Confident that he'd thought of everything for now, Loki sent off his list of "necessary" gear to Siren.

@James You receive an answer 24 minutes later >>tomorrow, 11:30am, The Broken Pot Reasonable to have bodyguard as minimum accompaniment.so you've got 12hrs 11 min's until showtime, but even bodyguards will be in suits..<<

@Loki >>Keep dreamin' kid. No one's gonna buy you and her attending uni together given the 18yr age difference. I can loan you the armor until you're all grown up and can earn your own. Simrig and commlinks in the 7th locker. I'll get a fly spy and beddie-bye med delivered by wed night. Faraday Cage in the morning. And I am not a cookie jar kid, it's 1 rating 3 license per person period, again you'll have it by wed night. Pick up will be at the Pack-n-Stash near there. Box 24371, code:shirtless. I don't want anything delivered directly to the bay to keep traffic at a minimum there.<<
When you check the locker there's a half dozen Renraku Sensei comms as well as several RFID tags and the aforementioned simrig as well as a battered Novatech Navigator.(DV3, array 6533, programs 2).

Derren clicked the percolator on and prepped a few mugs, grabbing the creamer off the side shelf. Anyone take sugar?
He looks at James, returning from his cigarette as he pours the soycaf out;
Yeah recon is a good idea. As for tomorrow though, I'm sure this place is gonna be swanky and unfortunately I'm all out of swanky suits, so I'll be handy with the big guns around the corner if shit hits the fan. Alright?
No time like the present eh, James shall we head down after this brew and take a look around?

Loki checked the locker and looked over the commlink, the stealth tags, and the simrig in his hands one by one, pocketing the first two when he was done with them. He'd talked to Alessia about getting his hands on a simrig because he was curious if he could record his jaunts into what he'd heard others refer to as "Astral Space" or simply just "The Astral" with it. "Time to find out!"

He then walked over to the car as he hooked the simrig up to his trodes, turned the small device on, and pocketed it in his inside coat pocket. With a thought he opened his minds eye to the dull, lifeless world of the Astral, and as he got into the car seat and buckled up he took a few deep breaths. In an instant, his body went limp and his consciousness was ripped out of his body and transported into the mystical plane of shadows and darkness. Loki felt cold as he looked around, the familiar feeling of emptiness threatening to overwhelm him, but he steeled himself and looked around. Sure enough, the somewhat dim auras of his companions were around him, the Professor shining bright as a beacon, the others ranging from weak to just a flicker.

Shuddering to himself once more, he looked more closely at each aura for the sake of the recording, then flew out of the car and towards his destination. "Who names their joint The Broken Pot, anyway. Silly name for a restaurant, especially a fancy one. Guess these corpers are just like the royals back home", he thought to himself as he tried to orient himself in the unfamiliar city. He flew around for a while, the darkness forgotten for a while as he passed other auras also flying around, and watched the watcher spirits that were posted every now and again looking for some unseen enemy. Coming to a stop from a speed that surely would have torn the bones out of his body had he attempted the maneuver in the flesh, he saw his target up ahead. The street signs were better than things like old fashioned books and other fleeting things, and he obviously didn't have augmented reality to work with. He checked the auras of a few passerbys to see if it would help him orient himself, but as usual he couldn't really pick up more than surface thoughts as to the people's basic mental states.

Surveying what he thought was the target from a distance as his body was being transported towards the physical location where the essence of his being was currently residing, he tried to make sure that he wouldn't be spotted by anyone looking for beings like him. It was a daunting task for sure, but he peeked out from behind astral shadows to steal the glance at the place before hiding back behind the shadows of real-world objects. After what felt like hours, he began searching for his body and once he located it he took another close up look of the Professors aura, grinning to himself the whole time, then jumped back into his body. Returning to his flesh always felt like being pricked with a thousand needles, but it was comforting to be able to feel his fingers move and look at the real world through his own eyes again.

Shaking off the effects of the Astral, he reached into his coat pocked and retrieved the simrig, then handed it to the Professor.

"Hey Teach, can you see what you can get out of this? Maybe you can throw it up on our AR or something... I don't know much about tech, so I'd like to know how this stuff functions..."

His curiosity spiked at an all time high as the Professor took the recorder and began fiddling with it. "I wonder how it'll feel like for a mundie to see his own aura real up close and personal." He suppressed a chuckle, and settled back with unabashed hope.

The Professor blinks, taking the thing. "Yep right.. here you go." he says turning it on for Loki's AR.

Yep. Sitting there. Fascinating. "And I'm the Professor. You also don't seem to have any sleeping disorders here. I must say its quite amazing that you can pass out so quickly. I typically need to shock myself to get to pass out that fast."

"Teacher, Professor, same drek, different name. I never got an education, but I'm doing well enough for myself. So, here's the lowdown, rewind a bit, would you?" As the Professor altered the playback, Loki watched the AR feed as if experiencing everything all over again. Being taken through the emotional journey backwards was severely disjointing, but the youth gritted his teeth and focused on the data stream.

"There, stop! When you see me go limp in a second, that's when I enter the Astral. Since you're so educated, Teach, I'm sure you know all about it. What do you see!? How does it feel to you? And what happens if you try watching it in VR? How do you even get access to VR, by the way? My old 'link couldn't handle it, I think.". Loki was almost giddy with excitement, leaning over and pointing here and there as if the Professor could actually see what he was seeing.

"Man, this is totally rad. I've got to keep this thing handy at all times; I could learn so much!" he said as the possibilities dawned on him. "I could record... EVERYTHING. Woah..."

Slumping back in his seat, the young Elf sat still for a long while, pondering the implications of his discovery.

You find the others can't see the astral information at all. Only the emotional ride that you perceived and projected during that experience is available to them. As you're watching it more details become obvious to you. The number of watchers and warded places are high to be sure. But, the variety of types mean that the makers of those spirits prepared for a number of possible attacks. The sheer number of times you had to stealth and hide made getting close-up detailed information almost impossible, still, you were able to get close enough to see that scrying was definitely warded against, and the watcher spirit that chsed him off meant business.
