Perform a Matrix Perception 7 hits   to detrmine:  Is there anything running silent in area around van (I automatically see all icons not running silent), the type of icon of the van (if a persona then it is being rigged, if a device then it is not), what (persona/device) each silent icon is and the rating of any personas (up to a total of 5).  Counting up personas and silent running personas to tell the team.

Perform a Matrix Perception to see if any party members have Marks against them 1 hit .  I will do IC post after I get results.  If I need to do more Matrix Perception tests to identify how many people are running silent around van I will do so.  (10d6t5, you can roll if you want).  I am going to be able to do a little more than a test per second, so it shouldn't be a problem.

Anyone can trigger 'combat rounds' by rolling initiative, if you want to get the jump on him.  Otherwise, I'll assume no one is making a hostile or overt move.

The second floor location kind of change a lot of things. Wasn't counting on that.

On the lower floor, I would have used the room to trap them. Now on the second floor that wouldn't work and don't want to give them the high ground.

So we will need to act when they're coming out of the van. Angus will have the best vantage point. And Henway hopefully the surprise. Did Ravener got into any sort of sniping position?

EDIT: Ready for action as soon as we know the results of Kachina's assensing and Forty's visual trip inside the Van.

Did you mean for one of the 'comlinks' to be a cyberdeck (Renraku Tsurugi is the same deck I use)?  It will definitely affect my actions if you did.  If it is supposed to be a comlink I am going to try and hack on the fly on each comlink to get a mark so that I can erase the dialing/texting program.  After that I will switch back to AR to act and ready my sniper rifle.

 If it is supposed to be a cyberdeck I will be hacking on the fly the comlink and deleting the dialing program, but also warning the team that there is a decker in play (and two possible people).  After that I will wait until they are about to spring the physical attack to try and get a mark on the cyberdeck.

Forty:

The interior of the Van is empty, no seats or anything, also no people, no equipment, etc.


Kachina:

Upon entering the Astral Plane you note that there are two spirits near the individual, who is Awakened, about even with you in terms of power, no cyberware, he's a human, and he's relatively calm.

I need a sneaking roll and if you want to assense the spirits, rolls for each of them, as well.

Speaking of what is astrally visible, or not, I never did say what Forty did with Harry after they sniffed the room.  I would think the default would be to let the spirit go back astral (where it would attract less attention), but keep it close to her.

But  I didn't say ahead of time, and your idea of default might be different, but do please let us know if it is different than I said.

If we are going to spring the trap early, I am going to leave VR for AR and prep for physical combat.  If I have time I will continue to do the other comlink...

While we are waiting for life to stop slapping Jayde Moon around quite so hard, I thought I'd take advantage of the lull for a bit of table talk with the other players.

What I think we know so far is:

- One awakened human walking toward the motel office, astrally accompanied by two spirits.  Looks similar to Kachina in magical power level.  No cyberwear (or at least, none at a grade that Kachina saw)

- We don't know any details of the spirits yet (Kachina would have to make a sneaking roll to see more without exposing herself to being seen in turn, if I read that right), nor any mention if the awakened guy has any foci or sustained spells on him.

- The van showed two comm-links in it, one running openly and one silently.  They were moving together, then the guy got out and started walking to the office.  I think the implication was that they continued to move together (suggesting that he is carrying both), but I'm not positive about that.

- Nothing was visible inside the van once the driver left.  Van didn't show either people or items in it.  Note that this was just normal vision with a perception roll of 3, so conceivably there could be invisible people, astral spirits, etc in there.

So it looks like the guy is alone other than the two spirits (i.e. he is still pretty dangerous), but we haven't quite eliminated the possibility of further back-up.

As for what is next ....I think we are all waiting for Kachina to call it, and Kachina is probably waiting for the last few results before calling anything.  (which is probably for the best -- Forty would probably just kick the van door open while calling on Henway to hit the mage with a metric ton of gel rounds, and trust numbers and fire power to deal with whatever happens.  Kachina may have a more slightly more sophisticated plan :)   )

Sounds about right.  Ravener is just trying to disable his ability to call for help while we hit him, then can jump back to AR and add his shock sniper rounds.

Henway doesn't pack gel rounds.  When he shoots someone, it's with the expectation that they need to die.
