Yelena uses her superior ability in the water to push against the ganger.  His cybered grip is no real match for the slipperiness of the octopus tentacles.

Dodge:  Dodge w/ Edge: 12d6t5 4  Use edge to reroll misses:  Edge reroll misses: 8d6t5 3  7 hits to dodge

Yelena smiles internally as she squirts her ink and jets away from the ganger who is obviously hindered by his human limitations.

"It wasn't the troll, you idiot.  There was another decker eating your lunch while you were off playing with car toys..."

Huh?  Decker?

"Yes, decker.  Baka!  If you don't believe me, here!"

From out of nowhere, AR superimposed over my vision and the logs of the last moments of the Americar's intact life flashed before my eyes.  I quickly absorbed the evidence.

"The Jade Dragons have a decker!" I cried aloud as I gathered the import of what I was seeing.  The words were immediately followed by a hacking cough accompanied by sharp pain in my right ride.  Something drooled out of my mouth.  I couldn't seem to move my right hand up so with my left I wiped my lips.  My hand withdrew and I could see red froth on my fingers.

Blood?

"According to the car, the airbags deployed when we impacted and the structural integrity of the passenger side was compromised.  There's a wireless medkit trying to save your life right now and I'm streaming its data now.  I'd say you've been impaled by your door."

That explains the blood, pain, and why my right side won't work.

"Reasonable deduction."

Was there a head injury?

"Not according to the medkit, but it's focused on your torso so there's no telling for sure."

So either a head injury and/or blood loss explains the fact I'm having a conversation with my deck?

@ Yelena  Tendrils of shadow beckon Yelena forward, deeper into the Sound and she feels the mage begin to struggle weakly, and then suddenly she struggles hard against Yelena's hold, clearly in a panic. Yelena feels her thigh grabbed and suddenly excruciating pain courses through her body from that point. Around her the water is suddenly bubbling in odd streams with an odd popping noise. And then it literally hits her, bullets aimed at her! This is what they look and sound like under water! Yelena feels the mage stop struggling in her arms and the water suddenly tastes funny. A bit like iron.

@ Marco  The new glasses are magnificent. The level of magnification is excellent. He has much better vision as a bird of course, but still, this is a good compromise. The gangers coming up from the van are all face down. And the Jade Dragons on bike and in vans are accounted for. They are far more worried about the accident than about any other threat. Suddenly, a ganger pops up from the water, arm raised in a furious wave. His lips move, but Marco can not tell what he's saying from this distance. Some of his teammates don't seem to have the same trouble as Marco sees guns suddenly brought to bear aimed at the water and Yelena!

Death Touch at 4 net hits. Resisted with Willpower.

@ Subaru & Arc & Tuskaloosa  "Nothing ventured, nothing gained" The words come out of nowhere.

I watch the gangers amass on the bridge, their guns drawn and they seem to be watching the water. I know that they do not deserve my love but my love is the only thing that can provide some cover for Yelena. My love is infectious, distracting and difficult to resist. I channel all my emotions at the guards that stand on the bridge putting my whole heart into the task. Emotions and passion, I watch them  with curiosity - trying to understand exactly how they are going to react. These men are probobly super aroused right now, and pulling the trigger seems the last thing in their mind.

That kind of passion is difficult to manipulate and I can feel that it takes part of my health with it. I am definately slinging more than is healthy for me. I feel the pain but it is intoxicating. My nose begins to bleed and the sensation of blood only makes my passion stronger. If they weren't trying to kill us, I'd fuck all of them in a majestic orgy.

Marco will cast at Force 8 (ouch!) and will use edge to reroll.
Oppium Den + edge: 16d6t5 5
Oppium Den + edge  (reroll faliures): 11d6t5 2
Drain resistance:
Drain: 11d6t5 5
The magnificant Marco pulls that off with two physical damage. 7 hits on oppium Den)

"Nothing ventured, Nothing gained..."

What is that supposed to mean? I ask my suddenly talkative deck.

"I have no idea.  It didn't come from me!"

Once again I try to make my eyes work, but the world is still blurry.  I look toward Arc and hope she's more in touch with the meat world than I am...

As the two work out how to free the helpless decker from the confines of the car door, Arc only gave a bit of a wince and a nod to the troll.  "I've popped the trunk.  Go for it, be gentle..."

As the troll was grabbing a cutting tool from the Americar, Firefly made her exclamation, the sound reverberating on the mechanic's ears before she could process what she heard.  The head blow must look ugly as drek.  Well, been through worse...  "Ahhh, frag it, the figures...wasn't planning for that.  Drek all...they did us pretty good.  I'll keep low in case he finna work us again...oh drek, the drones.."

Using her focus, she tried to call the remaining fly spies to attention, trying to get a fix on their signal and take control, sending one back to her whIle the other went back to the bridge, flying high under the cover of night.  It was at this point that a foreign voice announced its presence, snapping her back to reality.

"Huh?  Whoozat?  Show yself, fragger!"  with gritted teeth against the pain, the girl pulled herself forward, just enough to reach her cyber hand behind her back to her pistol, ready to defend herself...

@ Marco & Yelena  The mage struggles to free herself, trying to use the pain of her touch to get Yelena to let go. Above the water on the bridge the gangers are a mass of confusion as Marco's spell hits them. The intense passions of the moment as they see their comrades coming up from the depths and the intense passions of the spell combine in odd effects on the gangers below. Marco watches as some begin passionately having sex right there on the road. A few jump over the bridge railing, perhaps trying desperately and lovingly to save their comrades. A few fights break out between gangers as they fight over the same person. The very few who manage to resist the spell have their hands more than full trying to bring order back to the chaos that is their fellow teammates. One thing is certain, the trid is going to have one hell of a news story tonight.

@ Arc, Tuskaloosa & Subaru  An odd giggle comes from the alleyway, "Showing yourself got you shown up." and then from behind the car, "Did your venture gain?" the giggle continues. The flyspies mercifully are far less cryptic responding to Arc's commands smoothly. Arc's vision is suddenly filled with the sight of her beloved Americar. Ouch! Fragged proper! I will certainly owe that decker one.

Marco thinks at his Daemon and then toward Yelena, "Are you alright? can you subdue the mage? There is a nearby beach where the guards do not have line of sight to us, a little bit to the north... lets meet there."  With that he waits for a conformation before sneaking away from his post toward a the further point in the beach. Marco summons the bike to that point as well.

More voices.  Just what I need, even more voices...

"Hey!"

I ignore the voice from the back of my head in favor of the one I think is coming from my ears.  I'm still disoriented enough that I can't tell for sure what is real and what isn't, but watching Arc respond to the latest voice contributes to my confidence that it is real and not my imagination.   I'm pretty useless right now with a door in my chest, but there's one thing I can do that none of the others can.

I leave my body behind and slip out of my carcass to have a look around me in astral space.  I'm still in poor shape like this due to my blood loss, but at least I don't feel the pain and I can move.  Maybe I might be able to see what the heck else wants to taunt me when I'm down...

The sight of the car almost seemed to hurt Arc worse than the impact itself.  Inside she was torn...this was her first real possession among the Howlers, the first thing she could call rightfully hers.  She knew that if this team were to continue she would need a bigger ride, but there is the emotional bond between a car and driver to consider, right?

Either way, she can't think on that now, as she has more pressing matters to deal with.  The other drone was approaching the bridge, and the sight she got to bear witness to, no matter how strange it was, confirmed that the van went in the drink.  At least that went right...

"I don't know what ya here for, but if wanted to finish us off, ya would done so already.  So out with it, what you want with us?"  Arc could not see the owner of the voice, and could only hope that Tuskaloosa was looking.  "...venture was with gain.  At least I hope.  What's it to you?"

Tuskaloosa reached the trunk in a heartbeat, and lifted the lid eager to find what she needed to sever Firefly's chunk of debris from the rest of the door.

Her heart sank as she looked at the array of proper tools...all human sized.  They looked like a child's First Tool set.
She grabbed a crowbar and reciprocating saw anyway, along with duct tape and a glue gun.

The Americar had been reflected off the wall;  it wasn't much, but there was a gap wide enough for a small troll.  Firefly's window was still there, but only thanks to the safety glass; the window was a jigsaw wall.  Tuskaloosa carefully wedged her survival knife along the sides and top of the frame, then peeled it back.

The decker was still conscious, but was yelling about the Jade Dragon decker.  The troll added head trauma to the list of the girl's injuries, but let the obvious (and late) discovery slide as she did her best to examine the tortured door's inner side.

     “Nothing ventured, nothing gained.”

Quickly she looked up: she could see no one. Just peachy...
     “Show yself, fragger!” Arc growled.
At least I'm not the only one who heard that...
“Showing yourself got you shown up.  Did your venture gain?”  The voice moved from alley to the rear  of the car, giggling.
Still nothing. Great, the troll thought, first Nicolai and now this.

Like Nicolai, if their chatty observer wanted them, they'd be dead already.  She turned her focus back to  the task before her.
Arc echoed her thoughts: “I don't know what ya here for, but if wanted to finish us off, ya would done so already.  So out with it, what you want with us?...venture was with gain.  At least I hope.  What's it to you?”
No doubt about that, she thought to herself.  We gained quite the adventure.  Now if we could only lose the car door in Firefly's chest without killing her...

     The decker slumped.

Was it worse than I thought? “Fi--”
Arc hissed at her, then shook her head slightly: no names.
     “But--”
The human looked down at the quiet Medkit.
Right—if she was flat-lining, the kit would be screaming about it.  So, she dimmed the lights...Heckofa time to leave home, though!

@ Arc, Tuskaloosa & Subaru A skinny halfer popped out of the alley. Dressed in a motley collection of rags he was practically cavorting around the Americar. "Know enough, know enough. Little tools aren't trolls stuff."

Yelena feels the mage squirm and a jolt of pain courses through her body.  The shadow Yelena has wrapped around herself protects the octopus body from taking any damage.

Resist Death Touch:  Resist Death Touch w/ edge: 6d6t5 4

She squeezes with the four arms already wrapped around the other woman to try to dissuade her from repeating that sort of spell.  Even slowed by the weight of the mage, Yelena makes good speed, using the current to aid her escape.  Her immediate goal is to put as much distance between her and the bridge as possible in a few seconds.  The mage will die if left too long exposed to the water and not able to breathe.  Yelena almost feels sorry for the woman, who must be panicking.  She thinks a note to the demon and Marco.  **Marco.  Yelena have mage.  Not fragging know where north is.  Swim with current to leave bridge.  Yelena get near shore so surface.  Mage and Yelena need dry clothes.  Marco come find?**

Marco thinks at Yelena "Just get up somewhere we are mentally connected and I have no problem in following. Not at the bridge as too many bad guys are there and I am not sure how long they'd stay under my spell or if all of them are actually under my spell." He passes Yelena a mental image of the orgy. Grinning to himself and sneaking toward the bike. It is not very difficult to sneak passed the gangers while they are so distracted but Marco makes his best effort to do so anyhow. Once on the bike he orders it to rendezvous with Yelena.
