When the bouncers surrounded O’Conner, it wasn’t possible to see him for a second through the wall of metahuman flesh, and then it was hard to follow him because he was moving so quickly, diving, spinning and parrying so many attacks it looked like there was two of him. He even managed to drop a couple of the brutes, or maybe forced them to drop each other, it was hard to tell.
By that point there were plenty of others ready to step in, Eddie was even looking to jump the rail and get closer to try his luck. Then the numbers game finally caught up, three bouncers coordinated movements, two of them sacrificing themselves to give the third an edge, and the adept went down.
Even then it wasn’t completely over though, as Clem and Sammy were finally working their way through the mass of people crowding in to see the fight one of the bouncers rolled out of the pile clutching himself in pain. But after that there were a few who were putting the boots to the restrained runner on the ground and then there was the sizzle of a stunbaton being applied an EXTRA long time.
O’Conner’s unconscious form was carried overhead by three bouncers while a fourth cleared the way to the emergency exit at the front of the building, which he was chucked through into the street. His boot, which had come off somehow in the melee, followed.
A smattering of appreciative noises rose out of the crowd, but whether it was for the security or your teammates feisty defense is not really clear.
“Never a dull moment at the K.” said Eddie, he sat back down as the club returned to normal.
