I'm trying to figure out what is the correct calculation for recoil compensation from Strength.
Below is a quote from the
Recoil section of SR5 rulebook, page 175:
You get 1 free point anytime you start firing, then you add your Strength/3 (rounded up) and the recoil compensation of any guns you are prepared to shoot (that means loaded and in your hands
But the example on page 177 of the rulebook, under
Burst Recoil, gives a different calculation, which comes out to
Strength/2 (rounded up):
His Strength of 4 gives him 2 points to add to his 1 free point of compensation
Meanwhile, in Run & Gun, page 110, under
Progressive Recoil within The Little Things sidebar, the calculation of
Strength/2 is also given just like in the aforementioned example:
The basic rules allow every character to fire 2 bullets before taking recoil penalties (1 free + STR/2(rounded up))
So which is the correct calculation of Strength for recoil compensation?
