Gibbon was a bit dumbfounded by the story Pulse told them. He wondered shortly what the guy would have done if he didn't call this meeting for today, and if what he heard was true at all. Even as he could have imagined anything from an unknown Johnson, killing off runners like this, it was just invitation to be eliminated. Maybe they should double-check the guy with contacts.
I'd like to make a judge intentions or sense motive check on Pulse. As things mount, Gibbon will start to consider more things suspicious. Take whichever test you think is relevant.
Judge intentions: INT(5) + CHA(4) (9d6.hits(5)=2)
Sense motive: INT(5) + Negotiation(1) + Empathy(3) (9d6.hits(5)=2)
When Pulse finally finished talking, after Kittens remark, he said "Well, i think Junior's intentions may become clearer as soon as we leave here. I intend to call him and ask for the drop-off location, because we'll have to include it in the plans anyway. It will speak volumes if he doesn't tell us then. As for Andromeda, i'm starting to get even more worried. She was already vague yesterday, and i'd say it is not a good sign that she's not available on the comm. If she doesn't get back to Kitten or Silk by the end of our little chat, i think we should check on her thoroughly. And by that i mean physically."

When Cookie asked his question and looked back to him, he just raised his brows and tilted his head to the left, but didn't answer. Instead, he continued the ongoing discussion. "Do you not also get the feeling that whatever we do we'll be in deep drek? If we do this job, Junior might just get ideas instead of paying. If we don't, he might ruthlessly go after us and make it impossible that we take more jobs in this city. By the way, i'm sure you tried to check his credibility through some contacts, but it might be time to double-check. I made the mistake of concentrating more on the father, because he was the original Johnson, but this whole thing might be something designed by Junior from the start." He looked around the table, to see the reactions of the others.

"I can do some searching on him as well, see what comes up.  If he's playing games like that, though, he might have gotten some stuff scrubbed from the Matrix - there'd still be ways to find it, but not before we need to pull the job."

"We're not drowning in it yet, I'll go after her with anyone else who wants to tag along; After all I'm familiar with her astral signature and so is Kitten I believe. As for the background on junior." pausing as he took a sharp intake of breath. "I have some questions for some some mutual contacts as well, shortly after Legion disappeared I asked them to look into it dropped some info to ID him only, Then this.
Leaning back in the chair staring at the ceiling keeping his voice as low as possible.
"The last time drek like this happened, I was lucky to be able to walk away, hell I've incurred debts to people and still managed to find other ways of paying them. I deal with drek every day, at home, everywhere and so if junior is playing this kind of game he's going to learn what I do to active threats that don't take the hint."

Cookie calms down and takes stock of things.

"Well, checking on her physically is all well and good - but I'm thinking we should take a vote on whether or not I check in on her commlink as well.  If she's in trouble and laying low, we don't want to go making it worse."

"And just how else do you think we'd be able to check on her physically, unless our two dear ladies here know exactly where she is?" The last part of the sentence was not a question. Although Gibbon's suspicions flared, he doubted very much that either Silk or Kitten knew where Andromeda was. They might have ideas where to look, but he thought it was just ideas, no knowledge.

Silk had remained quiet and maintained a pensive look on her face.
The good news was Legion was likely to be dead. The guy had been a serious liability from the start, she'd never wanted to work so closely with anyone acting like that and had serious questions about his sanity. She couldn't fault the Johnson for doing what he'd done to the weirdo. Unless of course Diego hadn't actually killed him and had really only rendered him unconscious. She couldn't think of a single reason to do so, unless maybe making some money selling the technomancer to some lab. But he obviously didn't need the money, so it would mean allowing loose ends for no real reason. For that there was simply no excuse.
Still, there was nothing she could do about it and it meant one less liability to worry about, so all-in-all she considered it a good thing. Saved her from having to kill the guy, too.

Andromeda... That was another thing. The girl had her quirks, sure, but she usually had her things together well enough, she was skilled, reliable and -equally important-, very easy to mold and eager to please. Then again, she had disappeared before and returned without any comment. Of course, that would have been the professional thing to do if she'd been on another job, so in this line of business that couldn't really be considered to be so negative.
Still, Junior asked to investigate Rommy -after- she'd disappeared. If he'd taken care of her already, that wouldn't have been necessary. Doubly so because it would mean he'd have his hands on everything already. The girl and her things were inseparable and if he had physical access to her implanted commlink, asking a hacker (or well, a technomancer) to hack her from a distance made little sense; it'd be a lot easier to do with physical access.
But something needed to be done. She'd vanished in the middle of a pretty big job. They needed to act like 'runners instead of friends and do the professional thing, for better or for worse.

"Do it. Hack her, locate her, whatever. We need to find out what's going on. If she's in trouble, she might need our help. If she's not, we still need to know what's happened. Just don't give Junior any information about her before giving it to us so we can determine what needs to be done.", she finally said, not a shred of doubt in her voice.
"Some more info about mister Diego Silver would be welcome too, of course. But if you ask me, none of these new revelations really change anything concerning the job or our employer. So he wants to keep an eye on us. Have you ever had a Johnson that wasn't a control freak?"

Judge Intentions (14d6.hits(5)=5)
If she can find out anything else with that, I'd appreciate being told, but I'll leave that up to you.
Very, very sorry for slow posting.

Gibbon stared at Silk unbelieving but he answered in a composed manner, although it felt forced. "Yeah, i had a job or two in which the Johnson wasn't a control freak. Still it might have been the climate, people down there are a bit more passionate about things than in the cold north. What i didn't have up to now, was a Johnson picking off teammates and one of the team fraggin' not giving a damn about it at the same time. Oh, i understand you didn't like Legion and you do like Andromeda, and how that would justify the double standards of handling their disappearances differently, barring what we got to know from Pulse."

Cookie suddenly snapped himself back up in his chair, settling into a relaxed posture showing no signs of worry, emotion or stress.
"Fighting each other won't solve anything, the stone cold fact is that we now have information  that causes us some serious doubts regarding junior, added to which we all have no idea what happened.  We need to hack Andromeda now, if we want to find out what happened to her, we can explain later if she's ok, otherwise...I'll let people think about that"

”OK, agreed, first things first, we can leave this discussion until after we know more. But before we go back online, I believe there were more topics that need to be discussed with the team.” Gibbon wasn’t able to produce the feat Cookie just did, the others could still see that he wasn’t calm at all. Despite that, he still held on to the forced composure in his speech.

It took considerable effort for Gibbon to keep calm but he did. "I fragging wanted you to decide. I thought i was making you a courtesy by offering you to tell it yourself but obviously you don't appreciate it the same i would. But seeing that you blew your chance, it is totally all the same now, so i should finish instead of letting you stumble through it." He turned to the others, but kept half an eye on Cookie still. "You see, when we went to get our things, there was this guy handing things over. Now, that guy wanted our friend here to liberate another item from the fifth floor of the museum, and didn't seem to leave Cookie too much space to maneuver. And he wanted Cookie to do it right under the guise of our job, which seems perfectly logical to me, it just makes our job harder and gets us blamed for something we didn't do, if it goes down as the guy expected. And another thing is, this guy seemed to know what and where we intended to do, which means someone told him or he's running spysoft on one of our links, that's why i asked you to go wireless before we talked."

He couldn't blame the anger, he'd be angry too but it was always better to know where you stood.
"Well I'm not going to defend myself, so I''l put the rest on the table. One, first off the people who want this done are idiots, the problem is that they're idiots I'm in debt to.
Two, before you say 'wait a minute don't you have a self erasing data trail?' that doesn't count towards the astral or a simple tracking device'."

taking a moment to glare at his commlink's.
"three, I'm not happy with what they asked either because the way the moron who passed this info to me meant that Gibbon over heard, means that now my reliability will be in doubt,so I won't blame anyone who wants me to leave. Four, so thanks to the way the moron who delivered this one to me; guess what? I cant do what they want because Gibbon may have told you already before you got here, for all I know meaning you'd have all been watch me like hawks at best. In conclusion I'm screwed either way. Oh, to make it even better junior may want to kill us anyway and the guys I'm in debt to know that this kind of thing they want isn't my specialty...leading to more questions, so any questions?."

Silk tilted her head slightly. She appeared to have no difficulty ignoring Gibbon's remarks about her reaction to the news about their employer and (ex-)team member(s).
She smiled in a friendly way, though the tone of her voice didn't entirely match the face. "Well, I'm sure you're all very relieved to get that off your chests. Does anyone else feel like they've anything to share? Ulterior motives, additional complications or other random disruptions?"
No reply forthcoming, she continued. "Good! So, who are these people exactly and how do you suggest we should deal with these things?", she asked both men.

Damn, she's cold...

"This just keeps getting better and better, doesn't it?  Do I need to try to dig up some leverage on these guys to maybe buy you a reprieve?  Perhaps give them something else to worry about for now?"  The outlook on this job was getting worse and worse.
