BattleHawk Squad Level Loitering Munition

looks like SR needs to catch up to the tech curve a bit
Tech dreams of organic toys
And I'm runnin' out on the edge
Soft screams of the rockerboys
Echoing through my head

Sooooo... it's a $60,000 1 time-use version of a $60 1 time-use munition? ...

Awesome.

Thanks for spending our defense budget wisely DARPA.

It's just an R&D thing, it's not like they're going to be handing these out instead of 40mm 'nades.

Kind of like the laser-guidance system on concrete "test" bombs used in Libya.  Still wrecked tanks up but good!

You obviously haven't watched half of what DARPA turns out. I applaud their ingenuity, but I've yet to see anything come out of there that was practical OR not stolen from someone else. I vaguely remember them "inventing" the flechette for use in the 70mm "Hydra" rocket and other sub-munition capable platforms, with the design team receiving an award for their "accomplishment." Shadowrun tech is far ahead on this curve anyways, with the Arsenal Dragonfly suicide drone.

There are also mortar launched drones, and sensor suites that if I remember correctly can fit in any ammunition, if not only mortars. All available in your friendly jackpoint DL WAR!
