Just finished a quirky sociology/anthropology book called A Billion Dirty Thoughts, which is one of the odder uses of datamining.

Anthologies suit Shadowrun well.  Lots of stories to tell and angles to tell them from.  One really resonated with me but I can't say there were any I disliked.  Worth picking up.  My first ever kindle purchase, a format I think I'll stick with personally for novels. (I'm still a deadtree junkie when it comes to my game books.

They also sell Kukris from Nepal, and an assortment of other items, some of which are made by the owner who is a blacksmith.

It's also a hangout for veterans.

Currently reading Feed and Deadline from Mira Grant, Books 1 and 2 of the Newsflesh trilogy. Having survived Cryptography and SEcurity Mechanisms class I'm avoiding security related topics for a week or so till Information Security Law starts up

That is so awesome.  Where is the store located?  The gaming store where used to work is run by a veteran and some of the patrons are ex-military as well.  Does your game store owner do mail order?

My FLGS' website.

It's located in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada's Exchange District (Close to downtown Winnipeg), which is a historical commercial district of the city.

I've been to Winnipeg - trust me, you aren't that far off ;)

(Ok, I tease, it's a lovely city and I have enjoyed every visit...doesn't hurt that I crash at a swank Downtown manse though)

Currently rereading Day By Day Armageddon, Day By Day Armageddon:Beyond Exile and listening to the audiobook of The Last Centurion again (Summer reruns, yay!)

lol, yup. i'm attemptin' to read them all. i've re-read never deal with a dragon, never trust an elf, working on changling at home and shadowplay at work.

anddd in betweens i'm reading all rpg stuff, like one stage before, halequin, seattle srcbook etc. i'm really trying to get all caught up for this 4th ed stuffs.

i really want to find some battletech novels though, they're hard as heck to locate. love the idea of it, never really read too much of the stories though.. looking forward to it tho. on a side note, i remember playing mechwarrior in pods at the cn tower in toronto. they stuck you in these little pods with a screen a the front, couple joysticks and pedals, 8 players in a basic ffa style fight, lol.

Actually, I'm originally from a city that was almost moon-like.

I just picked up David Weber's "A Mighty Fortress" and am slowly making my way through the brick-sized book.  (Honestly, what was this in hardcover?  A cinder block?)
