I alluded to it IC, but Ohanzee's shopping list includes some new threads (maybe something with a wireless social bonus) ...
Not a bad idea. Your biggest hurdle will be Availability, since Grand Junction isn't exactly a fashion mecca. Between the agrarian nature of the community and the depressed economy, supply is going to be tight. Also, anything with Custom Fit is going to take a while to get fitted, which will slow you down.
I'll say that you can find Vashon Island, but not Armanté, Mortimer of London, or Zoé. Your best bet might be the Vashon Island: Ace of Coins (Armor 7, Capacity 10, Availability 4, ¥2,100, Increase Social Limit by 3, Wireless: +1 dice pool bonus to Social Tests). It's garish (black juggernaut hide with platinum thread stitching and solid gold accents) and Ohanzee will stick out, but he'll look awesome doing it.
...and at least one or two fly-spy style drones. They are versatile - they can give us better visibility on our surroundings, act as scouts, and just generally give us better situational awareness.
Also not a bad idea. Good news: I'm going to label these "electronics", so they only cost 80% of their listed price (as per
Nation American Nations, Vol. 1). Bad news: Nobody has the skills or a RCC to pilot the drones, so you'll have to rely on their Pilot programs.
Maybe our own vehicle so we can stop renting the van? Though there isn't anything in our price range that would hold us all (much less all of us plus gear plus artifact if need be).
You could buy used, but between that and the items above you'd be spending most, if not all, of your budget. But, your logic is sound. On that note...
ETA: Nice Pulp Fiction reference, btw.
ETA2: I'd like to roll Security Tactics to see if Ace is being a little overly paranoid, or if he's on the right track as for as his knowledge pool would suggest SecForce is doing.
Knowledge Roll: Security Tactics: 9d6t5 3
Middling.
Thank you; always glad when someone catches the references. And, a good idea to roll.
The van you have is rented under Ohanzee's SIN. Back in February (February 20th, if you want to go back and check for yourself), we weren't explicit about whether he was using his real SIN or his fake SIN. I presumed his fake one, but it's unclear. (Tangent: Ohanzee has a National SIN and a fake SIN. According to Ryo's records, they both were under the same name. I don't know if there's a logical reason why Ohanzee would have a fake SIN that would use his real name. It might be convenient for keeping identities straight, but it seems like a good way for one to dirty the other. Any guesses? End tangent.)
Ohanzee just provided his fake SIN while selling gold to the dwarf. If the dwarf does sell you out, as his competitors suggested (or were they just trying to get you to avoid doing business with a rival?), then it would now be possible for SecForce to connect the "person of interest" selling gold with the one who rented the van. That means that SecForce could flag the van when it passes by a traffic drone. Traffic drones are common, so the only question is how quickly they would make the connection. An hour? A day? If, of course, Baqir sold you out at all.
Next@All (but especially Zweiblumen and Malevolence) Drones: which ones? An MCT Fly-Spy and/or a Horizon Flying Eye?
@All Bathing, where? You can probably rent a room in some seedy motel and sneak additional guests in and out. If so, let me know which SIN to use.
@rednblack I'll let you share some of Ace's insights on SecForce
@Malevolence Which suit, if any?
