"I'll go and have a look around the hotel," Kitten said, "don't worry, I'm just going to have a look on the outside from the astral.  I guess it will light up like a christmas tree.  Anyways, keep an eye on my shoes while I'm out, okay."

She puts herself down on a confortable seat and projects into the astral.  Flying over, she stops on a nearby building - or at least the astral shadow of the building - and looks down at the hotel to check for wards and spirits.  She expects many of both types.

There are force 4 wards around the bottom two floors and random rooms through out the building, three watchers patrol outside.

<<@Space:  Do you have a tapper bug?  I don't know these things.  Something we could plant or use to patch into Horizon's system on a dry run?>>

>>answer:Funny that you ask, I just build one of this ta device for fun last week. Nice to have, but almost 100$ only for the materials! Summa sumarum, I have one optical tap right now.

Silk stepped out of the bathroom into the living quarters. She was aware of the surprised and curious looks of her colleagues but ignored them. She needed to stay in character to get a better feel of her new persona.
Oren Fukuyama spoke English the way it was taught in a Japanese business school, with a thick Japanese accent and in the demanding authoritarian way she always spoke.
"Right, so, first things first. We need to find out where exactly this guy is staying, what he's doing there, if he's got a routine or a schedule. We need to check out hotel security and get a map of the place.
Space, Romy, how much of this stuff can we accomplish through the matrix and with drones and how much will we need to do ourselves?

@team: No contacts, and so far, nothing at the matrix. Though, there is a Vory in Atlantic City, but unfortunatly, he wants to kill Space, ...

@team: Don't know, but could one of us just go into the hotel and ask for Mr. Aki. She only has to say, that she has a personal message for Mr. Aki. Don't know, we can buy some flowers and ... just give me a few seconds to check some details, I have a funny idea.

Since the disco Equiliprium is almost closed, Space uses his mighty accounting power to estimate if its possible to throw a big reopening of the disco with a casion night theme within 5 days and also how much it would cost: Location, music and bar and security is already there (latter should maybe double or tripled for the event night), the only thing they would have to rent are gambling tables, roulette, blackjack, poker (for the VIP area) and the trained personal for them and some slot maschines. And advertisment and small stuff like red carpeting for the entrance, maybe rent two or three street sedan for the VIP persons.

Space loads an agent on his second commlink and sends it to a radio tower near the hotel to scan for all nodes:
<<start agent_program R6>>
<<R6.loadProgram(scan)>>
<<R6.loadProgram(standart_programs)>>
...loading...
<<R6.goto(public node, 19223331245753, Seatle)>>
<<R6.runProgram(scan, noTimeLimit)>>

On his second commlink, he starts a data search by himself:
<<root.loadProgram(bowse)>>
<<root.runProgram(browse, {"big gambling event in Seattle", "this week" + root.currentDate(), not "Horizon"})>>

I can take a look to their system later today, now I would like something to eat.
If Habu has a small kitchen, Space takes - with Andromeda's permission - something small from there and comes back to the rest of the group. Otherwise, he would ask, if they can stop at the next ShufferShake to get something.

Back at the group:
"Personally, I think this hotel is will be far to secure to get at least two of us hin and specially out again. I mean, not even a public website to their system..." Chewing some of the foot, Space continues: "We should think about a way to lure Mr. Aki out of the hotel. I thought about someting like a VIP inventation to a big gambling here in Seattle, just have to find or make such a event."

<<@team: We should make a list of what we know, and what we want to know.  That's the most important thing at this stage.  We know that this man is a nobody hustler who hit the jackpot.  We know that he used his new wealth to rub elbows with important people.  We also know that he got a synthetic hand which is virtually undetectable, and he put it on a payment plan.  We know that he disappeared six months ago and that now, he has re-emerged in Seattle at a Horizon hotel.

We got points of interest here in three places: Ancient history, recent history, and future plans.  Mysteries from ancient history are, why would he get this hand, and if he is so wealthy, why couldn't he buy it outright?  I certainly don't think that a man who pays a thousand nuyen a night for a hotel room would disappear over a debt as small as the cost of a hand.  So, the reason for his disappearance is something to be concerned with as it is very likely related to why he has suddenly come back.

As crucial as that info might be there is also recent info worth gathering.  For example, how long has it been since he resurfaced, and has he been staying at this hotel the whole time?  Other than that there are the regular things such as comings, goings and who he talks to.  From this we can build the answers to where he will be and what he will do.>>

You've found a node that, for all intents and purposes, is for an apartment block in Renton. So why is it showing up in your search? Looking round you eventually find a hidden link.

Password Please: XXXXXXXXXXXX appears, in japanese.

"I agree with space," Kitten said as she came out of the astral, "I've seen two wards on the bottom two floors, a couple of wards on random rooms, I assume the more pricy suites and a three watchers on patrol.  You can easily assume that a place like that has one mage on duty at all times who can come in with spirit allies and some serious mojo."

Hmm, that could be a nice mouse trap or maybe its the reason why Mr. Aki paid us a visit in Seattle. Space browse to the rules and conditions to find out what this The Bog is or were this casino is, assuming somewhere in Renton.
He watchs back to the rest of the team: "Hey, ladys, know a casion named, Bakuto? Japanese, maybe in Renton, having a event called 'The Bog'? They have this Bog event right this week. I don't know so much about Seattle, but maybe you know."
