Heron listened as Sammy outlined her thoughts.
Well at least she knows Schwartzkopfs scale of manifestation strength.
But I think a self spirit will do nicely.

Closing his eyes momentarily he directed his mind inwards, conjuring a form for his self image.
Wassup chummer? I like the outfit! very minimalist.

Ahh so much easier when you're not bound and lying on the ground.

Summon F5 Spirit of Elf (8d6.hits(5)=3)
Optional power Innate Spell (Stunbolt)
Resist Summons (5d6.hits(5)=0)
Don't even need to resist any drain

Well that sounds a grand idea Sammy. We should get a move one before more wildlife gets made into chunky salsa by Johnny over there.
I'm Heron, and this here is also me.

Materializing into view is a tall elf dressed in current urban wear fashions, tastefully accessorized with an armor jacket. In fact if it weren't for the being able to see straight through him, he'd be Herons' twin.

So we're already summoning, Sammy thought, and spirits of man... or elf of ork.  whatever.  Her teacher had always called them spirits of man, but he was human.  Before she started her summoning, she first gave the rest of the group directions to the hunting lodge.  By concealing the group with two spirits, communication would be very difficult between the subgroups, so she wanted to make sure everybody knew where they had to go.

Next she started concentrating as she had been taught.  In her mind's eye she saw the pentagram of summoning, with the glyphs and runes correctly written around it.  If she had more time she would write out this pentagram, but like this it would also work.

summoning a force 5 spirit of man (optional power stunbolt)
magic 5 + summening 3 =8 (8d6.hits(5)=1)
Damn, only 1 hit
drain:
force 5 resistance (5d6.hits(5)=0)
luckily nothing, but only one service

A spirit materialised in front of her, looking a bit like her old professor.  But she felt it wouldn't do much for her, so she dismissed it and tried again, this time taking a bit more time to visualise the runes right in her mind's eye.  She was in unfamiliar surroundings, so that might have cost her some accuracy.  But the second spirit that came to her would be a bigger help, even though it looked exactly the same as the previous one.

Let's try that again (same thing, after dismissing the first):
magic 5 + summening 3 =8 (8d6.hits(5)=3)
and drainl:
force 5 resistance (5d6.hits(5)=0)
again nothing, so now I have three services.

"Now we just have to split up in two groups," she said, "it's at least one mage per group, but I would suggest we also put one good fighter in each group, put our wounded in one and the freaky techno in the other.  That makes both groups self-sustainable in case we get seperated."

"Makes sense" thought Clem. "I'll go with O'Connor, someone else can have the hikikomori" she said. She felt she had to help the ex-con after letting him down. That and she didn't want to babysit Red through his delusions.

O'Connor turned away from the group as a look of frustration came across his face, Dog food, wounded, fuck you guys. I'm a badass god dammit! And now it looks like this Clem chick is going to be hovering around me out of guilt for a while. I don't need a fuckin' babysitter so long as my own teammates aren't screwin' me over. As he soothed his pride, a thought came to him, Well it's not all bad I suppose. One of the naked chicks is going be in my group, and there's no reason the other naked chick shouldn't be in my group as well, especially one that's a dead ringer for Samantha Delavine. I wonder how much work it took to turn herself into a replica of the actress. He suppressed a lecherous smile as he turned to speak to Sammy, "So who's the other one on our team then?"

Sam had trouble not laughing as O'Connor tried to flirt with the mage, despite being covered in blood and...dreck, that's brain, isn't it? Damnit, I knew I shouldn't look too closely! He was surprised to find that the ork knew Japanese, which made him wonder if she'd also understood his earlier conversation with the red-headed elf. Probably not, but still, might not be a bad idea to be out of her way for a bit...

"Ma'am, I've seen some of your trids; I didn't realize that you were as talented a mage as your characters. There are so many fakers these days, as I'm sure you're aware. Might I suggest that you accompany this poor elf; since he's a 'net-head, he probably has your filmography stored, and going over the data with him could help work through his...current condition. I'll be going with him as well; he seemed to respond well to me earlier. Perhaps, between the two of us, we'll be able to restore at least a small amount of coherence, at least until we find some tech that he can chat with." Sam fired one of his better smiles at the actress, hoping that the flattery (and his competition's current state) would win her over.

"No storage."

Fionn was finally coming back into coherency.  I cannot assume the worst.  Unless I am given cause to believe otherwise, I must proceed as if I'm simply in a dead zone.  It fits the facts, and suggests a course of action.  Realizing that what he'd just said didn't make nearly as much sense as he'd hoped, he elaborated. "Emergence may confer many blessings, but we still don't have any sort of storage memory.  Part of the reason why so many of us carry cheap comms."

As he brought his head up and looked around at his surroundings, it became clear to him that he hadn't really taken notice of events around him.  Bloody hell, whatever that thing used to be its a complete mess now...  "Must apologize for...  Whatever it was that I was just doing, but I think maybe I missed something...  What's going on now?"  His affect was still scattered, with trailing pauses marking his speech - but at least he could communicate.

Sam barely missed a beat. "Ah, as one recent re-arrival to another, I'd like to welcome you back to the land of the coherent, my friend. We were just discussing how to best reach the charming, rustic hunting lodge located by this lovely young mage here. Apparently she and Stilts over there"--he pointed to Heron and his semi-transparent apparition--"can help to shield us from unwanted attention, but they say we need to split into two groups. Binary, I think you tech-heads call it. Since I don't want to be around when the rest of that...thing's...pack comes back for revenge, I heartily suggest we pick travelling companions quickly."

Yes, I know Torley's using the word "binary" wrong. I'm a computer programmer IRL, so it's almost painful for me to have him say it, but it's very much in character.  :-\ The things we do for art...

So groups of four, easy. So me, the tech head, the talker, and Sammy. The other group is Ms Amazon, O'Connor, Icarus, and the other mage Heron . Unless anybody has a problem with that?” He glanced around with a hard smile. “I could be a lot more polite if people told me their names. I just want to get to this lodge soon so someone can try to explain to me what the hell is going on.

Clem ignored Johnny's nicknames. They didn't have time to argue who was going to be traveling with who so Clem decided to agree with what Johnny had decided. "That sounds like as good a plan as any. So, shall we?" And with that, Clem moved away from Johnny and the rest, and moved towards Heron.

"Sounds like a plan," Sammy said.  While she was used to dealing with fanboys, normally she wasn't naked when doing so.  Well, except that one time, but that had been fun.  Now she had to focus on getting back to civilization.

She brought her group over and requested that her spirit used his powers of guarding and concealment on this group and himself until she asked him to stop, with the provision that the group members themselves were excempt from the concealment power on each other.  That way they could at least see each other.  She also told them to stay close together as they needed to stay in line of sight of the spirit, who would bring up the rear.

With that she started walking downhill, hopefully towards civilization, or at least towards a hot shower and some clothes.

O'Connor shrugged mentally as his "brilliant" plan crashed and burned, It was worth a shot. He watched Sammy's group slip in and out of his perception as they headed off. He turned to his own group, "Guess its time to move out." O'Connor started heading out without waiting for a response, taking point, or whatever the military jargon was. He was banged up all to hell, but that wasn't going to stop him from playing the part of badass or hero, besides it was obvious his reputation among the group needed improving. He'd always been told that his vanity and pride would be the death of him, but there was no way in hell he was going to let everyone's small slights against him stand, especially when what happened wasn't even his damn fault.

Sam nodded at the Asian man's suggestion. Good, looks like I'll be travelling with the best fighter in this rag-tag group, he thought, eyeing his still-bloody hands. Between him and the mage, I should do all right.

Quickly, he grabbed one of the discarded sacks, dropped four fist-sized rocks into it, and slung it over his shoulder before hurrying after the actress. Catching up to her, he asked, "How good is this spirit-hiding thing? Do we need to stay quiet, or can we actually talk to each other?"

"It's not like invisibility or stealth," Sammy said, "it makes it harder to find us, but not impossible.  So I suggest we speak as little as possible and if we have to, as silent as possible.  Just to make sure."

Sam nodded, slipped into line behind the mage, and started walking as quietly as he could.

The day was starting to look like it might actually not be all that bad. He still didn't have any idea where he was, or what he was doing with all of these strange people, but the sun was shining, the birds singing, and they were going towards a man-made shelter. Which meant walls, safety, and with any luck, supplies. And he certainly couldn't complain about the view.

General note: I'm assuming that the GM will either take care of any needed infiltration rolls directly, or call for them as needed.
