Loki sat down and chatted with the team while the man who called himself The Professor did his thing with his tools. Looking at the man working at his station, Loki thought "Hmm, strange that someone so invested in technology doesn't have a single aug... Oh well, no matter as long as he does his job right, I presume."

The team went over the details of the job, and Loki decided to summarize at the end just to make sure he understood. This was his first job, after all.

"Right, so we've got an Aztec CEO trophy wife who wants an out for her and her kid, and they want to be taken to the frakkin' Tir of all places? I can't say I'll be glad to return to my homeland, but a job is a job is a job, and Siren has been providing for us so far at least."

Looking around at the others, he thought for a second before speaking. "So who's the leader of this fine group of individuals? I'll be straight, I talk a good talk, but I'm young and inexperienced, and I know it." He nodded at Derren and James "Deadeye" before continuing. "You two look like you've seen combat, so I'll defer to your judgement if it comes to that. Jack here has a silver tongue like no one I've never seen and that's including myself, and I know for a fact that Shade can drive like a bat out of hell." At that last part, Loki chuckled as the stout man cursed loudly; he must have caught a finger or something on those racks he was messing around with.

"That leaves the Professor. Anyone know his game? He seems kinda far out to me, but if you vouch for him it's all good with me." Loki looked around before continuing. "I trust you'll believe me when I say that I've got some pretty slick tricks up my sleeves, but none the less we should discuss how we get the marks out of town. My best bet; the same way I got into town, considering I just made the reverse journey no more than 6 months ago. But we're going to need some gear from what I can tell."

He listed off the things he could think off of the top of his head.
"1. Some corporate digs for Jack and I, because I would certainly stick out like a sore thumb anywhere near the corp born. Privileged high-born bastards always looked down on my kind in Cara'Sir, and I doubt that the corporate elite here are any different."

Loki could see the derision in the eyes of the others as he fished his battered old Meta Link out of his pockets and grinned sheepishly. "What? I've had this thing for years and it's served me well so far... Anyway. 2. Updated comms for everyone, at least in my case, so we don't have to worry about corpsec hacking us and tracking us no matter where we go. Worst case, a bunch of burners we can just toss once we get out of dodge."

Slightly flushed from embarrassment at his inferior tech, he went on. "3. A simrig to record the meet and catch the details of the job, both for our own protection and in case we need to replay the meeting for some minor detail or another."

Loki looked at the others. "4. Some armor for myself at least, the new PPP kind that you can just strap on under my gear or over nicer clothes if needed seems like it would be a good fit."

Loki looked at James with his shiny datajack on the side of his head. "5. Something for you tech guys to work with. I'm thinking a Faraday Cage to block any stealth tags the Azzies may have implanted the marks with. Speaking of, we should get some stealth tags of our own so we can monitor their location after the meet. Oh, and a bug scanner, a tag eraser, and a white noise generator, unless any of you have those already. High end drek, since we're going up against a mega here."

He nodded to himself, pleased with the results of the discussion. "Thoughts? I'd like to get a good nights rest before we meet with the mark tomorrow morning, if Shade over there will ever quiet down. Sounds like my brother from another mother over there is having some quality time with those cars. Oh, I'm not a great driver, by the way, but I can handle a little speed. Just don't ask me to do any Evil Knivel drek, neh?"

Waiting for the others to respond, he began compiling a list to send off to Siren, and looked around for a place to lie down to get some rest over night.

Yeah myself and James know how to handle a gun, Jame's aint too bad with a deck either if memory serves. Fuck knows about the doc, prof, whatever. He started messing with stuff and then passed the hell out. He needs to sort his shit out 'cos it ain't a good start in my books.
As for the shopping list, it sounds good. I'll want some flashbangs added to that list too, maybe some capsule slugs and half a litre of narcoject too.

Loki smiled his signature "I got this" smile at Derren, and pulled a small injection dart out of his inside coat pocket.

"Narcojet, you say? Just so happens I have a few doses, and a handy delivery mechanism too..."

As if to demonstrate, he got up, walked over to the nearby workstation and held up a nail. "Observe, gentlemen."

Loki concentrated on the nail, gathering mana around him and feeding it into the small object in his hand. With a single muttered word, he let the mana go all at once.

"Fly!"

The nail embedded itself halfway into the surface of the wall from the force of the spell, and Loki nodded in satisfaction. He then walked back to the others, looked at them and said simply, "I can handle subdual, if need be. I'll add the flash-bangs and capsule rounds to the list, though half a liter of narcojet is going to be fraggin' expensive, so let's see what she says. Not like we need to tranq the whole drekking town, after all"

Quote
Force 5 Fling [5]: Flinging a nail at the weakest looking wall in the shop: 15d6t5 7
Net hits capped at 5; count as Ranged Attack with improvised weapon (nail) against weakest wall in the room. Equivalent of STR 5, should be enough to bury the nail into a soft-ish material.

Drain Resist: Fling (Force 5 -2 = 3DV): 13d6t5 6
No drain

Half a litre doesn't go far when you're filling an Enfield AS-7 autoshotgun's drum. besides, gives plenty spare for everyone else if we get lighter calibre rounds too.
I'd rather knock the suckers out than have a bloodbath on my resume to be fair.
Anyone know what the fuck happened to the prof? He come down off of jazz or something?

Derren stares quizzically at the recovering man, clearly shocked by his apparent eccentricity.

The professor blinks, looking inquizitive "No no, quite far below that, rather ground level i woulds hazzard to say. However, working with my tool for the past six hours has pyt me in a rather bad stretch i would say.. i think ill take a nap." at that he yawns looking for a cot or cpuch to crash on

Derren looks at the others, shaking his head, gesturing with his hands as if to ask if they had any idea what to make of him.
He took a deep breath and sighed it out.
Right, I'll put the pot on. Who's for a soycaf?

Im up for one sir. Sorry about the distraction... nice meeting you James takes a close look at the new acquaintance mooching spell slinger uh...always geek the mage first , whats wrong with the professor?

on the other hand... forget i asked, most likely i dont want to know while picking up a cigar and getting the zippo out, James holds the move at the last second, the lighter already burning Ah! drek grumbling something incoherent James turns to the assembled crew while pocketing the smoke and flame dispensers. Sorry if i was absent, we may have two possible locations for the extraction, ill upload the data to you 'links, my suggestion turning to address Darren if you are ok with it sir would be to run a preliminary surveillance on both sites, just to get the lay of the land, i can cover the matrix end... and since we now have magical support... James continues while nodding towards Loki it can be done on both ends.

That satellite link there, is it part of the equipment Miss S S for Snarky... left us?

Fido would probably drink the soykaff before it got to your hands a small grin crossing James face as he said his gibe, the scar distorting with the grin creating an odd sight. Well if we can have a delivery service here i can get you your cookie, but i rather think Miss S might not like that idea..eh..

Mental note: remember to bring Fido along when that happens James retorted, imitating in a mocking way the strange habit people sometimes have of putting their hand to the ear buds and pressing their subvocalmic's as if it improved the comms.
