Switch nods to Crimson, and points back towards Jink's van: "Let's talk."
Crimson was following the conversation with interest it seems the other Team had already had some adventures they might be proud of, but as far as Crimson was concerned this was a very unlucky day. Not only were they too late to be of some use when Vanian called but it was sure that with him going into hiding her contract would end.

Switch's voice pulled her out of some thoughts of her future, she was not sure he had said anything to her before the >>let's talk<< but it sounded serious so she went along with it.
"So what do you want to talk about?" She was eager to get doe with it so she could start to prepare to search for a new employment.

"Look, you may have gathered from our conversation with Rat that there's something else going on.  I can't give you all the details right now, but we'd like to hire your crew.  You seem to know how to handle yourselves, plus you are in the right place at the right time.  There's a big payoff at the end, but there are some risks.  If you are in, you're in from here on out.  That means your contract with Vanian will take second place.  I don't see there being a problem, but that's the priority."

Switch glances at Crimson. "Are you in?  If you are, I'll let you explain it to the other members of your crew, especially the trigger-happy chica .  She's in more danger from Jink than anything else."

While he waits for her response, Switch fires off a message to Officer Carl Jeon: "Yo man, I need some info on a bunch of gangers that call themselves the Iron Legion.  If you know of any that go by Breaker, I'll owe you."

Vanian replies to Jink's latest question. "All the footage at my store got taken by the hit squad.  There's a copy at my crib, sent by wire as backup.  That's where I saw it happen.  If we can patch into the local wire grid, we might be able to connect to my box.  It's hard to tell what's hooked up to what these days...  If we connect to the wires at my store we definitely can get at it, but I'm sure as hell not going back to the condo."

<<Carl Jeon:  Aw hell.  Had to know you'd be calling me about this drek...  I don't know what you've got to do with this mess, but you're gonna want let it be, trust me.>>  You hear Carl call out, "Any of these stiffs got the name 'Breaker' writ on their underwear?"

Motoko shook her head. Hardwired systems? How primitive. The Matrix was meant to run free. "If the wires connect to a system with a transmitter, I can probably force my way in remotely. But if it is a closed system, then we'll have to be physically there to access things. Or at least, one of you will, and hook your link to the wires somewhere, and I can go through your link to get into the system."

Rat responds, "Nope.  Cameras were on a closed circuit.  Only a chump would put his security on a wireless system.  Shop's main box got took too, so there's no terminal to link into there.  Might be an old one in the back storage."

Jink's comm lights up.  <<Yuri@Jink:  Hey Jinky.  Before I forget all about our evening of corpses and shooting, I figured you'd want the data I pulled off Neil Scott's system.  Haven't had time to break the encryption yet, so it's still potentially hazardous/lucrative.  Don't forget to ask Bloody Mary about Neil's personal effects too, whenever she pops up from hiding Johnny away from the law and Multitech besides.  By the by,  I managed to get away before the cops came down, obvs, and managed to wipe Rat's redundant surveillance system too!  That should put us in the clear with only that one guy getting away and not having any pictures of our face or cars (hacked grid guide, natch.)  Try not to get killed, and let the others know I said goodbye!  Bye others!!>>

Ghost sends a text to his ganger friend Slugger.

@Slugger: Hey man, you ever met a guy called Breaker?  Thinks he runs with the Iron Legion.  Any info would help.  Thanks

Motoko cursed softly. "In that case, we would have to tap into the optical line directly to access the system, unless the old terminal is there. Makes things much more difficult. Surveillance may be out, then, but I could probably access the building's other functions remotely."

"Since it looks like we might run into them - who exactly did you see there? You mentioned Clean Steve, was he alone?"

slugger's gang knowledge: 8d6.hits(5) → [3,2,5,6,5,4,6,5] = (5)  boy does he know..

<<Slugger@Ghost:  Breaker's a dead man, omae.  Him and most the Iron Legion got wacked last night.  Sick bastard even took trophies.  What's left of the Legion are all down here at the Brighton Mall Blitz.  If you wanted to come down to the party, we could talk more in person.  Might be able to make introductions.>>

"Problem?  More like a knee-deep pile of drek... "

Switch glances at Crimson: "So are you in, or are you out?  Once you are on board we chit chat about the details, but the total payout for the team is over 100K."

Jink leans back on chair and cracks his flesh and steel knuckles, the ruddy light of the safehouse glinting from his quietly humming cyberarm. "Aah," he chimes in to Switch and Ghost, "we always got problems, hmm. There's usually a fix. What is it?"

Jink transmits Yuri's full message to Ghost and Switch to put them in the picture. <Jink@Ghost/Switch: Motoko here sounds like she know systems... Maybe they can help us crack this encryption, si? Will they deal with us, Switch?>  The old biker gives a head motion towards the little woman, spreading his hands questioningly at Switchback.

<Jink@BloodyMary: Hey baby, Jinky here. Where you at? Find anything useful at Neils? Ping me when you safe, wiz?>

<Jink@Yuri: Gracias Yuri, you're some kind of wonder, eh. Keep safe, chicka. You need a ride sometime, or a drink, you just ping me, si.  ;)>

Switch glances at Crimson: "So are you in, or are you out?  Once you are on board we chit chat about the details, but the total payout for the team is over 100K."
Crimson Looked at Switch "100k or more you say? that's a lot, but how sure is it? if i deliver Rat to the border we get 10k each, and that's much safer payout then your proposal, so why should i bet on you? If on the other Hand you help to complete the prior assignment, then i would not see any reason to help you on yours, as it seems this one is coming to a close anyway. and i doubt that a bit of cash would harm the operation in any way." Crimson was not sure she should risk a secure payout for a chance of this larger sum and additional risks, but further employment sounded good.
"say what. We drop the Drop the ignore prior job theme and teams are free to join, you should understand that our reputation is on the line as well, no one will trust us anymore if we drop Rat now. And one more thing, We are not team, you might have noticed it, Mokoto is very goo at showing it, so there are no promises from me, but i will do my best to convince her, if this is what you seek." Crimson had come to a conclusion about this - Giving up pay for a larger one in the end, that was acceptable, but risking her reputation, that was something she was not willing to risk just on a whim. This had better be good deal or there would be no agreement. Crimson was working on mutual trust, she had to arrange things, she had to be able to trust her Mr. J., Now this all could be put in jeopardy - would it be worth it?

<<Carl@Switch: Well, yeah, I could tell you something you don't know, but, like you said, I got bills to pay too and I don't risk my neck for nothing...>>
