story elements have come together in such a way that a character of mine became a Ghost in the Machine AI upon her physical death. She remembers very little except for the identity of a CEO for one of the almost megacorps that where created in this game. This man wants to redesign her old body and use a Node or some kind of cyber brain that she can inhabit as an AI. I looked at the cyborgs but they seem to just involve a human brain. Do any of you have an idea on where I should look for the making of this drone body for the AI?

options I'm considering are;
1. biogrown/cyber enhanced body using computer brain for AIs home node
2. purely cyberbody with home node in the "brain" of the body
3. drone made similar looking to old body, AI still mainly dwells on matrix and simply "jumps" in

other thing to consider
she has Judas and the rolls we did indicate there's enough subconscious memory for her to still have some preprogrammed action from the trigger, though it may be corrupted from when her spirit entered the matrix.

What you want is a Mitsuhama Otomo, or rather an "Equivalent Model" that changes the Cyborg Adaptation out for a better Mimic system.

Humanoid drone with a Mimic System, which can look like any Metahuman from Dwarf to Troll.

Sounds like you can run it a bit like Robocop except without any biological component.

If it was really being done like this, your ghost mind wouldn't have admin control of the node in the drone and there would be any number of hidden programs lurking within that you wouldn't have any knowledge of. Regular checkups would ensure that your memory would be cleared of any 'anomalies' as you may eventually start becoming aware of some of these hidden programs.

What reasons would a CEO of an almost-megacorp have of wanting to create a drone inhabited by a thinking 'ghost'/A.I. and able to pass as a metahuman? There are possibilities like an assassin drone aimed at another corporation, or to conduct industrial espionage. There might even be the Robocop angle where leaders of soldiers or law enforcement  might prefer using a drone in hazardous/combat zones rather than a living body - a successful deployment could result in huge security contracts for the corp.

ah ty both for some insight!

I left the original Judas up to the DM so it is still a mystery, however when I first started this character I set up a 6/6 contact with the man who became CEO of the large corp. My character ran several ops for him, "she suspected their runs played a part of this". of course now memories about why she has this contact and how he got where he is are.....too shattered for her to piece together at this time. We had decided at character creation that she and the 'CEO' have an almost lifelong history.

as for his reasons for investing in this, those are not completely known but from what I do know it sounds like industrial espionage and keeping an eye on this new group of runners to make sure they complete their mission. She may even have a kill before capture command in her. (I'm actually thinking thats whats in there)

1st... go for a Drone it is way less complicated... rules wise and for the buying part aswell
evo orderly is a good start, add false front or similar
(You can later on when you can afford it switch to an Otomo)

2nd... be aware that assensing is the easiest way to make certain you are indeed not a living being

3rd if you really want to make a living being into a Shell for your AI... read through running wild with the stirrup interface and the cyberzombie section...
then go to the search function of this forum and find a couple (I started one myself some time back there is another one going on right now) of threads that handle
the idea of a) stirrup interface into a human, b) build a human from scratch with just cyberlimbs, c) take a vat grown clone add cyberlimbs and use it as a drone
all of them are in the area of houserules

4th keep the debate about everything related to 3rd out of this thread if you want to have viable opinions about the Character and not about rules snafu

good news here, dm thought we'd have to follow cyborg rules. He was ready to go through the whole 250,000 cost that cyborgs have. The Mitsuhama Otomo is 100,000 cheaper. With that in mind.....there is definitely room to play.

On the assensing front, Spy Games may provide a way to mitigate, if not outright shut down a mage giving you the awakened eye - *if* you can get your GM to agree that astral sight counts as a "traditional detection method". Page 141, alternate materials & advanced materials. You're looking at an extra 2 to 4 times the cost, though.

okay, currently I have the anniversary 4e book, arsenal, augmentation, unwired and various runner companion types books. the  drone I am looking at conditioning for the AI has body 6 arms 0 sensor 3.   Can some one point me to the book or section that tells me what this all means? and how do I know what kind of slots I have for mods?

Definite advantage to just jumping in the body:If you're captured, you can just leave the body. No fear of torture.

the AI definitely plans to dump its host if its host is beyond escaping hehehe. However the AI is also hoping to accomplish her goals without resorting to getting into the same entanglements as her runner companions

Corebook and Arsenal are your friend...
Corebook read everything about drones
Runners companion read everything about AIs
Arsenal read about the Mitsuhama Otomo... (read the errata if you don't have the 2070 arsenal it has updates to the otomo)

If you want to spend more money onto to the drone read the Arsenal vehicle/drone modification rules and list...
Ask your GM if you ignore recoil because you are a drone or if you need to go with body=recoil compensation (rules found in arsenal)
If you need to go with body, ask if you can install a cyberarm gyromount into your drone.

Maybe read about drone software in unwired... if you are able to use them. (autosofts)

P.S. for AIs I'ld advise Exceptional Attribute and a 5/5/5/7 Stat Array... you pay extra for the hard cap but you are a rating 6 AI now and get a couple of Advantages which is worth it.

thank you! I went with a 5575 array, might be the most "optimized" but it sticks close to my original character concept and gets me the rating 6! what I need to figure out right now is the node ratings for drones.

node ratings are 3 for every drone except when it's a security drone then it's 4... the only exception to this are military drones which have a rating of 5...

In war there is a listing of every drone which is considered a military drone for this purpose.
