O'Connor rolled his eyes as he got out of the vehicle. His voice dripped with sarcasm, "Oh, you don't say. Here I was thinkin' it would pass as a walking stick."

"Let's take this base, now. How long has it been abandoned? Any chance there's some old vehicles that'd still run tucked away somewhere?"

"Not abandoned, reclaimed.  When the Salish took responsibility for this area we did a pretty good job of cleaning the place up.  T-Birds probably have a few little hidey holes and favored runs, but we keep that to a minimum.  That is the biggest problem we have, the smugglers tearing through the place."  Running Bear said, "But this area is more of a passthrough for them, the real operations are up around Seattle and out to the east."

The local Ares-Mart (yep, I decided that is who ended up with it and what it got renamed) is fairly typical of the brand, though allowing for a certain regional flavor and operating in a capacity consistant with the Nation regulations on mega-corp access.  As happens in most rural communities, it has become a location of note for the less well to-do to congregate and do a majority of their day-to-day shopping.  Although you still feel especially exposed considering the racial make-up is Amerind, there are a few others wandering around that let you know you aren't completly alone.

Security-wise, the place is a joke, other than standard theft deterrent procedures, the plan is basically to make sure one the rediculous unsubtle security cameras catches whatever criminal act may occur and then pass it up the corporate chain to be dealt with.  That end of things can get pretty serious though, there was a group of smash-and-grabbers that hit several locations down in the CAS, when Lone Star caught up with them all but one had to be wheeled into their arraignment after they had 'resisted arrest'.

The disposble commlinks are in a locked case along with other small electronics, that doubles as the secondary checkout for the electronics area.

Ikari kept pace with the group, taking a mental tally of security between the SUV and the electronics section, looking around for notable blind spots or anywhere that might solely rely on staff or electronic surveillance.

"Either of you have anything to hurry back to in Seattle? Not that I'm fishing for details." he asked, with a glance toward O'Connor, then Clem.

O'Connor glanced about, making sure no one was in earshot, "I got a vendetta to see to in the city, but that ain't exactly time pressin'. I just wanna get back before they forget 'bout me, an' think they're safe."

"I have a life to go back to if that's what you're wondering" answered Clementine to Ikari. "Nothing in the realm of full-time employment though. Just a place to stay and bills to pay."

O'Connor lowered his voice so that no one might over hear him, "This ain't a job I'm being paid for Red, this is personal. I don't want 'em to relax an' feel safe. I want 'em to spend the rest of their very short lives afraid an' lookin' over their shoulders. I want 'em to know that even with all their strength gathered an' on alert, there was nothin' they could do to stop me. I want 'em to fall to their knees an' know how helpless they are as I burn down their whole fuckin' world."

"They betrayed me, an' got me send to prison. An' they're smallish I suppose. They ain't a top tier gang playing kings of the Barrens, but they ain't small fries fighting over a few blocks either."

Fionn checked to make sure they were still not being listened in on.  "Well, you know my rule - not gonna help you kill them.  All the same, you and I should grab a beer and talk when we get back home; if you're looking to fuck up their lives good and proper or even just more generally mess with their heads, it may just be something I can help you with.  Besides, I'm buying."

Building some bridges will at least help me make it home in one piece...  I'd rather not be left out in the cold as soon as trouble starts, after all.  His thoughts having reminded him of something, Fionn almost smacked himself in the head for his oversight.

"Given our lack of success so far, perhaps you should alter the parameters of this investigation, hm?"  He fired a message off to the sprite he'd registered the previous night.

"You said you'd provide new information when you had it, boy.  Out with it."  The response was growled more than spoken; it was clear this particular hunter had little patience for the indirect.

"Whatever happened to us happened out in Tír Tairngire, on the other side of the Columbia.  Based on that area, and a window of time 16 hours from when we blacked out, it should be possible to get a list together of incidents that could be cover stories for what happened to us.  From the other side of the question, looking into the activities of my fake SIN would likely yield enough information to put together some kind of timeline.  Probably going to need to replace it after all this is done, though."

Now, then, let's take a look at the security here...  Not like they're gonna have spent all that much on it, so it can't be too bad.  Fionn walked on ahead of the rest of the group and into the store, taking a good look around at their tech layout.  Remembering that the hunter sprite was otherwise engaged at the moment, he browsed towards the middle of the building and rebuilt his lighthouse construct to search out anything hidden in the area.

Data Search, 15 minutes, incidents in outlined area. (12d6.hits(5)=5, 12d6.hits(5)=4, 12d6.hits(5)=2, 12d6.hits(5)=2, 12d6.hits(5)=5, 12d6.hits(5)=5, 12d6.hits(5)=2, 12d6.hits(5)=7, 12d6.hits(5)=5, 12d6.hits(5)=4, 12d6.hits(5)=5, 12d6.hits(5)=4, 12d6.hits(5)=4, 12d6.hits(5)=4, 12d6.hits(5)=2)

60 hits.

Data Search, 15 minutes, lookup on fake SIN. (12d6.hits(5)=3, 12d6.hits(5)=6, 12d6.hits(5)=4, 12d6.hits(5)=4, 12d6.hits(5)=4, 12d6.hits(5)=2, 12d6.hits(5)=3, 12d6.hits(5)=7, 12d6.hits(5)=6, 12d6.hits(5)=2, 12d6.hits(5)=3, 12d6.hits(5)=1, 12d6.hits(5)=3, 12d6.hits(5)=3, 12d6.hits(5)=1)

52 hits.

Threading test for Scan complex form. (6d6.hits(5)=2)

Scan CF threaded to rating 2.

Fading resistance for Threading, DV2. (12d6.hits(5)=3)

Fading fully resisted.

Detect Hidden Node, Electronic Warfare 4 + Scan 2, Interval 1 Combat Turn, threshold 15. (6d6.hits(5)=2, 6d6.hits(5)=1, 6d6.hits(5)=2, 6d6.hits(5)=2, 6d6.hits(5)=1, 6d6.hits(5)=2, 6d6.hits(5)=5, 6d6.hits(5)=1, 6d6.hits(5)=1, 6d6.hits(5)=2)

Threshold reached in 7 Combat Turns.  This is being done from roughly the centre of the building.  Fionn's signal range is 400m.

Additionally, he's taking the Detect Active/Passive Nodes action to detect everything within his Signal range running in active or passive mode.

Clem hangs back as Fionn enters the electronics shop. She looks around the mall, but more specifically looks at their security, focusing on the store itself.

Just a basic knowledge check Log 3 + Security Design 4 (7d6.hits(5)=2)

Once she's had a good look, she gets in the store, browsing everything and nothing at the same time.

Deciding not to rely overmuch on the one sprite he had registered at the moment, Fionn called out for a tracker.  Interestingly, the summons was not at all resisted - the Otherworldly fox that appeared before him seemed almost eager.  He made a mental note to look into why sprites were responding to him in such unusual ways.

"I have before me trails three, and I would know what is at their ends.  Are you willing to assist me?"

"But of course," Came the reply - there was something sly about it, some intention he couldn't place, and that concerned him a little.  "Is that all you require?"  Fionn almost sent the sprite off with only that request, but realized he was leaving some dangerous details out.

"It is also vital that they do not become aware of my interest, sidhe.  I trust this presents no trouble to you?"  The creature vanished from his view, beginning at the tail and moving forward until the eyes were all he could see.

"Of course not."  And it was gone.

Trace User (first subscription). Extended Computer+Track, interval 1 Complex Action. 5 intervals rolled. (10d6.hits(5)=4, 10d6.hits(5)=3, 10d6.hits(5)=4, 10d6.hits(5)=5, 10d6.hits(5)=2)

Trace User (second subscription). Extended Computer+Track, interval 1 Complex Action. 5 intervals rolled. (10d6.hits(5)=3, 10d6.hits(5)=4, 10d6.hits(5)=3, 10d6.hits(5)=2, 10d6.hits(5)=4)

Trace User (third subscription). Extended Computer+Track, interval 1 Complex Action. 5 intervals rolled. (10d6.hits(5)=1, 10d6.hits(5)=3, 10d6.hits(5)=4, 10d6.hits(5)=5, 10d6.hits(5)=6)

That should give me a successful trace on all three subscriptions.

Sammy was in the diner, chatting with Heron some of the patrons who came in.  While the cook had stopped fussing over her, he still pointed her out to every new person arriving in his establishment.
