@Gustovness: When taking a new skill or skill group, i don't count defaulting penalty, so it should be simply an Intuition (2, 1 month) extended test by the book. But as with the others, i will reduce the threshold of learning the new group by one (to one). In your case, with INT 4, you should be able to buy the necessary one hit, and complete the improvement under base time (1 month). I will also give a "discount" on the base time, but as you won't nearly sit on your haunches for a month, that improvement still won't be complete until the next run.
Or. You could use Edge to improve your test, because extra hits on the test will reduce time needed to learn. You could roll INT(4) + Edge(3), 7 dice with sixes exploding, and hope that you roll enough hits to have the group ready by the next run.
@all: on toolkits - MaxKojote is basically right, but this is a silly notion of mine. I don't associate the "hardware toolkit" with all the electronics hardware that it is usable to prod the right way. Saying an "electronics toolkit" brings up the correct association in my mind, and i won't make the mistake of associating it with any other skills in the group, as they obviously have nothing to do with any kind of toolkit. But if the renaming bothers you, you can leave it at hardware kit, but expect me to use "electronics toolkit" accidentally. And if Gustovness wants to mod his own weapons, he will at least have to have an armorer toolkit, or even a shop for lots of mods.
@Gustovness (again): what is the CWP under the Colt M1991? What kind of ammo do you want for the weapons? The Colt is some kind of a pistol (i can't find it in any of the books)? And Tweety has no problem with modding your weapons for dwarf hands

Edit: i found the Colt in Gun Haven 1. Although it is not in the books we basically use, i don't have a problem with you procuring one.
Please also say something about the following:
- facial surgery
- lifestyle question
- if you want any "spending money" from Tweety
- you probably need some additional clips for the Colt, how many? (To be able to reload easily.)
- no mods for the weapons? (I understand if you want to tweak them yourself later, it would be fun to see how you develof them.)
- with a chemkit and a medkit, Tweety suggests you get a paramedic permit, that will let you get off the hook for having some basic narcotics on your person. And you will probably find them, sooner or later.
