I'm new to Shadowrun and am trying to build a character using the 4ed Anniv. book. I'm building a troll street sam/meat shield combat monster, for use in a local missions game. Everything is pretty straight forward until I get to customized cyber limbs (pg 343 SR4A). Standard limbs come with Bod, Agi, and Str values of 3? Custom limbs can be raised for the cost of 1500 nuyen/point and increase the availability rating by 1. As a troll with 10 bod, 4 Agi and 10 Str to bring a limb up to these ratings would get a little ridiculous and the availability would be higher than 12, technically barring it from purchase at creation? Am I reading this right or do they start at your levels plus three, which seems a bit much? Should I get an arm, bump the ratings up a bit or should I just save up for a few runs before I start getting all chromed out and then just blow the cash on some possible betaware levels? If my arm is 3's-5's across the board whats the benefit of even having it(besides cyberguns and other cool stuff) if my base in two of those stats is 5? would my meat arms break someone's face a little better than a creation level cyber limb? want I want from my arms is to be able to grab/rip something from the area and turn it into a giant makeshift club...like the axle to a small pickup truck when the drek hits the fan.

You want to use full cyberlimbs because you have low physical stats. If you have high stats, you want to use Muscle Toner/Muscle Augmentation instead.

Take a look at the Bad Enough Trog in my signature (first link) for an example of a troll with cyberlimbs that sounds similar to what you are looking for.

Thanks a ton for answering that. Also that Trog probably has me asking myself more questions about this character, but thanks for definitely putting me on the right path with this.
