4d6.hits(5)=2
So I see where I messed up on this roll. I shouldn't have included the .hits(5) for this roll. That being said, this roll yields 17, not 2, so my starting Nuyen is 17x100=1700 Y. I don't fully understand how the left over Nuyen from creation works.
Also, do we pay our first month's rent now?
Left over unspent nuyen goes away. To "keep" the money, most people buy the appropriately sized credsticks in my experience. I'm not sure this is the in the spirit of the original intention (which is to make sure you don't get 250,000 at character generation, spend 20,000 and keep the rest) but it works for me.
Regarding the day job flaw, don't worry about it too much at the moment. At my tables, I usually figure the percentage of the week that you would be working and then use that to determine if your job duties intersect with a run. I haven't done that yet for you all. For those with day jobs (there are two), assume this first day is a day off.
I think everyone has already paid one month's rent at character generation so you're good for probably the entire purpose of this game. If we expand beyond this session in some way, it might come into play at that time.
Finally, I got yelled at by my boss for yesterday morning's focus on SR stuff so today I've had to not do that so much. I'll try to get to the IC post this evening, but I have to drive to Boston to pick up my wife at the airport later so it might be tomorrow.
