Well, Elemental Attack is bad enough as it is (Magic x 2)P DV and -Magic AP, where Magic = Spirit Force. So a Force 6 spirit has 12P, -6 AP base + hits. The toxic spirits have the additional advantage of bypassing armor with their toxic attacks, so they are that much more lethal. As a Hermetic, you have Fire spirits as your combat type, and they have Elemental Attack, so they can really make for a bad day for whoever you point them towards. But, yeah, toxic spirits are slightly stronger, hence the lure of the dark side. Shamans get Beast spirits as their Combat spirit, which are horribly ineffective by comparison (no notable attack ability by default, Natural Weapons as an optional power which is only Magic P DV with no AP).

Oh, yeah, and secondary effects:
Beast spirit: None
Fire Spirit: Chance to catch stuff on fire
Toxic: Anaphylactic Shock does 1DV (unresisted) per CT until stabilized (death counts as stabilization)


On the plus side, if I am reading this right, the pollutant based attack is essentially via inhalation, so if James can activate his gas mask, it becomes a non-issue.

We should  focus on regrouping.The only one who is safe atm is Kyoko but I don't think we are infiormed about her whereabouts

She will  be really happy to toss in spirits. The way I picture her is kind of like a gurdian angle, powerful but fregile.  Someone that can unexpectedly interfere when far away but requires protection in the closer range. This is why I gave her drones, spirits and insisted that she'll be a full mage so that she can astrally project and manifest, to talk to people or fight spirits in the astral.

Also I think I'll give the two bound spirits names and personality as with 8 services we might have them with us for a while. I was thinking about a fallen angle named grace, with some anglic features as well as dark demonic features. The air spirit will named chase that looks like well an air elemental. ;)  Less imagination on air spirits unless anyone has a more exciting idea. 

But for Mr. T -  I imagine him to be the kind of spirit that loves the thrill of fight. Because he was summoned at a moment where the adrenaline was up - I kind of imagine that feeling got embeded in the way he chose to present himself.

Not great.  Using edge to re-roll failures.  (I sure hope chapters's end with things like, showing up at the safehouse, etc.)

That's 5 hits, which is 1 under the limit.

Base damage is 7S -5AP

Spirit should be faced with: Defender in melee (-3).  Since the spirit acted after James, if shouldn't be faced with the -1 from previously defending, though it will suffer that modifier on James' next attack.

I'm pretty sure I hear him cackling maniacally at our predicament. I'm sure he'll recover soon.


On a more serious note, it seemed like his job was getting a little hectic from his last posts. I imagine he'll be back once he gets his head above water. Hopefully that'll be soon. At this point it's only been a couple days (and a weekend at that), so I wouldn't be too worried yet.

Sludge spirit, water based.  Just don't get any in your mouth.  I see you edged you dodge roll.  I'll update the IC to reflect it.

And all is perfectly fine, just a false alarm.  I was worried you guys had given up on me. I have plans with this game and some ideas I'm eager to try.
