get his information by following her and finding where her investigation led. Eventually she found a nasty piece of dirt on his target, and as a result a hit squad was sent to take her out. Whisper chose to intervene and help her escape, and took out the hit squad. Ever since then the two of them have had a "quid pro quo" relationship, where he will give her clues and tip offs to whats happening in the shadow world and she keeps him up to date on the corporate end of things. There is some latent sexual tension between them, but neither have ever acted upon it.

Updated sheet with contacts.

Professor Tolan Redborn: Works in the Magical Theory Department of a University (if we in Seatle, than Seattle University). Allerd took classes through him, almost a mentor to him. He usually likes to bounce theories off him.

Dylan Edwards: Urban Anthropologist, a guy he met along the way in his life, through school. He likes to talk to him about magic in a sociological manner.

The odd jobs wouldn't be anything fancy. Rough up a local bartender who didn't pay on time, take out some low life that pissed off a mob boss. He's basically be a low level gangster, but not actually associated with a gang.

I assume you looked that the character sheet posted onto the Black Book then? I can move it to here as well if that'd be better.

Would definately still love to take part in this, but in the interest of being fair and forthright, felt I should let you know I just moved from waiting list on that second game to being in the game. So I am now in two active games at present. I would still easily be able to meet the post requirements, but felt I should let you know in case there are others here you want to let in who aren't in any games already.

Father_Twilight - Thank you for your notice. Currently you do not appear to be pushing out anyone, so if you are still interested please keep an eye on this thread.

WhackedMaki - Exile. I reviewed the CS you posted in the Big Black Book o' Runners thread. Which raises some questions for me. One of which is how come he is still alive. After a couple of months on the streets he is bound to have encountered someone who can fry his brain by looking at him. Or simply talk him into doing something very fatal. So who is looking out for him? If it's the gang, then perhaps he should have a stronger connection to them. Or it may be that it is fairly early after your release from those awful cybermancy experiments that you meet the other runners.

Everyone - You are going to be on a run or runs with your fellow Runners in this thread. What would that Run be, and why would you all do it together?

At this time, and even though I'm not currently in consideration for this game, I am going to officially withdraw my character and my interest.  I'm GMing a game that just started, and I'm involved in a couple others.  In the interest of letting people who aren't in games get into some, I'll step aside.

If, for some reason in the future you find yourself needing players, I'll be around.
I could wile away the hours conversing with the flowers
Consulting with the rain
And my head I'd be scratching while my thoughts were busy hatching
If I only had a brain...

Run to go on: I'll say good old fashioned corporate espionage. Infiltrating a research center or scientists home to obtain research files on a new product.

Why we would work together?: The majority of the characters driving goal seems to be monetary gain and the construction of a reputation in the shadows, as such we would be drawn to each other to create a team capable of meeting everyone's needs while watching each others backs. Considering the wide range of skills among the varied offered characters its easy to see the people coming together in the shadows to obtain other members who have skills the team needs that none of them have, such as a hacker, or an investigative mage, a gunbunny, a spy, a face, etc. As for why I would work with them, anything that gets me more influence in the shadow world is good, as it gives me higher odds of chasing down and repaying those who shattered my characters youth and family.

I was thinking that it hasn't been that long since my character was released from these experiments. If you would want me to do something related to the gang, I could, but it'd take some moving around of points (side note: it's most likely the Organ Leggers would get to him, what with 214k worth of implants).

I'd say may character would mainly go on a run that would be given by some kind of gangster, bringing down some other gangster, getting info he needed, the like. Something requiring muscle. Anything very social my character would definitely not be sent on, as he kind of sucks at that. He probably wouldn't be sent a purely stealth mission either, he's not bad at getting in places, but once he's in, his only hope of remaining quiet would be to subduing somebody from behind. He could do okay at it, but it's a big risk compared to taking them out from a distance.

As to why my character would work with the others: Because he was told to. He may not like all of them right away due to his bias, but he would still help them if told. He has no reason not to work with others if it means getting closer to his goal, of which earning money is a HUGE part. Reputation means nothing to him, so if the goal was purely to earn respect, he probably wouldn't be interested, unless it meant more jobs of larger payout from the boss later on. Another reason he would do it would be so that he would have people with which to survive. As you point out, he probably won't last all that much longer on his own, so having a group to help him would be a big advantage.

Money. Survival.

My character is not wealthy, stuff happened. Drek hit the fan and so did he from the looks of it. He's choking on guilt, he stinks of betrayal, and he still has to eat. Maybe he'll be able to look at himself in the mirror someday. But that'll be a bonus.

HB is a thrill-seeker. He enjoys a good fight though he's not cruel and will not uselessly kill downed opponents. To him, the world is a big video game, and he's one of the main characters (though he has no problems with going for a multi-player run). As such, he's likely to be especially on the lookout for things that are appealing to him either because they sound risky (and thus fun), or because they're likely to involve an interesting challenge to his physical skills. Though he knows enough not to be seen if needed, he's not big on infiltration jobs because he likes to prove his physical might. However, having worked as a merc, he understands that a mission objective is more important than personal taste, so while he'll sulk about it, he will do whatever is needed.

As for why he'd join up with others, there are two main reasons. The first is that he is new in town, and not being very good with social skills, he knows just about no one, so anyone he'd worked with (likely thanks to his fixer) would be someone he'd have a chance to interact with. The second reason is that all his training comes from military service, first in Israel and then as a merc. Being part of a unit is ingrained within him and he would actually feel a bit lost about what to do if he were to operate solo. Though his teen spirit forbids him from saying so, he craves the company of people, if only to show off what he can do.

Due to the lack of time I have this week I won´t be able to come up with a complete character concept until tomorrow. (Especially since I always need a lot of time to think of something fancy...)
So I guess I won´t make it in the team. That opens the door for another techfreak since the group appears to lack a hacker or rigger with decent matrix ability`s at the moment.

Anyway hope you have fun with this run(s) and if there becomes a spot free later, I would be glad to join you then.

The reason the runners got together is probably because a fixer thought that their skills where complementary and threw them together.
