Nuadu doesn't know how to defuse data bombs himself, and if he did, he would be crazy. So instead, he'll call a friend.:
Compiling crack sprite rating 5 (8d6.hits(5)=5)
Shweet. Now that's opposed by the sprite's rating:
crack sprite rating 5 Resistance check (5d6.hits(5)=0)
Pbbhaha, the sprite actually critically glitched on its resistance roll, so on top of five tasks, something else happens, I guess that's up to you Joe
. Since the sprite didn't score any successes, I don't even have to resist fading.
A low echoing grumble issued from the spirit as it noticed the data bomb Aideen Pointed out. It was a minuscule tripwire lining the door to the information backups room, and Nuadu surely would've tripped it had he not been warned. "
Perhaps. . ." The ghost hummed quietly in response to Aideen's query. "
But I'll need to call a friend." It said, wisps of code suddenly spilling from it's mouth and eyes in a bright flare. In an instant, the lines of code merged together, connecting into a larger whole, and soon a man appeared.
He was tall and lanky, dressed in a blue pinstriped suit, his faced covered in a balaclava. "
Gentlemen?" Said the sprite as he withdrew a cigarette from a small case and lit it.
The ghost seemed pleased. "
I want you to defuse that bomb." It commanded pointing at the doorway with it's only arm. The spirit gave a half laugh, cutting itself off and looking confused for a moment as the clipped sound reverberated through the room. Nuadu had felt a tickle as Ashitara's whiskers skimmed along the nanoreceptors on his alphaware. His meatbody gave an involuntary chuckle. "
Phantom limb is acting up again..." Thought Nuadu as his avatar looked down at the empty space below it's right shoulder.
When the time comes for the spy to sap the bomb he'll roll defuse 5 + Hacking 5, and likely die horribly, you didn't mention what rating the bomb was, Aideen would know I think.
Rating 5 Crack sprite disarm data bomb (10d6.hits(5)=6)
hmm. Maybe we'll get lucky.
