GM, correct me if I am wrong I'm not attempting to deceive...
Most people just callz me Mouse. I set up a back door to LuCom's node when I last visited. When I said destroyed, I meant it. Log files, research, and other data, all annihilated. There was nothing left to even attempt a trace from or determine what was taken. LuCom is in the process of restoring their node from cold storage. I guess they will have everything loaded and patched up in about 18-22 hours. And my back door to go along with it. Depending on the frequency LuCom's dump to cold storage will determine the age of their data. If they dump nightly, then I would say that any data will be out-dated for our purposes. Unless we want to view security feeds for any unusual activity (people casing the place prior to the hit, etc.)  In any case, we will need to wait until the data gets reloaded. Another possibility are PayData sites. We could see if any of those are selling LuCom data. Depending on how hot the data, those sites may not touch it. Even still what's out there may not even be what the hacker(s) were truely interested in in the first place. It may be possible to hack into the Knights Errant and see what info they pulled from the crime scene. A thought just occured to me. Hmmm...I could do a search of the surrounding nodes to see what traffic has been routed to LuCom's node, I'm sure the list would be huge, but the amount of data transmitted to and fro to do what they did should make several ids stand out above the rest. Besides, you can't hack the routing nodes establishing your connection while connected, you can only monitor traffic at the node you are in. The nodes record all the traffic they route. Part of erasing your datatrail is to go back and find the nodes that processed your connection and erase your trace from the logs. Under a new id, of course; though that can be time consuming. With a spoofed id and a change in location, most don't worry about that kind of clean up--it leaves tracers with the physical location of where they connected at, but no hacker.

I agree that the dudes behind this weren't out to solely frame Dean; he either made a convient escape goat or setting him up was an additional bonus. On the flip side...There is that remote possibility that Dean is responsible for some part or all of the crime. Don did say that Dean could have done the hacking, but he doubted the murder. Getting our hands on Dean's commlink might answer that one. The murder could have been LuCom's way of dealing with an internal employee problem and the crash a convient cover up. They are a corp after all...

Oh and speaking of LuCom,  I know that they are a spin off company of MCT corp. They're a firmware designer of computer systems for MCT, and they work with all kinds of communication gear, though mostly with commlinks. I'm sure some R&D on next generation communication would be worth something to many somebodies and corps.

@Team: I doubt that there is something left in Deans apartement, if KE knows where he lives...and the place itself may be under surveillance. If we wan to avoid police, we have only limited resurces: Deans advocate and that Triad trace...If they hit the LuCom the way we did RMD, I doubt there will be many traces on the place...yet, this seems like runners work, not triad soldiers. What do you think?

Coyote is a local name for a smuggler specializing in a specific border crossings. they charge per person and accordingly to risk, and usually they are available.
