As the Shin arrived at the gas station Habu was parked at, Andromeda knew Silk would not be happy about having to wait that long, but in a way she was still a bit angry at her and this made her feel a bit better.
Parking inside Habu was no challenge as always as Andromeda had done that a thousand times already and today she was happy to be back again. who would have thought that she would have to think about losing it for the whole day, no wonder she had snapped at Silk. It's not her fault Diego knew about her NordCap, only thing that could have shocked her more was if he had referred to it as Habu.
As She got out of her Driver seat she noticed that a clean up in the workshop was due. Al electronics, small pieces of metal and bolts as well as chips were lying around the workbench was more a pile of started works then a surface to work on at the moment, witch meant she had not visited Kouryuu in a week, and it was time to correct that mistake.
Not giving the mess the attention it begged of her Andromeda went for the Living area, where she expected Silk to be enjoying the couch and having one of the wine bottles from her fridge in a bucket of ice. All set for the girls to have a talk.
"We have to get back as quickly as possible," Kitten said, "I don't think the two guys like it to be left out like this. I wouldn't."
"The drive took only 2 min, we can spent 10 min here and then be back with them in 15 min, that is not long enough to really get riled up, is it?" Andromeda looked at Silk with questioning face, "What do you want to add? i said most things over the com already..."
Habu started moving but the Living room fell into a atmosphere of Girl-chat-time.
Silk shrugged. She wasn't all that thrilled about Andromeda being upset with her for something she didn't even have anything to do with. What was it with riggers and their stupid toys? She had to give 'Meda credit for at least trying to hide it a little but it was simply impossible to hide things like that from someone like Silk. At least having to wait that long had allowed her to squeeze herself out of Takada's skin and back into a looser person. The lawyer's uptight behavior and narrow-minded thoughts annoyed her more and more lately.
"What, you don't want to gossip about the new guys? Really, Rommy, you need to get away from all this tech stuff more often and get back in touch with your feminine side. Besides, I was half expecting you'd need to vent for half an hour about Diego mentioning your little hideout on wheels. Of course, you could just take it out on me instead." Silk rolled her eyes.
"Anyhow, enough about him, for now. We'll talk about him later with the rest of the 'team'. It's that rest we need to talk about." She paused to allow the others to speak, but then seemed to remember something else. "Oh, and you should really stop storing wine in your fridge. It's not soda or soy milk, it needs to be at room temperature."
"Milk, did you touch my milk?" She was a bit confused. "but you could have taken the white wine as well over there in the cabinet that's room temperature but i thought you would like the red one and i always store it in cold storage." Andromeda pointed out the old cabinet that had a big mirror on it. "Pa always put his red wine in the fridge, but ma stored her white wine in the cabinet. I do the same." As if Silk would know something about whine storage, at least more then her.
"What do you mean talking about the boys? are they not to your taste? will you not be able to save them from their poor style and etiquette?" Andromeda asked jokingly, knowing how ling Silk had tried to get her into shape and put somthing feminine in her appearance, and even now is still trying. "I think we have not seen any of them for what they are yet." after a thought or two "the drones looked well maintained, the same i can not say about the Man himself.... " After a second thought... "well that came out wrong" and Andromeda blushed.
"I'll ask Jack at what temperature you have to store wine," Kitten said, "now, maybe they didn't dress right, but hey, a year ago I didn't either. That doesn't mean they don't know their stuff."
"Wine is not the issue here i think?" Andromeda looked at Silk "You had something on your mind i guess?" Her look proved that even some one like Andromeda could understand. "The Boys are waiting and i do not believe we are kind to let them"
"What, am I the only one who missed that one of 'em looks like a monkey, the other looked and dressed worse than your average shmo in the barrens and accepted my help fixing his gaffe 'only to keep the peace' -and you should've seen the stuff he tried to hide from me even half naked-...", Silk gasped for breath and continued. "And those two are nothing compared to the last, who dressed like he jumped out of the set of a low-budget sci-fi trid, talks like he escaped from a mental institution and -the part which makes me wonder whether he shouldn't be locked back up- decided to fucking fly rotodrones into the meeting and then asked our employer to 'please be paid before you drop dead'."
Another gasp for breath, followed by some heavy breathing. "Now I'm no racist and I'm sure 'Gibbon' can't help it... though the attention he'd draw really makes subtle & quiet work a hellofalot harder. And I'm sure we can housebreak the second one if we stick together and apply some group pressure. But the we 'We are Legion' guy..."
Silk whistled while pointing her finger at the side of her head and twirling it clockwise.
"He's just your average drone rigger," Kitten said, "speaks of we because he always includes his drones as well. And no offense dear, but sometimes you go a bit too far with your dress-up thing. Most hackers and riggers don't care what their meat body looks like. If you want to see how good the look, look at their drones or home node. The Johnsons know that as well, so it doesn't really matter. And as long as they do their job right, I don't care how they dress."
"Remember our first meeting?" Andromeda started "Sure you do, you kept me reminding about my famine side and the way i dress for the entire time we know each other. I may have changed a bit but i doubt it's so much as you intended" Andromeda spent a look on her jumpsuit, "at least is not black from oil, is it?" She laughed, "with time you will bring them on your way of living, just give them a chance and if one of them is crazy enough to run in front of a gun with a target painted on him, good riddance, but we at least should give them a chance, don't you think?" Andromeda tried to convince Silk to give them a chance
Silk sighed deeply in response while shaking her head reluctantly and twirling the wine in her glass. She took a big swig of the glass and put it on the table. "Fine, suit your way. Don't listen to the smart one!" She stuck out her tongue. "They show any signs of causing trouble though... Same goes for Diego."
She pouted like a child who was just denied the pony she knew she wouldn't get anyways. "Ah, screw it. When did you two become the persuasive ones? All I wanted to know was if you two had my back, you know, in case... well... in any case. We got to stick together, right?"
"You gave me a chance, remember?" Andromeda tried to convince Silk "do the same for them, and in they really cause trouble, you have me and my gun at your service anytime. I will even throw in my drones and Cars, for you.
And just to be sure - you are my favorite weirdo in the team." She added for comic relief.
"I haven't met anybody I couldn't stunbolt if needed," Kitten added, "but now let's get back, before they eat all the bugs."
She laughed at the look on their faces.
"Those crunchies I ordered before going out," she said to Andromeda, "It's fried insects, mostly grasshoppers. Jack has the best north of Lagos. I guess our boys don't know that yet."
Andromeda almost fell down from Laughter "Imagine them eating that right now!"
