For what it's worth, I'd be *thrilled* to get full body swaps in the mix. I've got ideas! But it ain't gonna be easy...

Yeah, I was asking because, while I get replacing each part piecemeal, I think having full-body prosthesis as one single whole thing is a pretty common theme in cyberpunk, so I wanted to see if that existed yet in Shadowrun.

A full set of Synthetic parts will get you pretty close to Batu/Motoko from Ghost in The Shell. For 5E that's about as close as you're going to get. Use Boicompatability and Alphaware (if you can take the cost) and you'll have some Essence left over for other augments (not much though)

You're looking for Cyborgs, OP, and it ain't nearly as pretty as how it looks in Ghost in the Shell.
Greataxe - Apply directly to source of problem, repeat as needed.

Why do people assume I'm thinking Ghost in the Shell? Full-body prosthesis is a theme in more than one cyberpunk story, and I was just curious if it was available in Shadowrun.

It just occurred to me.  If True full body prostheses existed in the Sixth World… Wouldn't Thomas Roxborough be the first to want it?  Or perhaps Develop it?

I mean unless he's gotten attached to that Rox-in-a-box persona.

Ol'Roxy's problem is a little more advanced then sticking his brain in a jar and thus into a body...

Rox is pretty much soup. A living, thinking soup, but soup nonetheless.
It would have to be a pretty big body to house his container.
Where am I going? And why am I in a hand basket ???

True, but it was about the closest analogy I could come up with of "Original brain in a synthetic, but still human looking, body." that is actually somewhat possible in Shadowrun under existing rules.

If Campbells can condense soup, could Rox be condensed down as well? Rox in a can!

....

It would be like picking out the roma tomato bits from a 10 tomato soup.

"Is THIS part of his brain? Nope, thats a sphincter...."

They pretty much say that it is a fluke that Rox isn't dead. And after Billions spent in the best bio-research labs aztech has, he's STILL soup.

indirectly  they do !
If you use Alphaware and the Suite Bonus , you get 30% Discount so a full Cyberbody ( 2 Arms. 2 Legs, Torso,Head, Eyes, Ears = 6.65 x 0.7 = 4.655 Essenceloss) is totally possible !
and with Biocompatibility its just a 4 Pts Essenceloss.
A lot is possible If You know the Rules (and the Background)

with a possible Dance

If you use Alphaware and the Suite Bonus ...
Bundle bonus.

A 5e suite would offer more for less essence, at higher nuyen cost and the quibble of not being able to install anything other than the suite.

Bubblegum Crisis is where I first saw it, followed by Appleseed. I never got around to Ghost in the Shell... I tried to watch an episode of STand Alone Complex when it got a US broadcast, and the opening scene had a graphic gunshot destruction of a guy's ankle and, well, while I don't mind violence, I'm not a fan of gore, so turned it off an never went back. D'oh.

I have a few ideas on the matter of converting one's body over to plastic and steel, however.

Hrm.

I should send email upstairs...

Hey now, be nice with ol' Roxy! He's not *soup* ... he's stew! (There're still some chunkybits in the mix, after all.)
