"The winds of fate had seen to knock me to the ground." Magpie said, raising his arms as he started to tell a story. His previously somewhat lazy drawl of a voice also became stronger and more confident . He clearly liked telling tales, or maybe he just liked telling this one.

"I had no job, no money, no home and my little chickie had just hatched. I did not want to be a bad man. Did not want to be a bad father, scrounging from his other and then, I dreamt." He lowered his arms and grinned.

"The great Manitou, Raven had seen fit to look upon me in my despair. Now, Raven is a trickster god who likes to play tricks on the proud, and take advantage of their woes, but hidden in that darkness he also has kindness and caring for his young. He came to me in my dreams and gave me the gift. He taught me how to look after myself and my people." he chuckled.

"So, yeah. I sling mojo fer Raven, fer Money and fer big momma nature.   What 'bout you, chummer?"

@Kinkou <<Not just yet - better to get the team put together so I know what I'm working with.  Actually, if you can find a hacker type, I could probably use some research in here; would give me a leg up on negotiations.>>

He gave miss Cooper a sympathetic smile, while he did a quick calculation in his head.  His running name sounded a little too intimidating, so he was weighing the risks of using his real name.  "Just call me Jimmy.  Now, wetwork's a pretty heavy thing - there's a lot of runners who won't even touch it - but it sounds like what you're after has two parts to it; figuring out what really happened, and paying evil unto evil as it were. As to the first part...  Did your father have any enemies you can think of?"

@Patch

You look around, trying to find something interesting when your eyes rest on an Asian woman talking to the man with the feather coat. Although you can't quite hear what they're saying, you see the man waving around with big gestures, and you seem to see him slip something in the girl's drink.

@Shark

The woman answers without even thinking. "Of course he didn't have enemies! Everyone loved him!" After a moment of reflection, however, she says "Although he was in talks about merging the company with another one before he was murdered..."

"That certainly could be motive...  What company was it?  Anyone take issue with it, or stand to lose out so far as you know?"  In a just world, these are the questions that someone in law enforcement should have been asking her, but such was the sad state of affairs under which they lived.

well... I'm an adept. Not many places I can't get into to be honest.
If you fancy some work then you're in, we'll need a mojo-man.
You know anyone else in here? We could do with a decker

okay, no worries. What have we got from the johnson so far? Mojo slinger is in, working on a decker. Got any recommendations?

"I'm afraid I don't know those details. He never discussed business, and I never asked" answered miss Cooper. "All I know is that it was stressing him out."

@Kinkou <<Well, there's a burnout-looking ork with what seems to be a cyberdeck and some grizzled bastard who looks like a bit of an old hand; thought I marked them for you before I came back here?  The ork kinda looks more promising - what with the deck and all - but might as well check into the both of them.>>

"I'd imagine so.  Now, I have to ask some difficult questions - how did he supposedly commit suicide?  Was there a message of any sort?"

"No messages were left behind" says the woman before holding her breath. You can see this is an attempt at controlling her emotions. When she composes herself, she continues with "Knight Errand left me a copy of their report if you want. That and ¥20,000 is all I can give you, really."

"Nah, sorry brah. I don't know any deckers. Hell, my pad ain't even got a stable matrix connection. I'm a lil' green wi' sneakin' an' entry as you may 'ave noticed. Gonna have to look inta that if'm gonna make this a t'ing, yeh? Lotta beasties out there can't be put down wi'out it. Most o' my client's be liking th' magic fire support an' all though." He chuckled.

"Still'm sure if we wait around long enough Raven'll see to point someone our way, eh? This other dude you've worked with - you been on many run wi' 'im before? No deckers come with then?"

Seeing 'feathers' slipping something into the chicks drink was just the sort of thing that was unfortunately too common in a place like this. But hey if she was here and talking to a creep like that on her own she should know what to expect. Real excitement seemed to be mysterious and elusive tonight for poor Alexander. Yeah that seems about right for the creep in here and feathers there sure seems to fit the bill! Better keep an eye out in case my services are needed later. with this thought he decided to turn his attentions once again to his drink.

Maintaining a constant view on the chick talking with feathers just to make sure that nothing happens. It wasn't too long before he remembered the mess he'd left at the clinic, a SINless corpse was ll he needed right now.I really should deal with that mess before it become a endless amount of paperwork moving outside into poor weather Alexander once again puffs up the lapels on his greatcoat and huddles into dry corner to spark up a cigarette and called one of contacts, Hannibal Smith a dirty scum monger he acted as a middle man and organ-legger for him.

Hey Hannibal,
I've got a small package for you to collect at the surgery if you could swing by later tonight?

@Patch

As you're finishing your cigarette, a reply from Hannibal comes in. "I'm busy tonight, but if it's all the same to you, tomorrow morning is my only free slot."

@Kinkou

You make your way closer to the ork. The closer you get, the more haggard he looks. His thin left hand is holding a drink and he's looking at you as you make your approach, but his right hand, bandaged, is twitching. He smiles at your offer, answering "Does an AI want a body?"

Seeing Hannibal's response was hardly surprising given the way the rest of his night had gone so far. Yeah that seem about right... still tomorrow morning is as good as any time I guess.

Initiate message protocol v0.1
To: Hannibal

Yeah dude tomorrow morning is fine.
I've got nothing else going on at the moment after all.

If i'm not there key is in the usual place and the package is in locker 4.

Have a good one.

With the mess of the clinic now off his mind he decided to finish this night off the way it had started and went back inside to drown his sorrows. He approached the bar and tried to see if he could spot the chick who was talking with feathers earlier while summoning the barman. Should make sure the chick is alright still
Barman, can i get a brew over here!

Magpie stood at the bar with a drink, looking over at Kinkou as she spoke with the decker. "Burned out old orc seems a bit desperate. But who am I to judge such things?" Magpie thought to himself. Aware of his own earlier actions, Magpie scanned the bar looking for anybody who seemed to be paying too much attention to them. If they were to be going on a run for the rich woman, there is a chance that others would wish to take advantage of one who stands out from this crowd so much. May wish them to fail before they even started.

@Patch

You step back into the establishment, the dim lights and the smoke enveloping you as you sit back down at the bar. The bartender gives you another of whatever it was you were drinking and you notice the Asian woman is now talking to a sick-looking ork.

OOC: make a medical knowledge roll to get a better description of the ork.

@Magpie

Looking around the bar, no one stands out besides the Asian woman with her lip piercings and her jacket full of different patches.
