Loki sat down and chatted with the team while the man who called himself The Professor did his thing with his tools. Looking at the man working at his station, Loki thought "Hmm, strange that someone so invested in technology doesn't have a single aug... Oh well, no matter as long as he does his job right, I presume."
The team went over the details of the job, and Loki decided to summarize at the end just to make sure he understood. This was his first job, after all.
"Right, so we've got an Aztec CEO trophy wife who wants an out for her and her kid, and they want to be taken to the frakkin' Tir of all places? I can't say I'll be glad to return to my homeland, but a job is a job is a job, and Siren has been providing for us so far at least."
Looking around at the others, he thought for a second before speaking. "So who's the leader of this fine group of individuals? I'll be straight, I talk a good talk, but I'm young and inexperienced, and I know it." He nodded at Derren and James "Deadeye" before continuing. "You two look like you've seen combat, so I'll defer to your judgement if it comes to that. Jack here has a silver tongue like no one I've never seen and that's including myself, and I know for a fact that Shade can drive like a bat out of hell." At that last part, Loki chuckled as the stout man cursed loudly; he must have caught a finger or something on those racks he was messing around with.
"That leaves the Professor. Anyone know his game? He seems kinda far out to me, but if you vouch for him it's all good with me." Loki looked around before continuing. "I trust you'll believe me when I say that I've got some pretty slick tricks up my sleeves, but none the less we should discuss how we get the marks out of town. My best bet; the same way I got into town, considering I just made the reverse journey no more than 6 months ago. But we're going to need some gear from what I can tell."
He listed off the things he could think off of the top of his head.
"1. Some corporate digs for Jack and I, because I would certainly stick out like a sore thumb anywhere near the corp born. Privileged high-born bastards always looked down on my kind in Cara'Sir, and I doubt that the corporate elite here are any different."
Loki could see the derision in the eyes of the others as he fished his battered old Meta Link out of his pockets and grinned sheepishly. "What? I've had this thing for years and it's served me well so far... Anyway. 2. Updated comms for everyone, at least in my case, so we don't have to worry about corpsec hacking us and tracking us no matter where we go. Worst case, a bunch of burners we can just toss once we get out of dodge."
Slightly flushed from embarrassment at his inferior tech, he went on. "3. A simrig to record the meet and catch the details of the job, both for our own protection and in case we need to replay the meeting for some minor detail or another."
Loki looked at the others. "4. Some armor for myself at least, the new PPP kind that you can just strap on under my gear or over nicer clothes if needed seems like it would be a good fit."
Loki looked at James with his shiny datajack on the side of his head. "5. Something for you tech guys to work with. I'm thinking a Faraday Cage to block any stealth tags the Azzies may have implanted the marks with. Speaking of, we should get some stealth tags of our own so we can monitor their location after the meet. Oh, and a bug scanner, a tag eraser, and a white noise generator, unless any of you have those already. High end drek, since we're going up against a mega here."
He nodded to himself, pleased with the results of the discussion. "Thoughts? I'd like to get a good nights rest before we meet with the mark tomorrow morning, if Shade over there will ever quiet down. Sounds like my brother from another mother over there is having some quality time with those cars. Oh, I'm not a great driver, by the way, but I can handle a little speed. Just don't ask me to do any Evil Knivel drek, neh?"
Waiting for the others to respond, he began compiling a list to send off to Siren, and looked around for a place to lie down to get some rest over night.
