I knew a guy who had Tesla II pods in his basement after they VR World outfit he was with went under. He took donations and let you play as long as you wanted. Made for a terrific bachelor party for Outrider. Alas, the economy hit him hard and he had to sell off the pods. :(Y'know... I have never understood why anyone would use commercial steel shipping containers for any sort of long term housing.Lack of alternatives, just like living under a bridge or in a refrigerator box.
They are made of the absolute cheapest crap steel the manufacturer can find. As such they don't last. Most are only expected to survive a few trips on a container ship before being scrapped and melted down.

The Ork in AAS' picture above is from a Mission's adventure. SRM 03-11: Food Poisoning. AAS has been Missions' Interior Artist for the last year and a half or so, and I feel damn lucky to have him. :)And so you should! He mixes the high tech with low life quite excellently! Honestly, my one complaint is that his drawing are "TOO" clean, too precise. Just dirty up a bit, and it'll be nice and punk. ;D

Yeah, they're not the "Hollywood" version of Runners, but most of the seriously scary, spooky dudes^ don't look that way at all. In fact, generally the really, REALLY nasty customers look, most of the time, utterly bland, if not slightly goofy... like that "Cleaner" from Boondock Saints.

I'm honestly not imperssed with the CG art. Bad poser art looks like bad poser art. Plus, while I can see someone using that as the basis of "School girl assassin", there's nothing in the picture that's inherent to the assassin part. You could also use the exact same picture for "School girl cashier at wal-mart" or "hooker trying too hard" :)

For your average runner, odds are you have a street doc who has the full selection and can probably use workarounds and hacks to get things working well. But for you average SINner, whose wageslave job pays in corpscrip mostly redeemable only in their corp's stores, they get cyber which is made by their corp, emblazoned with corp logos, and, when it breaks down, it can only be fixed in his employer's clinics. He wants upgrades? He pays their clinic. You keep your people close and dependent. Just imagine: you've got a fine Ares cyberarm. You decide to jump ship to Renraku. Oh dear! Your software is outdated? Your hardware needs replacement? You'll either pay WAY more as a Renraku employee going to an Ares clinic, or you'll pay WAY more for getting the damn thing replaced for a Renraku one. Or you'll pay WAY more for a cyberdoc to do it... which is not covered by your insurance. ;)

Honestly, though, for the average person in the real world, someone who isn't equipped to deal with the sharks, barracudas, hard times, and other nastiness of true freedom, it's a much better deal. These days corporations will dump you in a heartbeat for someone younger that they can pay less, and they almost always promote from the outside. In the Sixth World they're milking you like a cow, sure, but they're also more invested in keeping you happy where you are.

The game is quite nice BTW. Story is a bit predictable but stays true to the original games of the 90s, and the game's universe (the Earth in 2069 dominated by warring megacorporations ruling over brainwashed salarymen) is a cool inspiration for Shadowrun.

This is based off of the Nelvana movie "Rock and Rule", which is very 1980s and exceptionally dystopian ("Nuke York City" being just one example.). Putting all the images inside the spoiler makes accessing the scroll bar difficult leave I suggest leaving one of your larger pictures out side of itOr just use the mouse, single click on an image, and use the arrow keys to move side to side.

Yeah that works to see the pic's but it is still clunky and does not really solve the problem. Best solution for spoiler tags I've found so far is to hit "Reply with Quote", remove the spoiler tags in the reply, and hit "Preview". It's still a pain, but at least it lets me look at the pictures properly.Yeah this also works; but again really clunky and super unnecessary.
The 'New' button works fine. Just gotta wait for the images to finish loading and it drops me at the right spot. At least, it does in Firefox. I can't vouch to IE or other browsers.
Personally I find the Spoiler tags on this forum to be, well, bad. Hover-only for show annoys the tar out of me. Click-to-show versions of the Spoiler tags on other forums work great, but not hover-to-show. Unless there's a forum setting I've missed that would make them act that way for me... (cookies if someone knows how to do that!)
Hi all.Backups, Chummer. Blank CDs/DVDs are cheap now. External Hard Drives are also pretty good. And USB Memory Sticks are a good way to keep your stuff backed up!

I've been gone because I was trying to rebuild my Archives. I got hit with a nasty new variant of Ransomware that encrypted all my files. (yet another reason why having all PDF gaming books isn't the smartest way to go....) And all my gigs of SR art are gone.
But I've been reclaiming what I could and having my friend resurrect some of my old dead hardrives with his work's recovery tools. So I have a good portion of them back and I've been scouring the 'Trix for more. Before long I should be back up to snuff.

The little U-and-strap by the elbow is sized for teenagers, though. Like 14 or 15, maybe 16. My arm doesn't fit in it, not with the strap provided.

Well, they're based on the Bloodrayne blades.Eh, For the "pocketkinfe" version just; put a hinge right where the handle is, some "mechanics" to do all the folding/extending work in the long part that straps to the arm and add that extra strap at the wrist. then the blade would fold back into the forearm part and the handle would swing down and lock into place as a butt guard by the wrist. Then there would be just a bit poking out past the elbow, which i guess would be good for elbow smashes.....

That is why my melee weapon of choice for the zombie apocalypse is an aluminum (not wood) baseball bat. Good in close quarters, even if it gets bent it is still effective, and it doesn't get stuck in zombie skulls or door frames like a sword might.
However, while the arm blades with the straps like you see there are less useful in a fight against an unarmed foe, they do have potential in a fight with another person armed with bladed weapons. Though I would prefer the blades from the movie Bloodrayne, which actually were like bladed tonfas.
And those were cheap knock-off Katanas. The ones made by actual sword masters were even sharper.

Or maybe his not even real and the Consensus thought the CEO should be human that week, but further market feedback and whats 'trending' said an Ork was the way to go . Afterall, Evo has an Ork and they are super popular at the moment... Spirits and Dragons were also trending well, but market research felt that the public didn't connect as well with them...

Um..Hermit, could you PLEASE a) quit posting your massive strings as replies to your self? It offsets them and some of us are not using massively huge monitors like you, and can't even see more then a sliver of the pictures(I am using a laptop) and b) Please break your postings up. You might have missed reading upthread when we had to ask another poster to break them up, but some browsers mess up on loading new posts when someone posts massive single posts, and also, it helps break things up so that your posts can go over multiple pages, and not freeze lower end computers or net connections up with everything loading at once.I already broke them up into six posts, but yeah, will do. As for the images ... it would really help if that function that reduces images to a tumb sized the width of an average monitor some forums have would be implemented. I can either post huge pages, or just hyperlinks. If this is implemented, how do I use it? I'd gladly go over my stuff and correct that, but since nobody in this thread used it, I guess it doesn't exist?

The Kiera Cameron images really got me: not only is her gear Shadowrun-y (plus it's from 2077), but her timelime is actually slightly more dystopian than Shadowrun, since corporations actually took over the governments instead of just being more powerful.

I think it's the other way around. Cleopatra outdates FASA's games by almost three decades.

This arcology I could easily see in Detroit (which I am working on an update from Target:UCAS). Though I'll need to check out some geophysical maps of the region and see if it could support something like this.
Being from Michigan and near Detroit I have to sadly say no it can not support that type of building. When Michiganders thalk about Detroit falling in to the salt mines we are not kidding .New tech can be amazing. London is also built on really poor soil for building large, which is why it has for so long been so flat compared to other major cities. In the last few years, though, buildings have been shooting up.
Also all of lower Michigan except a sliver on the Wisconsin side is one big sand bar left over from the last ice-age.

An excellent choice! That was the inspiration for my first Shadowrun Missions character that I actually played; a 4th Edition Face/Rigger/Decker (much easier to do then, as rigging and decking both worked from a commlink).
