Steve stops at about 10 meters away, raises his left hand and points one finger to the sky.
"I understand, and won't stop you.  I happen to be looking for some thing tonight rather than some one.  I imagine, if you had it, you would know what I mean."  He looks at Jink appraisingly, with that same subtle smile on his face.  "If you should stumble across it, I'd appreciate if you'd reach out to me.  You can contact me through Judas Caine at club Nosferatu.  Yes, I know, terrible name.  His real name is Baxter, but the brats at his club like using theatric horseshit to make themselves feel special.  Every business has it's costs."   He shrugs his shoulders a bit and, again using his left hand, points across the street using only his wrist.  "Well, I'll clear out of your way then.  I hope to hear from you soon.  I'm sure I could find a way to help a man in your position."  He puts his hands back in his pockets and begins to walk across the street.

Jink watches Clean Steve walk away, but doesn't reholster his ingram until their surprise visitor disappears from sight. Once the assassin is gone he flicks a bead of sweat from his brow and curses under his breath in Spanish. What's going on back there, chummers?

Across town the full panic was on.  Hallway strobing, the man in lab 212 burst out of his door, still holding his box.  He was looking right at Johnny as he shouted.
"Oh go*REEET*y samples! *REEET* Help me! *REEET* please, g*REEET*lp me!"  He dropped his box on the floor and kicked it against the door to keep it propped open before fleeing back into his lab.

Switchback exhales slowly and blinks when the conversation between Clean Steve and Jink ends.  Who says I'm not lucky?

@Team: No sign of them here, but I'm still watching the door.  But yeah, let's grab what we need from here and leave.  If Clean Steve is interested in this place, some other chummers I don't want to tango with probably are too.

Switchback stays in place, watching the door carefully for any sign of the team.

Mary thinks back to the bomb. @team we have about two minutes here, I hope this guy gets the drek out of his lab. Johnny, talk him out of taking his samples real quick like, tell him being dead isn't worth losing the samples or something.

@Johnny I'm starting a countdown, at sixty seconds left, I'm getting the hell out of here through the fire escape, and I suggest you do the same.

I only hope we can get to Van's in time. Perhaps they'll be fine though.

Johnny hands the things that he was carrying  and shove them into Mary's hands. 

"Get gone! I'll be right behind you!"he screams over the noise.

He'll scoop up the professor's samples with one hand and pull the out Neil's gun from his waistband with the other.  When the professor comes running out again, he points the pistol at the professor and yells, "You've got what you can, time to go."

The trace finishes and Yuri look at the node ID. She sets a countdown timer on her link for the estimated time left on the bomb, then loads up her programs for a tough crack job.

The little scantily clad matrix icon looks at the imposing firewall of the node and cracks her knuckles.  Then she launches into a flurry of activity.

Hack Niel's node on the Fly for Admin: Hacking 6 + Exploit 6 + Encephalon 1 = (13d6.hits(5)=2, 13d6.hits(5)=10, 13d6.hits(5)=4, 13d6.hits(5)=8, 13d6.hits(5)=7, 13d6.hits(5)=2)

The little silver-clad icon squirms in through the cracks in the firewall and peers around cautiously.  No alert... null sheen baby!  Let's get to work!

Yuri quickly sets about downloading anything and everything she can get her digital mitts on for later analysis, focusing on the more interesting bits first, dropping the Armor and Exploit programs as it becomes apparent her intrusion was successful.

Browse for hottest paydata to copy first: Computer 4 + Browse 6 + Encephalon 1 = (11d6.hits(5)=6)

A quick glance shows a few promising items and she puts them at the top of the copy queue, with a careful eye out for any annoying Data Bomb presents.  And, mindful that at least part of the transmission would be wireless, cranks up her Encrypt program.

Yuri found a section with Neil's search history, and another encrypted section full of data.  She cut the whole chunk of data out and absconded with it to be examined later.

As the team at Vanian's finishes up, Jink finally has a moment to think about what's happening over at Gibson.

Wrapping up with the hack into Niel's, she flips her AR display back over to the Gibson node to check in on Mary and Johnny.  She mutters to herself upon seeing the gun in his hand.

A girl's work is never done

A wave of the hands in the AR display and she's off searching through the data files on the Gibson node, aiming for the recent maintenance or diagnostic reports on the fire system.

Then a few teaks to add some lines about a few sensors getting close to going bad.

And finally a trip over to the logs to edit out the presense of herself and her teammates from the building's network, having already blanked them from the cameras earlier.

Mary tries to stuff the things Johnny gave her in whatever pockets her suit had, and takes off. "I'll see you later, Johnny, neh? Don't get caught."

Mary runs towards the window with a fire escape and breaks it with the butt of her gun, tumbling through at top speed. As she gets down the stairs, she can't help but think about Johnny stuck there dealing with that idiotic scientist.
