So been tooling around with the new stuff out of Rigger 5.0, come up with what seems to me a decent Roto-Drone for more covert combat situations.

HANDL: 4. SPEED: 2R ACCEL: 1. BODY: 4(4). ARMOR: 6. PILOT: 3. SEN: 3. AVAIL: 6 COST: 8,000 (3 extra Weapon Mod points)

HANDL 5, 4000. SPEED 3R, 4800. ACCEL 2, 1,600. SEN 4, 4,000. PILOT 4 3,200.

Mechanical Upgrades = AVAIL: 12R. COST: 25,600

Small Pop-Up Weapon Mount 1,800
Ares Viper Slivergun, Extended Clip 2, Electronic Firing, Trigger Removal, Internal Smartlink. 1,880
ACC 5(7) DAM 9P(f) AP +4 MODE SA / BF RC 1 AMMO 60(c) (additional -1 to hear the gun on top of -4 from Integral Silencer)

2x Tiny Pop-Up Weapon Mount 1,800
2x Yamaha Pulsar Taser 360
ACC 5 DAM 7S(e) AP -5 MODE SA RC - AMMO 4(m)

Armed Cost cost 31,440

Smartsoft 1,500
Clearsight 2,500
Manoeuvring 2,500
Targeting Ares Viper Slivergun 2,500
Targeting Yamaha Pulsar 2,500
Evasion 2,500
((Autosofts based on having a DR5 RCC which is the best you can have at Avail 12))

Total Cost 45,440

Notes: Armor has been left at the default value to preserve legal appearance. Although most other modifications are restricted, by not increasing the armor the idea is they're not given closer scruitiny.

This is very much a Rigger's drone, an RRC will be required to run the required number of Autosofts needed to properly operate this drone.

Weapon selection was designed with covert use in mind, taking advantage of increased speed and manoeuvrability while still not appearing an immediate threat. As such the Viper can be used to take down unarmed opponents silently, while the tasers give it a chance to remove heavier armored opponents without noisy gunfire.

This is not a drone for open conflict use unless there are lots of places for it to take cover from return fire.

And yes, I know there's nothing on the Sensor Array... not my fault I have no idea what the hell is supposed/needs to go into one.

and then watch it become a scrap heap as an enemy decker data spikes it to kingdom come as well as whatever device you were running it on

If you base every purchase on how much scrap it will become if/when a Decker decides to spike it... why bother leaving the house at all? With an attitude like that, I don't think Shadowrunning is for you.
The Matrix is everywhere. It is all around us. Even now, in this very room. You can see it when you look out your window or when you turn on your television. You can feel it when you go to work…when you go to church…when you pay your taxes.

Except that it's slaved to a DR5 (assuming standard game limitations) RCC and protected by its firewall.

Besides, that's the nature of the Rigger Vs. Decker relationship.

Um he said COVERT drone any schmoe with a commlink can do matrix perception or if its within 100 meters auto spot If you dont run silent or sleaze your stuff why run or rig at all with an amature mistake like that you arent going to run very long anyways

And who exactly said I was making that mistake? ALL that was listed was the drone, not the character or RCC, and yes there are ways of giving an RCC Sleaze (Although this does seem a major weak point that seemed an ideal oppertunity to address with some RCC love from Rigger 5.0 but they don't even seem to exist as far as that book is concerned).

Also note that Covert speak more about the weapon loadout of a silenced heavy pistol and tasers as opposed to the ruckus created by heavy weaponry.

I'd go with a Renraku Pelican for in plain sight work. They are everywhere and can deliver a small payload without attracting attention. A bomb in a box or a small drone would be easy to fit inside.

For out of sight work I'd consider the humble spy ball. It's small, so it's easy to stay out of sight, and it can handle stairs. Pay for the build in grenade and make sure it flies into an elevator or other enclosed space with the target before you blow it for fine blend salsa. Cheap and disposable. No worries about losing a big investment on a flub. Get a swarm of them if you really want to scare or kill the shit out of anything.

The Rigger can put up an insane amount of noise which will help hide the drone from matrix perception.

read rigger 5- with the RCC, a jammer and EW you're talking a lot more than 12

Based on what I read, electronic warfare only applies to using a commlink to jam everything, including your own stuff. The actual jammer is still limited to its rating in noise generation, but you are able to exclude your designated devices from the noise.

Is there a reference that can be quoted that says otherwise?

Jam Signals is Electronics Warfare+Logic{Attack]
Device rating is not in the formula.

An actual jammer produces noise equal to it's rating.

Whether the electronics warfare noise and the jammer's noise stack, I don't know.
