"We want to know everything... start with the basics.  You know profession, hobbies, friends." Kuren tries prompting the girl in hopes that this won't get any rougher on her.

"I don't see her often anymore" answers Makoto. "Since she took that contract with Renraku, she comes to the apartment only on weekends. During the week, she stays at her apartment in the city. She told me her boss at Renraku, Ishihara-san, helped her find it. She likes to take vintage photographs as a hobby."

[Lumen]

"Hmmm... mmhmmm..."  Kuren nods as she speaks, "So where is your mother's apartment in the city?  How long ago did she enter into a contract with Renraku?  What kind of vintage camera does she use?  These are the kind of details we need to know Makato."

Kuren mentally opens the case file, ready for any new information to add.

[HydroRaven]

"I don't know where her apartment is, she never took me there and refused to talk about it" answered the Japanese woman. "Maybe Ishihara-san could tell you where it is. She started working for Renraku about 2 years ago." Makoto pauses for a second before following with "I think the camera she used was an old Canon."

[Crossbow]

"Don't put us off on someone else, you said she was nosy, what was she nosy about?"  Smiley snaps in, "You want this to end you have to give us what we are looking for."

[HydroRaven]

You can see Makoto jerk back a little out of surprise. "She is just nosy in general, that's what I meant. I swear, she never told me anything about her work" says the scared woman.

I'm going to need an intimidation roll here.

[Lumen]

"What sort of things did she photograph?  Were there any photos recently she was exceptionally excited or worried about?  Do you know where she had the film developed?  Old equipment like that needs much more care than modern technology, surely she had a trusted vendor she frequented."

Knives shrugs and messages Smiley, <If every detail must be dragged from her individually this could take days.  We may have to turn up the heat a bit.>

Makoto quickly says She always went to a shop in Shimokitazawa to get her pictures developed. And I don't know about any pictures she might have taken recently, I haven't spoken to her in a few days. The last time I saw her was for lunch back at the apartment. And even then we didn't speak much."

[Lumen]

Kuren sighs, "The details Makato... we need details...  What is the name of the shop?"  He pauses for a few seconds as if pondering his next question, "Who else was there for lunch for lunch that day?"

[Crossbow]

"This damn girl is useless, here we are going to all this trouble and she is worthless, we should just dump her and let them kill her." says Smiley, "Who the hell is Ishihara."

[HydroRaven]

"The shop's name is "Kubota Camera" in Shimokitazawa" answers the bound woman. Upon hearing Smiley's comments, she visibly panics and says "I'm telling you everything I know, I swear" before sobbing again. "Ishihara is her superior at Renraku" says Makoto between sniffles.

[Lumen]

Kuren updates his file with the name and district of the camera shop.  He nods to Smiley, <Keep pushing.   She ignored my question about the male in the apartment.   I'm not sure how much more we'll get from her.  What's the plan once we're done?>

It doesn't take long for you to locate "Kubota Camera" in the Matrix. A quick look tells you this node is not at the forefront of technology and it seems to be more a mom-and-pop shop than a serious business. You see they cater to very old camera models, and are also licenced to develop photos the old-fashioned way.

"Is that the man from your apartment?  I thought he got her to live somewhere else, lets keep the lies straight Makato!" thunders Smiley.  To Kuren he notes back <We should keep pushing her, but I think you are right, she might not know much more and we need to check on what she has told us.  We really need to know who her dad is before we let her go, she could really be in danger>
