Ivory can use her air spirit to pick her up. Or some of the other climbers could assist her.
Overall even if she falls it is no big deal as Ivory negotiated a deal with the water spirit . She now owes him one service but he quickly stopped the flood and rain.

The air spirit has a psychokinesis spell, so she could hold Inanna if she can see her.

BTW: since I cannot imagine how IT could handle such an extreme temperature for a long time, I put her in hypothermia.

If Inanna could have some help, that would be preferable.  She is not dressed for this occasion, which might be one reason why she would pull out climbing set.  Her shoes are not made for muddin' it.

Flash flood warning.  Climbing checks all around (unless you happen to be in flight) to avoid slipping, Threshold 3.  Threshold of 3 on a Reaction + Intuition test to catch your guide before she slides out of your grasp.

Heavy rain, so visibility for catching the woman is at -6, mitigated by Thermo-vision, ultrasound, etc.

Inanna has no way of hitting a threshold 3 on a climbing test.  Knowing that climbing is not her strong suit, I think that she would have pulled out the climbing gear, but you said earlier that doing so would be overkill.  Advise?

Well, overkill for a normal person.  I imagine someone who knows their ability to climb is pretty below average would definitely pull out the gear, even if the average person wouldn't.

Hitting the sack now.  Anyone who wasn't around for it, go ahead and RP the storm if you haven't yet, and what you are doing on the mountain as you wait for your Kim (Korean term for Johnson) to show up.

I can modify one of the IC to say that the spirit used Psychokinetic power to catch her. Or you can write it in your own IC -  I'll subtract the service. (I plan to release the spirit when we get off the mountain anyhow).

Topic while I'm sleeping:

What is the best way for me to pace events like this?  I feel like people got left out, and I don't like that, but I'm also concerned that if I pace the beginning of the game too slowly, people will lose interest and drop.  What are some good ways you guys have handled this in other games?

I assume you'd mostly  like to use a slower pace when you want  all of us to roll dice.Otherwise the pace is fine

I think we're just on some opposite schedules.  I don't mind playing catch-up, and I'd rather a game move more quickly than more slowly.

I'm fine with the pacing, but yeah, during parts where input from all members is critical you might need to give peeps some time. Because we are all over the world here, there will be at least 8 hour gaps between postings once a day per player as people go to sleep. In my case, the delay is closer to 10 or 12 as I usually don't have time to post when I get up until after I get in to work (so eight hours of sleep, an hourish of morning routine, a half hour commute, and then however long it takes to get situated in the office, which depends heavily on what's going on that day). I'm a night owl and work the late shift, so my post schedule tends to align better with yours (Siren) so in my case you may not notice the delay as much as others, but it is still something to be aware of. I think that the whole mudslide ordeal was dealt with in the space of about two hours so many folks were likely sleeping and just did not have the opportunity to react.

I'm in favor of a more rapid pace in general, but I can see how with such wildly differing timezones we might have to make allowances.

going to be leaving for GGJ within the hour, not really been progress enough for me to make a last minute post so will have to leave things as they stand for now... hopefully have done enough to give some idea how Yako ticks to be controlled for a few days while I'm out... I might check in occasionally to read updates, but don't expect posts until Monday.

Alright, thanks for the heads up.

As far as pace, I'll try to keep it snappy, while allowing for time on player-input-heavy sections.  Combat especially may drag a bit, but that is the nature of PbP, and I don't think anyone here will have any serious problem with it.

Updating soon.

Alright, since Inanna is way out of her element here, I'm rolling Composure, mostly for my own edification.

Composure: 10d6t5 3

Good enough for me.

Now, let's see about Negotiation with Yeong Hi.  Base roll is 11 + 3 (Tailored Pheromones) + 2 (First Impression) + 4 (Improved Charisma) = 20

Negotiation V. Yeong Hi: 20d6t5 8

Forgot 1 die for Berwick Dress/Argentum coat on Wireless.  I'm assuming only 1 die is gained, even if the char: die from Berwick Dress: 1d6t5 0
Nothing.

Better than average.  Social Limit is base 7 + 3 (Tailored Pheromones) + 1 Berwick Dress/Argentum Coat = 11.

Inanna is still well below her Limit, so I'm going to edge and re-roll failures:

Negotiation Edge (re-roll failures): 13d6t5 8

Hell of a roll.  Inanna hits her Limit: 11

IC forthcoming. Done.

ETA: Gilga reminded me that Inanna should have a new social limit because of her increased Charisma.  New base is 10 + 3 (Tailored Pheromones) + 1 (Berwick  Dress/Argentum Coat) = 14.  So Inanna hits her limit of 14.

That's a hell of a negotiation roll. Innana could broker peace between Israel and Pakistan.
