"Pleased 'ta meet ye Eve.  Call me Mams.  As for a quick stop, 'twould be brill ta swing by an electronics outlet if they've one in town.  Could use a backup up-link in case we end up wandering a bit further than the guidelines of the tour.  I'm known for a walk-about now and then and they come in mighty helpful out there."  He says with a cheery grin.

Sorry if my "accent" is crap.  I'm tryin' here :P

The minute Knives hits the platform he has a cigarette in his mouth and looks about for no smoking signs.  He eyes Eve up and down then nods, "Pleasures all mine.  Friends call me Knives.  All I need is a nic fix right quick an I'll be ready.  Even better ifn I can smoke in the van."

A quick AR search showed that there was a small radioshack store in the centre, about 5 mins walk from the station. It would sell pretty much any of the major brands of mid range and budget range links. A kiosk opposite the concourse sold prepay links in denominations of 5,10,20 quid for a cardboard cased burner as well as cigs, sandwiches and cans of soft drinks.

"Oi, Eve, mind if we head over to the RadioShack down the street before we roll out?"

He'll buy a sat uplink there.  Book price is ¥500 and availability is 6.

"Not at all, like I said, any last minute things you need to do before the tour, we're still on schedule as is."

She turns towards Knives.

"I don't mind smoking in the vehicle but please remember to mind the other passengers and not make it look like we've got a forest fire in there, so you might want to take that time and get a few puffs here."

She gives a bright smile to Silas next.

"And how about you luv?  Need any last stops before we get on the road?

"I'm Silas" he said as a greeting. "No stops for me either, I can summon when we get there. Porbably be less conspicous anyway. Thanks for the thought anyway."

You all meandered out into the cold morning air and had a pootle about Darlington town picking up a few bits and bobs from the shops.
You drew a few stares from the locals, Mams especially, but no-one gave you any hassle.
Eventually you headed back to the van in the multi-storey carpark by the train station and loaded your kit into it, Ena still playing the chirpy tour-guide and you dumped as much of your stuff into the storage locker would hold and then filled the spaces under seats, the spare tire compartment and all the other nooks and crannies.
It was going to be a cosy/i] couple of days, especially without shower facilities!
Ena clicked the internal screens on and connected to the pop up host that Bex had arranged.

//Morning. Hope the train ride was pleasant, unfortunately you've all got a few days of the wilds to balance things out a touch. You've all accepted the job, and we expect results within 3 days at the latest. I want a full infiltration and evaluation of the house (the screens showed a montage of stills from a drone's recon footage), and these outbuildings here (the screens lit up with images from an aerial or satellite shot, circled and arrowed to show direction from the main house. We suspect the rest of the nearby grounds to be hiding other facilities, so keeping a keen eye and surveying the area will be necessary.
The wildlife is not known for being friendly, and the weather is a bit perky this time of year, so don't get eaten and don't freeze to death. Not until you've sent reports to me anyway. Redline has my details, I expect a report of each day's activities and findings to be sent by midnight. Questions?//

//No? Good. Redline will fill you in on the situation on the ground as she's been covering the ground on the initial recon. Get eyes-on today and get set up. Like I said, I expect a report by midnight tonight with your findings and activities. Good luck.// <<User logged out of host: BeX_1010>>
The flashy and overly curvaceous avatar she used disappeared in a flicker and Redline cut the connection to the host at your end, returning the internal screen to the vehicle diagnostics screen it had been displaying before.
You'd got your job, you were in the van and had done the shopping. The only thing you needed to worry about now was getting the job done.

"Okay, I guess next step is to get on site.  Who brought the sammies?"  He looks around at the assembled group, his perpetual child-like grin makes it hard not to laugh with him.

"Better question, who brought the scotch?  A quick nip will warm ya up on a cold night."  Knives chuckles then his face grows serious.  "Oi, Redline was it, you see any boots on the ground?  I assumed we were the first sent to ave a looksee.  Can't tell much from yer surveillance, jus looks like a rundown farm house."

"Well supplies for a 3-day trip won't just be scotch and sandwiches you know...   If you lot don't have some supplies packed away we'll stop partway for a little more of a food run but remember, only civilization that seems to be in that area is the target.  As for opposition?  I didn't actually see anyone on-location.  I saw a couple of guard-gangers on the approach checkpointing the area, but I'm not entirely sure if they were related.

I ran afoul of a critter right by the target though, so there's definitely those around, and if they found the body they might be on slightly higher alert, if only to keep an eye out for nearby creatures."

Ena's demeanor has shifted subtly, and gone is the bubbly tourguide persona.  She sizes  up each of the other members in turn and then shrugs lightly.

"Which brings me to the next question.  Any of you lot of have experience operating in the brush?"

"I brought a survival kit, should have enough rations for a few days.  When I was told a few days in the country I didn't think we'd be completely in the fackin middle a nowhere.  I ain't worried bout no critters though, I can andle em."

Knives leans back, "Nah not much time in the brush.  I'm more of yer big city street tough sort, I prefer to stay in the Smoke."

"Same on the survival kit bit. As for the brush, not too much time. Mostly been city operating, but I can probably tough it out if needed." Silas said. Besides which, he'd be dead in a while anyway.

"Aye, was told we'd be roughing it and have provisions" he says as he pats his pack.  "And the cold, so I got some insulation for the coat.  As for experience, well there was that time in Scouts, but that was 15 years ago.  The Ol' Smoke is home for me.""

Ena's mouth twists into a slight grimace.

"So what we're looking at is a bunch of cityfolk in the country.   Well it's what the client wants I suppose?"

She waves her hand absently, obviously bringing an unseen AR into view then dismissing it.

"We have a little while before we completely leave civilization.  Anyone have requests for the last guaranteed hot meal before we have to cook our own?"
