So, I'm making a character that's invisible through technological means and I have the optical covered through use of ruthenium polymers and thermal dampening, but how does one make an infiltrator invisible to people using technological means to locate my position? For instance I think I could still be detected because of my cyberware, comm, and smartgun systems, right? how do I fix that problem without interfering with my own functions?

Is there a way to suppress the light caused by discharging a firearm? I know that you can suppress the heat.

Also, is there any way to make yourself harder to view/track in the astral(without purchasing qualities or becoming a magic user)?

Cyberware and smartlinks can be easily fixed by using DNI and skinlinks rather than leaving the wireless functionality on.  Keep your commlink in hidden mode, with a good firewall, and don't use it unless you absolutely have to communicate with other team members.  Sensors are harder to deal with.  Remember that an ultrasound sensor of your own can be set to passive mode, to detect enemy ultrasound.

Radar can be jammed, although jamming pretty much lets the enemy know that they have incoming hostiles.  I think you're overthinking with the muzzle flash - if you are mostly invisible, the brief flare of your gun going off is unlikely to alert anyone.  As long as you suppress the sound, you should be okay.

Astrally, there is not much you can do, although manatech such as FAB grenades can help.  Try to go through areas that you know are warded or have a background count.  Go indoors where astral visibility is limited, and astral beings can't take as much advantage of their three-dimensional movement.  Go somewhere underground.

Thank you for your assistance. I will attempt to research and follow your advice. I'm new to playing a stealth focused character.

What book is DNI Smartlink from? Chummer can't seem to find it. I can only find reference to it online. Can't I just use cables and a normal smartlinked gun with my datajack?

The skinlink is in the basic rules.  It is listed under commlink accessories, but it can be used on other electronic devices.  Because skinlinked devices send and receive data through the electrical field on the surface of metahuman skin, they are proof against detection and jamming (unless an enemy hacker can get close enough to actually touch you).

Alright. I'm back with more questions. Can Skinlink function through armor? Does Cybersafety count as wireless for the purposes of being detected? Cant you use both Skinlink and Dermal Sheath together? Is there any way to not use Skinlink, but get the same effect?

Also, I discovered that Thermal Suppressors actually reduce muzzle flash as well as heat.
