I make it a point to almost always have inline skates (increased movement speed), Satlink (you can google ANYWHERE), hollowed out object [book] (if it was good enough for Neo to hide his datachips in...), a large pile of spare datachips if I'm a tech character (the safest place to hide your files is offline) and handheld Radio Signal Scanner and Ultrwideband Radar package (for mapping of buildings and pinpointing node locations), frankly most of the sensors in general are super useful. And if I'm not playing a character with resonance or Magic, I usually get the sleep regulator bioware; ALL the free time!
Have your hacker overload a White Noise Generator to be a WHAT THE **** Noise Generator.
For the electronic equivalent of this, see the rules for jamming on the fly in unwired. Turns anything with a signal rating into an impromptu jammer (with strength depending on signal rating, yet another reason to get a satlink), and can even work to force you off the matrix if you are being traced (triggers dumpshock, and creates a screaming EM burst, but at least it closes your connection).

I've posted it somewhere else on these forums, but here is the standard "gear belt" I kit out my characters with.
Well I change up some of the stuff for what type of character it is, but most of it stays.

Belt Pouch (Military style utility belt)
 - Glue Sprayer (1 turn to harden. Str+Bod test vs pool of 10)
- Mini Welder (DV 15 vs Barriers)
- Zip Ties (Structure of 6.  20)
- Maglock Passkey LvL 6
- Leather Man  Powered Pocket tool (like our tool but has
Micro power tools. 30 min battery)
- Auto Picker LvL 6 (Gives me the Lockpicking skill)
- Gas mask
- Flashlight
- Stim / Trauma / Tranq / Antidote Patches 3 each
- Glow stiks (3)
- bottle of water & Protein bar
- Zippo lighter
- Universal nanidotes
- Evidence bags
Runing the shadows since '90
If you can't Dazzle them with STYLE, Riddle them with BULLETS.

as a standard load out i go for:
FFBA (non-conductivity 3+)
-add other layers as BOD allows. always get max armour rating possible, don't neglect impact armour!
usually put AR enhanced + colour changing on normal clothing so i can ditch a jacket for quick change of look + blend into a crowd.
-Glasses/monocle R4 with image enhance 3, zoom, low light and thermo (skinlinked)
-Contact lenses with image link, smartlink + skinlink.
-Headphones with audio enhance 3, spatial recognizer, micro-microphone, skinlinked.
-Backpack with survival kit, grapple gun + rope, gecko gloves, glass cutter, miniwelder, autopicker, maglock sequencer, loaded credstik, disposable commlink and a cheap pistol with spare clip of ammo. (gives B&E tools and enough kit on you to survive a few days if you absolutely have to escape mid-run)
-R3 commlink (minimum) with appropriate software suite, optimized (3) firewall 6 + stealth 3. DNI via cable or trodes, skinlinked.
-Vehicle with spoof chip, morphing plates, run flat tires + fake license for vehicle.
-1+ fake SIN(s)
-Concealable weapon (pistol sized), smartlinked and skinlinked

add other kit as appropriate for class/role
Speech
Thought
Matrix
Astral
Mentor

Way to pimp your book, CanRay.  :)

But it is an awesome book!

And funny enough that is the page I last viewed on iBooks from that book. Great source.

Usually i bring a shotgun, a car, some light armor, and a drone that could chase off all the angels of heaven. I usually end up as over-watch anyways so it's not a bad setup.

Tag eraser
USE IT ON EVERYTHING! It also scrambles non-optical circuits at GM's discretion. A steal at 150¥.

Endoscope
See round corners, over walls, and under bathroom doors without exposing your squishy body.

Rating 6 medkit
600¥ against your life? A high rating medkit can be a lifesaver.

200m microwire, rappelling gloves, wire clippers
Hundreds of uses. The clippers also come in handy when breaking and entering.

Optical binoculars
Because I'm old-fashioned. Also allows mages to cast at long range.

Ares predator IV
•Concealable holster
•Silencer
•2 spare clips
•50 regular bullets
A great gun. Cheap, effective, comes with a smartgun system built in. The accessories give you a bit of stealth.

Rating 3 contact lenses
•Flare compensation
•Low light
•Thermographic
Subtle and inconspicuous, these beauties allow you to see such a wide range of things that they should probably cost more than 500¥. You could swap one of the modules out for an image link if you think that'd be more useful.

Rating 2 goggles
•Image link
•Smartlink
For use with the Predator. It comes with a smartlink, why not use it?

Rating 1 earbuds, rating 2 audio enhancement
Lets you eavesdrop without looking conspicuous.

Meta link commlink & Vector Xim OS
Cheap as chips, use as a decoy for your main 'link.

Urban explorer jumpsuit with a helmet
Again, cheap and effective. The helmet is a no-brainer (or you will be if you don't use one), and the biomonitor is a nice extra to have.

2 thermal smoke grenades
For when you need to cut and run, these will give you space to make a break for freedom, and the extra 5¥ each is well worth being invisible to all those people who have thermographic vision.

Yamaha Growler
A good all-round transport. Decent armour, good speed, cheap. Only two people, but you can't have everything.

For those with essence to spare, an ear damper, a vocal range enhancer, a hearing enhancement and a sleep regulator offer the best basic package, for me. You get a voice that helps greatly with meets, you can communicate in a way others can't overhear (assuming that your chums also have the enhancements), can avoid deafening by sudden loud sounds (like flashbangs/firearms), and can hear things other people can't.
Be polite. Be efficient. Have a plan to kill everyone you meet.
