Happy Monday, everyone. I am still on vacation today and tomorrow. Wednesday is a travel day so I will be offline most of the day. Thursday and Friday I will be in the office so I'll be back in front of a computer.

It sounds like we're past the part where the RP was centered on Doc and Ohanzee more than the others. If people's lives are settling down a bit, I'm hoping we can return to a more regular posting schedule, especially as the team needs to debrief and consider its next steps. Tec Jr's arrival date is in six weeks so I'll be nudging things along the best I can.

Next steps
IC post from Doc to set up the satellite connection with camp
IC post from Ohanzee relaying what happened (or Doc could do this in his post)
IC discussion from everyone

I'll get a post up this afternoon.

@Tech, what rolls do you want from Doc for confirming that we are not compromised.  AFAIK, marks are needed for tracking folks.

Also,  Doc will just reboot all of the equipment as soon as they are out of the meeting.

It depends on how much Doc knows about Technos. Resonance actions don't require marks. Creative uses of Puppeteer might allow a device to share information such as a GPS history and so on. Technos may suck as PCs, but they are scary as NPCs.

Doc doesn't know he was dealing with a techno.

True, but he might take precautions against them "just  in case," or if he is familiar with them, he might even be able to put two and two together from observations, such as why there were two agent programs when there was only one persona belonging to a user and decks can only run one agent. There are many explanations for that (for some reason a decker - or two, assuming she isn't a decker - sent their agent along but did not accompany them), but if he is familiar with Technos, that would likely rank high on his list of possibilities. Doc did fail to check if Jager had a sleaze rating, or if any of her stats differed from the DR, so we don't know if she was forming her persona on a deck or a commlink, which might have made the presence of not one, but two agent programs even more suspicious.

Jäger wasn't running silent so Doc could be able to find out everything he could within a few seconds. Her ratings:

A: 5
D: 5
S: 5
F: 8

Doc can roll Matrix Perception to look for MARKs:

Intuition 4 + Computer 5 + Codeslinger 2 + VR 2 + Qualia 1: 14d6t5 5 hits

Doc does not find any foreign MARKs, nor anything else that seems irregular (last Matrix action is as expected, etc.).

Doc reboots everything.

DR 7 with attack and sleaze? That basically spells Techno as a DR 7 deck would be beyond top of the line and would have around all 9s for stats (since the DR 6 Paladin has an array of 9988) . Firewall 8 also means that she's submerged at least once with exceptional attr. WIL, twice without it, or a dwarf with either one submersion or Exceptional Will.

To be honest, I had expected her to be a mage and the Techno to have somehow escaped notice (or not have been present, simply sending his sprites to accompany her). I'm a little surprised that Jäger herself is a Techno. Which is to say, that was probably not Jäger, but a rather good imposter. Which means their intent was to sabotage the deal.

Doc should quickly come to the conclusion that she was a Techno, and once he relays this to Ohanzee, he'll pretty much follow my chain of logic above (if Doc doesn't beat him to it) and realize that a viable option would be to try reaching out to the real Jäger and trying again. Hopefully the techno will believe they have succeeded and we can avoid their interference in the actual negotiation.

Doc probably has enough clues to infer "technomancer".

Everything after that is open to player interpretation.

Let's get some IC posts up.

I've got a big draft worked up with logic issues, but it's moot.
I'll just post up what Mal has surmised this afternoon.

Deck:
Programs: Agent, Browse, Toolbox, Encryption
A: 4 S: 5 D: 7 (8 ) F: 6 (7)

Agent assisting search (12+2 = 14): 14d6t5 5
Jäger Search + TW test from Agent (Comp 5 + Int 4 + Ganglia 1 + VR 2 + TW 5 = 17): 17d6t5 7 Limit 9
And edging to cut down on time:
Edging for search (10 misses): 10d6t5 4 (expensive 2 hits, but I don't want to spend 12 hours on this)

Assuming a target of 6, and 12 hours, Browse makes base time of 6/3 = 2 hours.  Still a long time, but *way* better than 12 hours.

Thanks to Zweiblumen for the IC post. I'll post some initial findings from Doc's search when I'm in the office tomorrow.

@Malevolence
I'd like to get an IC post up for Ohanzee with his message back to base (even if it's just a "reports everything that was said" gloss-over), followed by IC discussion from the group.

I was under the impression that comms would be impossible between the away crew and home base.  Has something changed?

You bought a satellite link (p. 439, SR5) at the Apex (the PCC Stuffer Shack competitor) in Rifle. In your defense, it was three months ago:

He grabs the biggest bag he can find of the offending sounding chips, and hands them off to Sam, so they can go grab a satellite uplink.

So, yes, there's a wireless signal back at camp. It's noisy and probably gives Doc a headache, but it works.

I realized I was using the wrong color for Katsina's thoughts (orange instead of blue), so I went back and changed them. That orange can be hard to read on the grey background.

@Poindexter Please post when you can.
@rednblack Chino can chime in on the comm discussion too.

Doc's matrix search is ongoing. The biggest to-do for the team is to figure out next steps. As always, post early, post often.

I'm wondering what Ace might know about TMs and there weirdness on the comms front.
LOG+Security (comms security): 9d6t5 5

Also, I think Ace may have a latent prejudice or phobia against TMs.  I'm going to play him as such, common as it is for someone with his specialties.

I'm not sure what Chino would think about the comms discussion.  He doesn't have any relevant skills that I can think of, and he may think it could be fun to boot one in the face in combat, so even if he was afraid that a TM could be coming down the pipe, I'm not sure that he'd want to interfere.  Of course, the nanintes may have other ideas.
