Oren ordered a light entrée and main course with matching beverages and tried to engage the man in small talk to try and find out who he was and why he was here. Lunching with a man with that kind of entourage without knowing anything about him did feel a bit like swimming in a tank with piranha's without knowing if they'd been recently fed or not. She was polite and respectful as she should be to an older person, listening to his answers and while trying to avoid answering too many herself. Silk knew that if she didn't get anything out of him, the rest of the team might be disappointed with the results of her visit to the hotel.

Kitten went in the hallway and looked for a toilet.  Locking herself in so her body was safe, she could have a look in the astral.  She went about very carefully, so she didn't trip any alarms.

Psychologically the man is unreadable to Silk, his actions and motivations impossible to decipher. You manage to keep up your façade as Oren quite well, he hasn't noticed a single fallacy.

Meanwhile on the 'Trix, Space finds himself forced into a toga wearing Icon by the node's reality filter, but it runs smoothly and isn't impeding his systems.

The Staff node is connected to the rest of the system by staircases built into an Olympus-like mountain, data is but the wind around you and the IC are nymphs and cherubs darting between shadows. Currently you have a public account, too low to access anything here except the public node.

Space looks down on his Icon, 'hmm, nice. Then, carpe diem.' Then he focuses to the rest of the node, searching for anything what looks like a room or guest list.

If he doesn't find anything 'errare humanum est', Space figures out, he probably has to climb that mountain.

There didn't seem to be a guest list on the node so Space got cracking.

Space was surprised by how quickly he could slip into a security account for the public and maintenance nodes without being caught, it only took 3 seconds. Maybe Horizon's slipping?
The stairway to the Security node was now green lit and entering led to a single empty node with multiple entrances but only one exit, a choke-point... trying to take the exit teleports you to the bottom of the stairs. Drek, you've found the encryption.

Drek, I assume I don't have the whole day to play with that encryption, except if LJ hidde the link very good. Let's ask him... no wait ... he is goon -.-,
will Space thinks to himself, he creats a new account: maintenance01 on that node and deleted his footprintes on the wait marble of the VR [edit the log-files]

With that Space switch to the message window, 'short trip to the Olympus so far' and message the rest of the team:
@team: "Sorry ladies, the service room is as encrypted as the wireless access node, i.e. a dead end for now. LJ can probably take the cmmlink back."

He take himself some moments to check the commlinks if the team. Space know, the commlink of the guy next to Silk would be much easier than to hack a nexus of the three A corp. So he can do it later, in case Silk doesn't get a good shot with her charming skills. Better than risk an alarm from that man's commlink to ruin the dinner.

Maybe he can use LJ comm in the service room to track don't the disposable link in LJ's pocket.

@Silk: "I'm idle for now, so if you don't get any new info from your dining partner, I could hack into his commlink."  Andromeda should come up with some dat search results, but might find some info about himself and The Bog on his link. But since Silk is the one sitting next to him, it is her call for now.
"If you agree, look around and give me a position of a person:
  • rich but stupid, so he has a fine commlink but no idea of real matrix security
  • concentrated on the food or his partner, e.g. a much too younger 'wife' with a far too short dress
  • optional: a little bit drunk
I will use his link as a decoy, so he exploit won't come from any link from your or Kitten."

Space didn't expect to be get spotted and get traced. But, half the restaurant jumped when Silks dining partner moved a finger, so he might even has a hacker in his pocket. And so nothing will connect Space's exploit with Silk. At least, they will get a got insight of how this new guy reacts on something like a small hack.

A look around the astral space of the hotel yielded a couple of locations with single people around the location LJ had gone missing.  Going back to her body she went out of the bathroom and started a physical search, going from spot to spot to check it out.  Most would be cleaning crew, she assumed, or single customers.  From time to time she did  a recheck to update positions.  Of course, there were a couple of parts of the hotel she couldn't get into as they were warded, but those were mostly suites and she didn't think LJ was there.

@Team: Getting nothing but a free meal from this man, not even a name. He's pretty good at dodging questions and giving meaningless answers, always dancing around the issue... maybe he's a politician ;) If you think you can hack his comm, be my guest, but I don't think he'll have some off-the-shelf commlink and software. Just make really sure it can't be traced to me. Again, I'd rather get nothing than raise suspicion. [[Video Feed Attached.]]

Space spots option Number 2, a Caucasian man currently doting over a woman with too-perfect features.
Loading up exploit as usual you pound against his firewall, nothing too bad, a standard wall.
On the third attempt you're through, with Admin, unfortunately there's a hyper-real alarm going off.

A Three Musketeers Suite IC loads in front of space and readies it's programs
Quote
Matrix Initiative please.
IC Ini: 10d6.hits(5)=2 12 with 3 IP

In the meat world Silk and the other patrons hear a commlink's alarm going, the man looks startled and then begins telling his female companion not to worry, his 'link has a security contract from the ISP.
"Ojousan" seems bored by the buzzing sound. "Seems someone is being bold."

Kitten, unaware of what's happening in the digital world searches for LJ.
After mistakenly following a real child for a bit she finds LJ. 5 floors up.
As she approaches from behind her though two well dressed Japanese men approach from in front of him. "That must be him", one says in Japanese.

Space is ready as well: 12 Ini + 6 hits 5IP in hotSIM.
"No free lunch for me today." Space wonders, if he can crash this IC before the Spider arrives. In VR, Space takes a quick look at the IC (5 hits) and open his red suitcase where he has his loaded programs. In this case a Attack 6 program, which, in VR, looks like a good, old shotgun. Attack: 8 hits

This IC is actually 3 in 1, Two have attack loaded while the third will run a trace. Your matrix perception lets you determine which is which.
Consider Them Sword1, Sword2 and Tracker.
Which is your attack aimed t?

"There you are then," Kitten said to LJ as she came closer.  She simply nodded to the two Japanese, not having understood what they were saying.  She did however, had a quick look in the astral to check them out.
"Miss Oren," she said over the comm to Silk, "I've found him."

"A less public notification would have been more appropriate.", Oren sighed at the lack of proper etiquette, shaking her head.

She focused on "Ojousan", her face and voice neutral as if she'd expected nothing less. "It seems my bodyguard has proven to be slightly less useless than expected. My son has been found, finally."

While the first two parts draw their swords, the last musketeer starts to walk to the exit. 'Not so fast Athos.' Space fires at the trace-running part of the IC.

Assuming the other programs starting a attack, Space runs some defensive subroutines with his stealth and armor programs.
Defense against both attacks: 4 and 6 hits
Damage Resistance against both attacks: 5 and 1 hits

Meanwhile (as a free action), he quickly changes his matrix icon. 'Always be dressed appropriately.'
