The dredlocked man glared at Alicia but said no more as he quickly pressed his hands the length of the woman's body, gazing at her intently in what appeared to the The Sight. Then, satisfied he would do no further harm, hefted her into a fireman's carry. He wasn't that big a fellow, but then she was an elf, and they were always skinnier than they deserved to be.

He began to back towards the door he'd come in, eyes on both Alicia and her menacing spirit protector.

Up in the LAV, where is consciousness was, Dogmeat did a quick scan of the woods, using the bird's sensor suite to try piercing through the layers of rain, dust, and evergreen canopy. There were definitely heat signatures - at least one a troll - in two clusters at the edge of a clearing across from the car with the robot woman. He couldn't tell exactly how many individuals, however. And about forty meters to the north of the clearing, also in the woods, was a drone or small vehicle, with what looked like a still-hot weapon barrel.

Dogmeat wanted to shoot so much, but none of the targets seemed game changing or even obviously hostile. Being this disoriented reached out in frustration – there is not even a private way to deliver messages things are so bad it will probably do no further damage:
“This is Dogmeat: The LAV is in my hands now – Seer if you do not want to be captured – give me your coordinates so I can pick you up. Quickly before it is too late.”  Send them privately to me – (he added an encrypted channel to the cutters com link.
He directed the LAV to the east, and locked the guns on the drone or small car - he shorted the distance, reaching almost a spitting range from that mechanical being prepared to fire with any sign of hostility.  The sensors went wild trying to notice anything hostile. Both guns are both ready to fire at full auto.
Here goes nothing:
He also messaged his invisible drone to join the LAV to get a closer look to the east at maximum speed.
He "spoke " using the LAV sound systems in an artificial voice: “Cutter:  got any idea where this seer is? This is really our last option to claim even a partial success in this gig. “

Alicia got on her comn. "Dogmeat, I can see the seer through the window, She is in the clearing next to the wreck. She doesn't want to be rescued though. She's trying to give herself up to prevent further violence." Alicia got ready to cast a lightning bolt out of the window as a distraction. She was glad that the truce had at least made sure that some people wouldn't die, although from a more cold viewpoint, the wounded elf would keep the other merc occupied.

"Not a clue, friend," Cutter says, trusting the internal sensors of the aircraft to pick up his reply, "But I think I can take over here now. These controls don't look much different than the ones in my dad's that he flew when I was a kid."

Dogmeat, redirected the LAV to that clearing, he also directed his invisible drone to that same spot.

In the meanwhile, he loaded the AR displays with his drone feeds in small boxes, trying to be aware of the entire situation.

I might leave soon, so be ready to take control - if we do get there  - grab the girl he say to cutter.

He then text again to Alicia:

@alicia - we are coming in full speed  - flying low really low to make the transfer. Please try to let her know of her new option -  we might use some automatic fire  - but we will not shoot if not necessary - we want to save life.  I believe that if the seer is gone, the circus will be saved and all the bad guys will focus on the LAV. They did not come here for the circus they'll do what they can to stop us. You should hop in as well if you can. We'll need all the help we can get.

<<<@Dogmeat: You'll need to fly pretty low to the ground for us to grab anyone from the circus and most especially any mage-types. Mage-types aren't exactly well known for being able to jump very far.>>>

<<<@Cutter: I am doing my best - I think we'll actually need wheels to fly any lower. We will stop for a split second and take off again, this time as high as possible. The G force may be strong tough, so make sure you both have something to hold when we take off. Once we're high enough to avoid ground fire  I'll jump ro my roto drone and distract the guards you'll take the lead.  >>>

<<<@Dogmeat: Wilco. I'll make sure I'm strapped in and use some spare straps to try and toss out to the target.>>>

The dredlocked man exited the train car, awkwardly navigating his passenger through the door. Alicia saw him jump down to the ground - a real trick with another person laid out across his shoulders. He stumbled and fell to his knees on impact, but was soon back on his feet and traversing the short distance to the treeline.

Down at the south end of the train car, Ghost's opposite number started backing away slowly, never taking his sights off of Ghost's face. He linked up with the dredlocked man, covering the medic as they made for the woods.

They were almost to the trees when the captured T-bird screamed its way back onto the scene, decelerating deftly over the clearing, and then dropping rapidly an expertly into the tree-circled space. Alicia watched it plunge virtually to the ground before halting its descent right beside the little girl, who, from Alicia's viewpoint, showed little reaction.

From the cockpit, though, Cutter saw the little girl for the first time. She appeared to be no more than ten, and although dressed in a flimsy shift, seemed to mind neither the rain nor the incredible turbulence kicked up by the LAV's thrusters as they held the metal beast inches off the ground. Dead leaves, ash dust, and pine needles were swirling everywhere, but he could clearly see her face as she looked briefly at the open door, back at him, and shook her head calmly. With just a small movement of her hand, she waved him away. Her lips might have been moving, but there was no way anything could be heard over the roar of the turbofans.

[Saturday September 14th, 2075; Ruins of Graham, Puyallup, Seattle]

It wasn’t so much being tied to a chair that bothered Al so much. Hell, he’d slipped their ropes off his wrists in about ten seconds, and knew he could slough off the cords trussing his upper arms whenever he decided to stand up. Nor was it all the different ways they were talking about maiming-slash-killing him...once he woke up. He loved it when sadism hid its face behind decency. But then he’d planned no less painful an awakening for any of the clowns he captured alive, and still felt cheated they’d all been killed.

It did bother him a little that, along with his weapons, they’d taken his jacket. He didn’t like anyone else touching his Pa’s jacket. But he’d get that back too.

No, what really bothered him, as he sat there pretending to be out cold, was that they’d left his earpiece in. And he was a vegan and a Democrat if his colleagues out there didn’t sound like they were having one whale of a good time without him.

He’d have to get out of here soon, or risk missing all the fun.

Dogmeat was not surprised when the seer did not want to go. However, he was surprised that no one was shooting at the LAV. It may be too late, he thought – but he could not give up so fast.

He used the speakers on the LAV to say a few words.

Seer! The people that attacked the circus are after you and you alone. They do not care about the circus one bit.  If you want to preserve both your circus and your freedom hop in the LAV – we will continue this fight in a secluded place without endangering innocent life.  You will remain free – your circus will be protected. Your freedom is precious – do not give up so easily.

Alicia and Ghost watched their three erstwhile enemites fade into the trees to the south of the clearing.

Meanwhile, Cutter watched the girl shake her head as she moved her lips. She was shouting, but only for a moment before realizing how hopeless it was to try being heard over the scream of the T-bird's engines as they harmonized with the white noise of the wind and rain. The small girl did her best to give a reassuring nod, and even ventured a thumbs-up, though the gesture seemed awkward for her.

Then she walked into the trees, where the LAV's thermo sensors showed Dogmeat a troll and at least two humans waiting for her, well hunkered down behind tree trunks.

松井 郎 Matsui Ichirō did not understand what was going on. It is all chaos. Wrecked vehicles. An LAV. A Zeppelin. Dust. Chaos. All chaos. It matters not. For there is purpose. And as long as the purpose remains all chaos is naught. He held the 13 Spades from the deck in his left hand. It is fitting that the English term for the tool they use to bury the dead is a spade, neh?

"I have come for you",shouts Ichirō at the three men just inside the tree line. "Not only are you cowards to kill a man from hiding- you now presume to harass little children. To call you Eta would be a disservice to eta. You who are lower than the lowest caste. Will you meet me in combat or will you hide behind your minions? Well?"

Dogmeat is silent. However, he jump into his invisible roto drone to track the group. Trying to find out where they are taking the seer.

<<@cutter - I am jumping out of the LAV - I can be back here in a second if you need to shoot anything or to quickly escape.>>

Assuming control of the T-bird, Cutter watched the little girl walk into the trees, joining a number of other shadowy forms.

They were still in sight, however, when they all stopped abruptly, and Cutter's low-light enhancements could just make out a large form that had emerged to challenge them.

Whirring along only a bit behind and above the group, Dogmeat's own light-amplification system revealed a clear video image of an large, horned metahuman with bright red skin facing off against those that now accompanied the Seer.

For his own part, Ichiro heard his sworn enemy say, "Umm, I guess I'll take hide behind minions for a thousand," and reach for a weapon, even as the accompanying troll moved to put himself between Ichiro and his target.

And in that very moment, one of the others accompanying the seer pulled something out of a pouch and, stepping up furtively behind the distracted little girl, placed it atop her head. She immediately cried out, her body twisting in confusion, but her attacker picked her up and tossed her over his shoulder as if she was no more than the prepubescent child she pretended to be.
