Personally I'm pretty okay with varying power levels. I'm a newb, so it's to be expected that my guy is a little worse. That said, I'll be be tinkering with Tink to try and make her suck a little less.

Still pretty attached to the ridiculous cyber-arm, though.

Anyway, biggest note: max optimization is definitely not required. ~15 dice is a reasonable pool for a primary skill, I think; I'd rather have you be good at one thing and pretty good at a few other things than be mind-bendingly awesome at one thing only. (This is my fault as well, because I should know better than to trust Chummer's dice pool estimates by now. Check the auxiliary gear, Wolf.)

So does that mean Rhat and All4Biguns need to rebuild at this point? We seem to have two distinct party power levels. Three of us have built characters in that about 15 dice pool range and All4BigGuns and Rhat have made characters in the 20+ dice pool range. I don't mean to carp on power level, but especially considering that All4BigGuns came in after me and tried to poach my role with a more optimized character it is a concern.

To be clear, I have to worry about split dice pools - which is the only reason I've pushed the pool that high.  Also, Guns has, legitimately, had that character sitting around for while.

And neighbours who are friendly to you aren't necessarily at all nice to outsiders.

I can see that.

I like the varying power levels too. Its like letting the little guy get into the game with the big guys as well. May make balacing a little difficult but its definitely doable. Especially since our big hitters are focused on splitting their pools while everyone else is focus firing.

This line must be a relatively new addition. Originally made the character as proof that Adepts didn't need bio-ware implants to be good, but after a bit I found that I really wanted to play him (original version was on 750 karma and had the same pool with the sword).

As for my free contacts, here they are. Didn't bother with a Fixer because I was told we'd be getting one.
Dr. Silas (Street Doc) (Connection 2, Loyalty 5)- Mentioned in the background, competent human street doc Tink pretends to work for. They're intended to be very close; let me know if I should bump that loyalty up to 6 to reflect that.
Hotzenplotz (Arms Dealer) (Connection 3, Loyalty 2)- German orc weapons dealer. Their relationship is strictly professional, but Tink's becoming a regular.

Suggestions:  Pop your agility up to 6, even if you have to lose a point of Edge to do it.  Rather than 2 Firearms skills at 5, decide on a primary (I'm guessing Automatics) and make that 6, with the other at 4.  You do not get a large enough dice pool to be using two firearms at once.  Submachine Guns are better than Machine Pistols, and still one-handers; given your pistols secondary you don't even need the sole advantage of MPs (Concealability), so maybe switch to a good SMG.  The Ingram Smartgun X is always a good choice from the core book.  This also means you can drop Ambidextrous.  You could easily get some extra points to work with by grabbing SINner, maybe Spirit Bane, and perhaps Sensitive Neural Structure, Scorched, or Incompetent in a skill she wouldn't be any good with.  That said, you're not leaving a lot of ground to work with by limiting yourself to just the core book.

Certainly think about taking some points out of Edge to use for your other attributes.  The whole "high Edge for newbies" advice is for BP, where it's not counted against your attribute spending cap.  Maybe invest some points into Longarms and/or Heavy Weapons so that you're a it more of the toolbox character - you have reasonable facility with the tools needed to solve a lot of different problems.  Grab at least Pilot Groundcraft so that you're reasonably good with your bike, and put some points into Matrix skills - not a lot, and not stuff like Hacking, but enough that you can at least begin to protect your gear from getting hacked if the team's hacker can't help you right away.

With the Pilot Groundcraft, since you're not a Rigger, Bewilderbeast, you can do fine with that skill going Pilot Groundcraft 1 with a specialty in Wheeled (it is a valid specialty in the book no matter how some people denigrate it). Rhat is correct that you probably should go for some more NQs, not only does it round things out more from a character perspective, but it also gives you more points to build with.

A taller than average troll so pale that he almost resembles an albino. Mr Fabulous wears dark suits cut to resemble those of the 1950s and a stingy brimmed fedora in a matching shade. He is always impeccably dressed when in public. His voice is a basso rumble, like gravel soaked in honey.

== Background ==
Mr Fabulous grew up in the Redmond Barrens of Seattle and his date of birth and parentage are unknown. He was indestinguishable from any other troll street urchin until he lucked into a job cleaning up at a mafia connected boxing gym. Young Tony showed talent and a surprising amount of dicipline. The rigorous dicipline of boxing as taught by Mickey Pennino eventually resulted in Mr Fabulous becoming both a noted amateur boxer and an adept. Mickey also transmitted a love and knowledge of Jazz.

Mr Fabulous started paying his bills by doing odd jobs for the Seattle mob. He picked up a good knowledge of the culture and organization of the Seattle mob, but was never fully accepted becasue of his metahumanity. The transition to freelance criminal work was a natural one for Fabulous. Mr Fabulous has a light hand for a troll, and has earned a reputation for being reliable muscle with a long fuse.

He was indestinguishable from any other troll street urchin until he lucked into a job cleaning up at a mafia connected boxing gym. Young Tony showed talent and a surprising amount of dicipline. The rigorous dicipline of boxing as taught by Mickey Pennino eventually resulted in Mr Fabulous becoming both a noted amateur boxer and an adept. Mickey also transmitted a love and knowledge of Jazz.

Mr Fabulous started paying his bills by doing odd jobs for the Seattle mob. He picked up a good knowledge of the culture and organization of the Seattle mob, but was never fully accepted becasue of his metahumanity. The transition to freelance criminal work was a natural one for Fabulous. Mr Fabulous has a light hand for a troll, and has earned a reputation for being reliable muscle with a long fuse.

For a fist fighter used to taking on armed opponents disarm seemed like a pretty consistent choice actually.  Mr Fabulous is a Boxer, but he's also a street fighter who broke legs for the mob for quite awhile. 

As for the optimization issue, your characters are a heck of a lot more optimized than the first three characters posted and the argument that 21 dice and 15 dice with the same damage and reach are equal is pretty weak. Even the buffed version of Mr F left a lot on the table in terms of optimization, but now he has a reason to exist next to the character All4Guns posted that completely obsoleted him after I posted my build. He doesn't his as often, but hits harder and soaks a little better albeit with a smaller defense pool. At this point the two characters should compliment each other rather than have Guns just run all over me.

My preference would still be to go back to the original power level of the game, but I can live with this build if the GM decides that 20+dice builds are the order of the day.

Crunch, please don't make this out to be a conflict.  Wolf will weigh in on the sort of game he's after.

That said:  DV11 AP-1 puts you actually just a touch better than Guns, mathematically.  DV13 AP-3 starts to make you stronger, especially when you're also running around with the high soak pools.  You can easily afford to diversify without falling behind.

I'm seriously expecting the End Times, Guns and I have been on the same page for an unusually long period of time now...

You could add in some extra soak with Mystic Armour and/or Softweave gear, Pain Resistance might be highly beneficial (let's face it, Boxing Troll is gonna be an attack magnet), Supernatural Toughness could be handy for the same reason...  Given chargen initiation and Power Point metamagic are both in play, you can easily get more power points to work with.  Just a thought, but you probably should make sure you're prepped to take a pretty serious beating, and can do a little bit more for stealth that way too.

Oh, and so far as the free Contact points go, is that (Charisma+Ettiquette)*2 KP, or combined Loyalty and Connection?
