Ok, so I have loved Shadowrun since 2nd ed but have really never had the chance to play much. With 6th ed out and a group that is willing to do some rp'ing I figured that this was the perfect time to run something and see if they like it.
I get most of the rules pretty well, and for the things that are a bit vague I have generally been able to find a discussion or work backwards from examples to figure it out. With technomancers, I am pretty close to giving up so I figured I would ask for some help. Here is what I don't understand:
- Do technomancers use the matrix actions on pages 179-184 to do things? Or are you just supposed to use the complex forms/sprites/echoes to do everything?
- What skills do technomancers use? I get that tasking is a special skill for them, but do they still use electronics and cracking like normal deckers?
- Related to the question above, why doesn't the example technomancer on page 89 have any cracking skill? Am I missing something, or is this one of the many errors?
- Do technomancers use all of the other matrix rules in the main section, unless they are specifically adjusted? I know that they don't use programs per se and must instead emulate them using complex forms, but what about initiative, edge, noise, and the rest?
- How does matrix damage affect them? I get that any physical damage is physical, but what about matrix damage? There is no deck to brick so how does that affect them?
Am I just a big ol' dummy who missed some pages?
