So here's the challenge.  Create a completely mundane character, no augmentation, no awakened qualties, hmm.. no surge or other non-standard character types.

Here's my attempt:
Mr Black ex-company man, trouble-shooter for hire.
Mr Black is an ex-Mitshuma company man whose past exploits for his corporation only led to lose and pain.  Fortunately he made an ally with a Yakuza captain who helped facilitate his exit from his corporate family.
Now Mr Black is for hire.  He specialises in soft infiltration, smooth talking his way into corporate events and headquarters, before liquidating his target.  He usually uses his trusted Ares Slivergun, but he has an array of other grenades at his disposal for messier jobs and making an exit.  Fearing augmentation, Mr Black is completely mundane and in fact fairly low tech.  This means that he focuses on bringing down his target quickly, quietly or getting the heck out of dodge if it does blow up.

Best bet (IMHO) for an unaugmented, mundane runner would be a drone rigger. You buy drones for most of your money, a high tech commlink with HotSim and optimization for command, high gunnery and pilot skills, edge and willpower as high as you can get, and you're pretty much set. You will have 3-4 initiative passes (in VR) and with the right drones, you can do reconnaissance or fire support pretty easily. You might also be able to supplement this with some hacking skills and tools.

I'd give him Sensitive System. Otherwise there's really no reason not to get some 'ware. Also, it's cheap BP :D
Lightning Reflexes should also be a good choice, but has to be discussed regarding drug intiative enhancements. Usually groups agree, drugs stack with everything.

Sorry, but he just doesn't have as much heart as the Jack of All Trades.

In more seriousness, I agree with Charansaya. This assassin has some major problems, because (a) he's not taking advantage of the one thing he can do that an augmented character can't, which is spend all his money on stuff and (b) he's chosen to be mediocre-to-not-actually-any-good at a bunch of things that augmented and awakened characters can easily do a whole lot better and cheaper.

LR is quite clear about being "not cumulative with any other Reaction or Initiative enhancement," there's really no way to argue that it means "except for drugs."

i suspect that a mundane guy isnt going to stack up too well to cybered dudes and mages for obvious reasons.
would it not be better to give the guy a role or niche to fill?
how about a combat medic? high biomed skill and decent kit would be useful for patching up the boys when they get filled full of holes.
likewise a mechanic/armourer would be very useful to a team outside of combat, he could maybe also use a few drones to assist in combat or recon during legwork phase of a mission.
a smuggler type could be cool as well, maybe has a boat, diving skills and an absolute stack of contacts, giving your team new options for infil/exfil and being able to help massively during legwork through your contact net and access to good weapon merchants.
you could even afford a basic chopper!

basically all i'm trying to say is that if your skills or stats arent bringing much to the team, then your gear should. you dont want your team mates feeling that they're doing all the hard work and carrying you after all.

At least true mundanes are the only ones who can fully utilize the Immortal Flower, since they have no ware to be rejected and suffer no real consequences for losing .1-2 essence compared to unaugmented adepts.

get high on edge, get a big expensive sniper rifle, get high on drugs and you can take out a few enemies in a fight as long as oyu got edge ready...
(edge to go first, edge to increase hits make a called shot for +4 damage... that should be enough for a single target)

gain all the martial arts stuff you could potentially use because it' counts as mundane...

you will either go hacker,command-rigger,drugs-addict or support character with this challenge
you probably want do dump as much BP into karma and Nuyen as possible
you will probably end up human because:
a) karma
b) hey look a troll, although it looks like the mage and the MAD scanner don't detect anything... let's be on the safe side anyway...
(of course ork/elf with human looking would work with the low profile mundane char)

but then you're still lacking a real benefit of the approach...
so we need to build a little niche that fits us...
I'ld redirect the challange to:
make a completely mundane (noncriminal) SIN-er who's got only legal to posses items and is actually usefull
and then a human looking elven face type char comes to my mind who is absolutely free to go everywhere, (maybe give him a day job as a reporter? for priviliges and explanation why he always runs around in the vicinity of crime scenes)
who will by nature not aim with a gun but with a camera and shot pictures instead of bullets (so you can tell the story and blame the bad companies and heroify the team runners maybe?)

maybe martial arts him up so he is not defenseless and can maybe surprise assassinate victims other peoples can't get a hold on that easily...

btw. Having Cybereyes or a Datajack still counts as completely mundane. And breast implants.

I tried this years ago, called him "Dan Moon" but I no longer have the Chummer file. He was the quintessential support guy: electronics, explosives, heavy weapons, pilot skills, exotic weapons, etc.

Had a lot of drones, a good Command program, and could fix just about anything. I'll hafta rebuild the guy from memory when I get home.

I stand by my opinion, that cosmetic implants and run-off-the-mill 'ware is excluded from "no augmentation" by the OP's subconscious intent. Depending on a group's setting, running around with full 6 essence might even make you a freak. And people in the middle class would call you cheap.

I would like to see a 'mundane' character as was suggested, fill a particular role.

There is no reason not to have more than one character, one of which is very specialized in a fewer areas.

I'm used to game systems where the DM(GM) assigns themselves such characters to help the narative campaign world along.
Players can have such a character at their own disposal.

Thank you maki for interpreting my subconscious intent... However I would say anything which causes essenc lost would fall under my no augmentation criteria.  Not sure about cosmetic sugey?  Probably wouldn't make much difference...

ah btw you could also go for the "fake implant" ware that you actually wear not implant from... what was the book... ? attitude maybe?
you can stuff a little ware inside there to go with
