I'd just like to say I'm still here and still excited about playing the game.  If you want to get replacements, cool.  I'll stick around until we get moving again.  Since there are some doubling of rolls, the missing chars could just turn up dead, or say fuck it and go off solo.  The remaining amnesiacs would be even more dependent on one another should that occur.  Anyway, my 2 coppers, but like I said, I am down to keep going no matter the strategy.

Ravensoracle's disappearance is messing with Ryo's other game too. Ryo, if you don't want to take up Malevolence on his offer to assume The Detective, it might be possible to recruit some of the Kindred Bond players to take Ravensoracle's place over here (and/or Novocrane depending on whether he resumes posting). Did anyone ping Novocrane yet?

Another long one. I made the assumption (following Poindexter's lead) that Chino will drive as directed. I figure we can dump APB's body, examine the crate contents in more detail, and get to town (barring any unexpected visitors) without any input from Nova or Raven, but we need information so our decker is going to become the roadblock rather soon.

I've largely assumed that everyone goes along, but before actually acting on the plan I have left it open for people object if they like.

I like the long posts. Good to have some meat on the bones.

I'll give it a bit to let others chime in. If not, the Masked Woman has already performed a couple quick ceremonies for the hunters. She can do the same for APB.

Side note, I PM'd Novocrane and Ravensoracle last night. Still waiting to hear back. If Ravensoracle is gone for good, souffle_girl just posted that she's looking for a game and interested in decking.

Yeah, I pointed her here. I didn't even consider her Decker preference. Good catch. It's up to Ryo if he wants to recruit again, and of course souffle_girl if she's interested.
*crosses fingers*

Note to souffle_girl (if you are reading): I think it is bad form to post in an OOC thread that you are not a part of (I'm not sure of the etiquette, but I have followed that rule just to play it safe) so if you are interested in joining, don't post here, but PM Ryo directly. You probably know this, but just thought I'd point it out since the temptation might be there as you are the topic of conversation.

I PMed Ravensoracle and Novocrane awhile ago and never got a reply.

I'm somewhat reluctant to just replace them, since it gets kind of ridiculous at this point. The whole point of this game is to have a mystery that the players are trying to solve, so if I'm constantly switching out players, it's kind of difficult to maintain any actual suspense or investment in the game.

I'd appreciate one more round of recruiting. I think it is early enough that while the skills, qualities, and attributes are largely discovered, the mystery still remains. But I also understand if you are feeling disheartened - it is uncanny to have five out of seven players vanish without a trace.

Moving on, however, I'd like to levitate APB, carry her to a safe distance over the edge, then Fireball the corpse in an attempt to ignite her. My math looks like this, however, which is discouraging:
Levitate (only need one success, so pretty much guaranteed). Sustain for -2.
Cast fireball (Force 3-6, makes little difference) Magic 6 + Spellcasting 5 + Power Focus 2 - Sustaining 2 - Wounds 2 = 9 dice, averaging 3 hits. Need 3 hits to place.
APB resists damage (doesn't matter)
Armor resists catching fire: Armor 6 (second skin) + Fire resist 0 - Force AP = 0-3 dice depending on Force, 1 hit or less on average vs. my net hits as a threshold.
If I don't get 3 hits, the 2d6 scatter can be bad news. If I do get 3 hits, then she's pretty much guaranteed to catch fire as those hits also count for the purposes of setting the threshold.
Lastly, Drain resist of 2-5S depending on Force, with Cha 6 + Wil 6 = 12 dice, average of 4 hits.

Is this correct?

Fireworks show! I actually had this idea immediately after I made my last IC post but I elected not to go back and edit it.

Ohanzee's a shaman so can't summon fire spirits to engulf. Hmm. Maybe a Spirit of Man with Fireball as an Innate Spell?

I am really enjoying my character and am hoping this can continue but I also understand the hit to morale from players disappearing. I'm GMing my own game where we're down to 1.5 of the original 5 due to player disappearance. Of course that took three years and here we did it in about six weeks.

Ravensoracle logged on yesterday for the first time in three weeks. I guess that's a good sign although it didn't result in any posts. At least he's alive.

Yeah, that's another good option. I'd have to drop the water spirit to do it though, but I'm actually thinking about changing it out for an air spirit in order to provide Concealment and just leave Astral overwatch to you and I. Not sure how Concealment would work with the vehicle, but also not sure it matters - it'd be nice to have it harder to spot (especially with all the bullet holes) but I doubt the spirit can conceal it in the Matrix, which is likely how they'll try finding it anyway. It could at least keep us out of trouble from cops and casual observers if we decide to drive it in to town a ways. With the decoy plan shot now that we are nearly out of gas, I think it is best to just take the SUV all the way to Aspen with all due speed.

I think I'll go that route over fireballing it myself. Writing up the IC now.

This whole Street Grimoire thing with having spirits in tightly defined roles is frustrating. It makes getting more than 1-2 net hits on the summoning roll mostly useless as you swap them out after almost every service. Granted, as powerful as they can be, it's probably a good way of limiting them to keep players from just using spirits as an iwin button, but it is still frustrating to play sometimes.

Summon Spirit of Man Force 6
Summon Spirit of Man [Magic 6 + Summoning 6 + Focus 2 - Wounds 2]: 12d6t5 5
Spirit Resist
Spirit of Man Resist [Force 6]: 6d6t5 2
Drain Resist
Resist Drain [WIL 6 + CHA 6]: 12d6t5 5
No damage taken. Forgot my Centering, but it didn't matter.

Spirit Optional powers: Innate Spell (Fireball) and Psychokinesis

Summon Spirit of Air Force 6
Summon Spirit of Air [Magic 6 + Summoning 6 + Focus 2 - Wounds 2]: 12d6t5 3
Spirit Resist
Spirit of Air Resist [Force 6]: 6d6t5 2
Drain Resist
Drain Resist [WIL 6 + CHA 6 + Centering 1]: 13d6t5 6
No damage taken. Phew!

Spirit Optional Powers
Doesn't really matter as I only have one service which will be to conceal all of us and the vehicle if possible. But Guard and Fear should it matter.

Don't know if it is important, but here are the rolls for the Spirit of Man:
SoM casting Magic Fingers [Magic 6 + Spellcasting 6]: 12d6t5 6
SoM casting Fireball [Magic 6 + Spellcasting 6 - Sustaining 2]: 10d6t5 1 - Ouch, a miss!
Fireball scatter 1 [2d6]: 2d6-1 6 - yeah, not close enough to get the body.
SoM casting Fireball [Magic 6 + Spellcasting 6 - Sustaining 2]: 10d6t5 2 - he's not having a good day
Fireball scatter 2 [2d6]: 2d6-2 3 - but close enough to catch the body in fire
Since the fireball is force 6, the armor resists with 0 dice against a target number of 2 and catches fire.
Dunno what spirits use for drain, or if it is relevant. Even with wound modifiers, the second fireball gets its two hits. I'm not updating the IC unless it really matters.

Another long one. But APB deserved a proper sendoff, so no apologies here.

However, I do want to apologize to any Native Americans if I am butchering your mythology. I think what I'm writing is a bit of Native American and Norse with a healthy amount of Hollywood misinformation mixed in. I'm not really familiar with either mythology, so I'm mostly just following the Rule of Cool, which is if it sounds cool, use it. Except lasers - they are WAY cool, but only belong in Star Wars mythologies. Which could make for an awesome Tradition, but I digress.

Continuing on, if no one objects to it, Ohanzee is going to open the crate and assense the contents. Crossing my fingers that disturbing the artifact isn't what initiated the amnesia in the first place...

@Ryo
Give however long you like for rednblack or Poindexter to object (probably sometime Monday), but whenever you are ready, here's my assensing for the artifact once the crate is open:
Assensing Artifact [Intuition 4 + Assensing 4 - Wounds 2]: 6d6t5 1
Predictably, it sucks. Edging a reroll:
Edge Reroll: 5d6t5 1
2 hits total. Muy sucktastico, spending an edge point to achieve an average roll.

Four OOC posts in a row for Malevolence! Guess someone should break the streak.

I thought for sure I had Assensed the crate already but looking back I hadn't (and, furthermore, Ryo had said it couldn't be assensed without opening it). Maybe I confused it with using the cyberware scanner. In any event, Katsina better get in on this too.

Intuition 6 + Assensing 4 - 1 damage modifier = 9 dice = 4 hits

Just in case Ryo wants to treat it as a Teamwork test, I rerolled Ohanzee's two hits and got 1 extra hit. So that would be 5 total, if applicable.

Ryo hasn't been on in a week. I fear this may have met the most common PbP ending of them all.

I PM'd Ryo this morning. I proposed a few ideas to keep the game going. I'll let you know what I hear back.

How are everyone else's games going? Poindexter and rednblack are posting like madmen so I'm guessing those games are going well.
