No one has removed the spear and Devon is NOT letting your guy cast spells on his patient.

On an unrelated note:

Novocrane, it's time to start working on getting Rand into the story. Right now, he's in the mall; is he paying attention to AR? If so, is he in the mall's host, or somewhere else?

Let's stick with the scene in the courtyard a bit longer; I don't think it's fully played out yet.

Also, I don't think Flatline's going to be strong enough to pull the spear out on his own. This is a troll's weapon--Devon's puny human hands can barely reach around it--and it got jammed in pretty damn hard.

Edit made.  On the spear issue, I guess I can choose not to be a hardass and get Siggy to help.

Ok...so, are Flatline and Siegfried done getting to know each other in the courtyard, and ready to move on to the clinic?

Also, Novocrane, roll perception for me, with the standard "not actively looking" penalty.

I'm just trying to make sure both of you guys have said & done everything you want to before you move. :) I'm not going to throw any obstacles in way of getting the troll to the clinic.

I should have a post up for Novocrane tonight.

Chrona, would you mind filling Crossbow in on what Flatline finds in his examination of Armless?

Hes in good shape, his muscles are as good as a mundane trolls would ever become. He is covered head to toe in ritualistic tattoos but their meaning is unclear. The spear is buried in his chest, but perfectly missed his heart. There is absolutely no signs of vaccinations or other modern medical treatment, all wounds or old scars look like they were dealt with messily, painfully and without a medkit. A good enough assense or a blood test etc will show an allergy to antibiotics.

ANTIBIOTICS?!?!  Are you shitting me? Okay, I hate him already.  I will roll the assensing so I don't poison this idiot.

I got 4 dice to assense while sustaining a spell, so I will buy a hit if I can, if not here is the roll 4d6.hits(5)=1 same result.

I just checked the assensing rules, and I don't think an allergy would come up anyway.

I hope this guy has the 2070 equivalent to a Life Alert bracelet or I am gonna mess him up bad.  Pushing antibiotics is one of the first things you do when you have open wounds.

Heh i was waiting for that reaction. If you check his gear he has a quiver of over sized arrows, a few throwing knives and a shitty commlink, if you boot it up it is unprotected entirely, looks brand new. when turned on it immediately displays a text file alerting you to the allergy, signed Shallow Water.

Hrm. ???

...

Don't you think it's a bit of a stretch that a fixer would set up a client's comm with this sort of alert? Girlfriend or family member, I could see doing that...but a fixer taking that much care for a mild allergy? Sorry, but...no, I can't allow this.

Remember, I did say that qualities would be important, and were not to be viewed as a source of free karma. ;)

Since it is mild, it's not going to mess Armless up; it'll just take two dice away from your healing tests, slowing down your recuperation slightly.

Okay, it was more to avoid Armless' religiously driven rage that will occur when he finds out antibiotics were used on him.

Considering you wanted me to have the commlink and i didn't and Shallow Water gave it to him, i thought it might have been reasonable that he had at least set it up to stop someone making him ill.

...wow, nice rolling, Crossbow. I'll let Armless's eyes flutter open as you finish the spell and reach for the antibiotics. :)

See, I'm not totally evil...
