yes, depending on the number of hits. For non-living targets, you have to beat the object resistance.

Conversely, you can also have a situation where someone wearing gear with a low object resistance might shrug the powerball off just fine, but his clothes disintegrate, leaving him standing there naked. Remember, spells like Demolish Pants are just a limited version of Powerball.

Actually did something like this two games ago. My mage cast a Force 8 Blast (stun damage all kinetic like a punch) at an enemy mage and got 8 hits... My GM ruled that most of the stuff in the room that wasn't made of metal reacted like it had been punched for 16 damage... The guys Com was gone, the furniture all around him was broken and it made for an awesome effect to the guy we were there to talk to... A mundane watching his living room and kitchen break down in a second tends to not fight you.

Side note, absorption is a great meta to have, full soak up some spells and then watch your GM's face when you tell them you have to resist 3 drain from a high force spell.

Targeting of spells is not quite purely sight-based, it is mystic link based which requires sight to establish... but objects in close relation to the target, such as clothes or worn armor, do nothing to restrict that mystic link.

...so I'd say that since a full-body jumpsuit including gloves, goggles, and respirator doesn't make the wearer immune to being targeted by spells - the underwear between the body and the jumpsuit don't get special treatment either.

A lot of armor and similar gear is considered highly processed, so I wouldn't be surprised if math-lite GMs preferred to say "we'll consider the armor along with the person. If they make it, I don't want them to be standing in his whities". Just one option, though, those object resistance thresholds are there.

Didn't say it wasn't. That's exactly why i have it, for that -6 or higher on everything they do. xD I just said "Usually". xD
