Can you use the chameleon modification without buying the dermal sheath rating for armor? I only want the chameleon effect, not the armor rating. It seems like you can, because only the rating 3 dermal sheath covers your whole body, but chameleon modification always offers the same effect, implying that it covers the whole body, regardless of the rest of the sheath.

A Rating 3 dermal sheath may also be further modified by adding an expert sensor suite that scans and replicates the surroundings to function similar to a chameleon suit
I think that'd be a no ...

If you wanted the non-chameleon ruthenium on your non-full body dermal sheath, that'd probably work out.

I think the point is that the chameleon coating is a procedure that can be done because you have the dermal sheating, OP. Without it it would, presumably, be too painful, or your body couldn't support it, etc

Now, the question becomes... how normal could you look with the package in place?

Visually? It's a flexible video screen bonded to your skin, capable of rendering you almost invisible by recreating surrounding scenery, & updated in read time ... I don't think you get much more realistic than that.

Texture? That one probably depends / varies a bit more.

Exactly my point. Personally, my general rule of thumb is: When In Doubt, Sort By Grade.

By that, I mean "fluff" considerations (like Dermal Sheath being able to blend in) tilt in the user's favor as Grade increases, with Deltaware being nearly, but not quite, perfect.
